  • "The food is always outstanding, and for the price you pay, this is a real good deal. We always look forward to our next meal with you."

  • "This Blooms restaurant at Conestogo College in Waterloo Ontario is a gem! Always exceeds expectations with the caliber of food, service, atmosphere. Gives an opportunity for guests to sample interesting dishes at very reasonable prices. Will continue to frequent this place and recommend to friends."

  • "Alex was our table 'maitre' and he was absolutely charming. The courses were delicious and well presented. Portions were ideal. Everyone a the table agreed Bloom's was going on their list of favourite places."

  • "Despite the fact that the restaurant is in a school and you have to walk through white, sterile hallways to get there, they've done a good job in setting up the room itself so that you feel like you're walking into a fine dining establishment: carpet, soft lighting, beautiful decor, soft music, and a maitre d' to take you to your table. The food was superb and artfully presented. The portions are not large, but adequate, especially in light of the relatively low prices you're paying for this quality of food. The service can be a little hit-and-miss (the waitress did not introduce herself and forgot to bring the condiment cart by for one of our meals), but this is excusable in light of the fact that they're still learning. We'll be back!"

  • "Once again an impressive meal...kudos to all who made it happen. And the good news is we can enjoy this treatment all summer, too! Looking forward to more delicious lunches at Blooms! Will be checking the website for the summer menus."

  • "My recent night at Bloom was alright but a little bit of a let down. The food was mediocre at best but the atmosphere and service were enjoyable. The menu I expected wasn't what was served (I had been expecting fish and chips) and that was part of the problem. The choices we were given were alright everyone at the table had issues with the food from iot being over/undercooked or weird sized portions. I've been to Bloom a couple times in the past and this has never been an issue."

  • "I've lived in Waterloo for 8 years and I only just discovered Bloom. You'd never know it was there, since it's tucked away in Conestoga College's Waterloo campus. Worth the walk through the school to get to Bloom - amazing food and service."

  • "The meal was superb, the mussels plenty, the sauce was finished off with the fresh bread, every last drop!!, the dessert was excellent (I didn't find any calories!!!!) The fish had a light beer batter nice and crispy, the fish was firmly flakey, not mushy. The service by Jason was entertaining, timely and the best server by far, he wins the GOLD FORK award. See ya next year."

  • "This restaurant is tha product of a catering school, the emphasis is on the food and service not the ambience or location"

  • "We went as a group of 7, within reasonable expectations, all of which were exceeded. The server was attentive and ordered all of dishes exactly the way we needed (food allergies). The food was hot, delicious and portions were perfect. We will definitely try Bloom again!"

  • "I had an Asian themed dinner at the bloom. restaurant. The restaurant is run by the Conestoga College as a student kitchen. The food is decent, students had few good tries at the Asian cuisine, including steamed baozi, chicken satay and mie goreng. Overall, the food is a bit too salty and did not come out as authentically Asian. It was still very much enjoyable given the attentive service and a good drink menu. The whole dining area is located in a windowless classroom, a bit tacky. But you need to appreciate it for what it is as a student demo restaurant. $60 for app+main+desert for two."

  • "They respond to special events and seating very quickly and expertly, we had a special treat for our 42th wedding anniversary dinner just recently, the cake was absolutely delightful, ate every last crumb, chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate, like chocolate heaven."

  • "The food was delicious, the food presentation was chef-quality, the service was very attentive, prompt, and not invasive, the atmosphere was pleasant and quiet, the food cost was surprisingly affordable and very reasonable. The wine was great and not overpriced. Overall, a great night out and experience to make us want to come back for more."

  • "Service was a little slow and mixed up, Beans in the soup were under cooked. But over all, it was a nice meal and we would go back."

  • "First time visit for my friend and myself on her suggestion as a gift for her birthday. I was very pleased with the gift of our lunch at Bloom. The food and service were top notch, and we had lots if time in a quiet atmosphere to chat and enjoy our time together."

  • "Our wait staff was not good, didn't get water, or bread until we asked for it .. Our meal took a while for it to come out other table got served before us.. The dishes that came out were notexplained to us like the last time"

  • "I have been here a number of times, but I have to say I was disappointed this time with the quality of food. The menu was italian, and they had only one item that was a veg entree. I order the veg pizza and it came with a burned crust, topping were okay, but no flavour. Service was excellent, and reception cheerful. I would go again, but I would think the chef in charge should step up his supervision."

  • "The experience started out a bit on the negative side - but when the main meal arrived - outstanding - the beef you could cut with a butter knife - done to perfection - compliments to the chef. The wait staff have a few things to work on ... we had to ask for bread twice and when arrived no butter - had to ask for that. Wait staff need to serve properly and not reach over for client's dishes to serve others, they need to be aware of filling up water, bread and wine. The floor manager was great and very good at keeping everyone comfortable and his advice towards wine selection was excellent. We are returning for the Asian evening with another couple and are confident in another fine meal."

