They were right; the food is awesome, the service is outstanding and it is very enjoyable place to have lunch. The tables are well spaced and I could hear the conversation at the table. The food was some of the best we have had at a restaurant in some time. We really liked the idea of the locally sourced food. We shared the Beet Salad to start. My husband had the Alberta Rib Eye and I enjoyed the herb crusted halibut. Both were delicious! Portions sizes are perfect for us as we are not into huge portions but after the salad and our meals we did not have room for dessert so we went to our concert and returned for a cheese plate and port. Wine list excellent - great selection of half bottles which is nice when there is just 2 dining! Excellent chef, sophisticated cuisine, friendly and competent staff (a rare occurrence in Calgary) and absence of the arrogance characterizing a restaurant a few doors down on the same street. Excellent wines at a very reasonable cost as compared to most other upscale Calgary restaurants (e.g., I chose a superb Italian wine at $43 per bottle). While many Calgary restaurants offer great food and wine, what sets Blink apart is that you also get comfortable seating, from the chairs & benches to tables that are not squished. We had 6 adults that actually sat at a single table for 6 (not 2 moved together). PLUS we could easily carry on a conversation! Energetic background noise and music but lower volume was extremely delightful.
Finally the service was second to none! Friendly, funny, helpful and never overbearing.

I consider myself a bit of a foodie and this was really good.My partner had the beef tenderloin-amazing! I had a striped bass with gnocchi, it was divine! The only let down was the dessert.