  • "This was a special evening and we've been to Bloom a few times in the past. Just as before, we were very happy with the quality of the meal and with the enthusiastic attention we received from the servers/staff of the Bloom restaurant. We had a good time. Of note - the young lady who prepared our Caesar Salad gave us a history of the Caesar Salad as she was creating it. That little touch was fun and added to the occasion. Thank you!"

  • "This was our first time to Blooms. We had the beef tenderloin which was superb. I am gluten intolerant and Blooms has great options. Just let them know when making your reservations. We had read some of the reviews and were a little hesitant. We went with the attitude that these are students learning the trade . Our waitress was very attentive and the hostess as well. The meal was delicous and our dessert was cherries jubilee, done to perfection. I would highly recommend Blooms. The price is fantastic and the experience was delightful."

  • "Overall a nice evening out. Chicken dish was bland however and presentation was the same. Pork dish was OK but was heavy on the flavour of Sage. A matter of personal taste I suppose. Would we try again, absolutely and will do this season."

  • "The best value in KW . We have never been disappointed here the food service and ambiance are always very good the students always do a great job, I can't say the same for some of the "upscale place we have been to here which are often over priced, poor service and mediocre food. KUDOS to the students and the faculty at Conestoga College. Reservation system and reminder are also great add on to service."

  • "We enjoyed our experience, as usual. The students make a real effort to make guests feel welcome and I appreciate that very much. The onion soup was stellar, but the rest of the meal wasn't. The under-seasoned pork was not hot enough and the mixture of "ancient grains" was dull. There was no chutney on the plate. Also, two pieces of pork would have been adequate for lunch. My friends enjoyed the creme caramel. My ice cream (ice milk?) was frozen solid -- it had been plated and then popped in a freezer, without the raspberry coulis or cookies. This was the moment when the server faltered. I pointed out that the ice cream was inedible and wondered about the missing components. I got a deer-in-the-headlights response and she wandered off."

  • "Great Job everyone, just need to remember your a team. Even if it is not your job if you walk by a table that needs water fill up the cup. It was your first service of the semester so other than that it was amazing. Keep up the good work."

  • "We found the pear and parsnip soup to be flavorful but it needed a touch of unctuousness, some yoghurt perhaps, given that it was lightly curried. The flan had garlic in it, usually a big mistake in a custard, especially since two of us got big, off-putting mouthfuls of garlic. In such a small flan I would have chopped the mushrooms more finely. The osso buco was tasty but not tender. The saffron-infused risotto was gummy and too al dente. On two of our plates the carrot coins were burned black on one side -- the hidden side. That was naughty. The dessert was pleasant but needed some serious dark chocolate. The coffee was great. The servers were terrific. We were charmed by how seriously they seemed to take their work."

  • "As always Bloom was top notch, their are some limitations primarily due to the fact that the facility is the product of Conestoga College's school for catering. Carry on with the good work."

  • "I suggest that this restaurant only being open for six weeks this term, and operated by students, would put most retaurants to shame. Great food, service was good if a little nervous. Can't wait to go back. Well done to the faculty and students. Ian john"

  • "Again a delightful experience at Blooms. Will continue to avail ourselves of this hidden treasure this coming Spring when the restaurant starts up again. One incident we could have done without.......at the end of the meal we were presented with the bill by our lovely efficient server and we included coin with the payment. Suddenly, out of the blue another person dashed over literally grabbed the payment containers and in doing so scattered all the coins over the carpet. She had not attended our table during the luncheon and our server came over to the table and quietly expressed some surprise at the interference. Miss 'overenthusiastic" ignored her and continued to the cashier desk."

  • "My mother and I enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Bloom last week - excellent and unexpected flavours thoughtfully presented. The meal and experience were worth far more than our wee check reflected. I noted an allergy in my Open Table reservation and expected it would preclude me from enjoying some elements of the meal given the set menu. Upon arrival, the server was aware of my allergy, which was accommodated in every element of every dish! A special portion of the menu dessert had been prepared, which was such a nice surprise. Beyond the personal attention, everything we were served was wonderful and beautifully presented. These are obviously passionate professional chefs with very bright futures - hopefully we can keep them in the K-W area!"

  • "My wife and I enjoy eating at Bloom because of its unique experience. The students of Conestoga College getting hands on experience from the public, makes the dinner that much more satisfying. Good food, great price and solid efforts from all how helped us out. We will be back again to see where these young Hospitality & Culinary students progress to."
