  • "Intimate and congenial spot with excellent Mediterranean food, good service, great drinks and wine."

  • "We had the fried calamari and it was excellent. Ordered a Sonoma Chardonnay and it was really buttery and excellent. I ordered the salmon and it was out of this world."

  • "Ready when we arrived for our reservation, service was very good, food was excellent and we liked the ambiance. Nothing was apparently working too hard but the results of all the behind the scenes efforts resulted in really good dining experience."

  • "Farm fresh salads, authentic Greek cuisine, creative and delicious desserts. Service was friendly, prompt and server was very knowledgeable on wine pairings."

  • "Everything was great! We have never had anything that we didn't love"

  • "I met an old friend for lunch at bleu olive. We had a lot to talk about so, the waiter suggested we put our menus off to the side when we were ready to order rather than interrupt our conversation. I was very grateful for the consideration. He was very attentive without being intrusive or trying to usher us out as soon as possible. The food was great and well priced. The ambiance was delightful. I am so glad I chose bleu olive for this special reunion lunch and I will be frequenting and recommending this restaurant to everyone I know!"

  • "great coffee creme brulee. Moussaka seemed to use shredded lamb and potatoes. Greek shrimp had big taste of marinated olives."

  • "This was our 4th or 5th time eating dinner at Bleu Olive. The food was still very good, but the service was disappointing. One of our party of five didn't get his dinner until 5-10 minutes after the rest of our table had our entrees; the waiter didn't bring a steak knife with the steak; had to wait for quite a while for drinks to be delivered to our table. All in all, service inattentive and poor. Hope this will be remedied or we will rethink coming back."

  • " Bleu Olive is absolutely my fav dining spot! It is the only spot in the Triangle that accommodates my food allergies without any trouble. The service is great and the food divine!!"

  • "This restaurant is definitely on the right track. I was surprised because the area is not known for upscale. The area is built up by one of the local health centers that opened services. Again, the restaurant seems to be trying upscale, and I think they are almost there. The menu has several, well described choices. I had the chicken schwarma and my colleague had the bleu burger. Both were good, not outstanding. The service was fairly quick, but I have to say that our server did not make us feel welcome, we were clearly an inconvenience to her. We even needed to ask to get flatware. With a little more effort, this place can be a gem instead of a decent lunch spot."

  • "After having a number of good meals here, I took a friend out for a Sunday brunch. I ordered the linguine with shrimp. It was excellent, as always. I asked the waiter if the meal came with any bread. He told me there would be an extra charge. I declined the offer. I spent nearly $35 there and I thought it was very tight of the restaurant not to add in a couple pieces of bread on a Sunday afternoon. I was not going to say anything publicly about this, but I sent the restaurant a communication about this on its web-site and never got a response."

  • "Our second visit to Bleu Olive confirmed its reputation for very good food preparation and presentation. Unfortunately, the ambiance is merely par for a shopping-center based neighborhood eatery, and the service less accommodating than one would expect even in the rudest souvlaki shack. We will not be back."

  • "I enjoyed having lunch with two friends at Bleu Olive and recommend it highly for business lunches as well as casual get togethers. I especially enjoyed the Greek dishes. I had spanakopita and a wonderful beet soup. I am over 70 and have a little trouble hearing above the noise, but this is an ideal spot for quieter outdoor dining in good weather. The proximity to several Duke clinics should make this an ideal venue for those with appointments nearby."

  • "Bleu Olive is a pleasant dining venue for a somewhat causal, relaxed dining experience. It offers a strong Greek influenced menu with an additional array of Mediterranean coastal choices. We were there on a Friday night with reservations made on-line thru OpenTable for 7:30 PM. Upon arrival, several tables were still open and the hostess did not even check for our reservation before seating us. Their alcohol beverage service offered only moderate “pours” compared to what we have experienced at other area restaurants… and our waiter made us aware that we could order doubles! Their beverage service did not portray the proper ‘first impression” as we began our evening there."

  • "Located in a small strip shopping center, this is a gem of a restaurant if you like Mediterranean. They offer great food in good sized portions and wonderful service."

  • "This was our 1st time eating at the restaurant and we went there because we had heard great things about it. We were not disappointed. We ordered a 1st course of 4 appetizer plates for the 3 of us, which we shared: the grilled octopus was my favorite in the group, but all were delicious. The appetizers, together with the 4 different types of spread for the bread, were nearly a meal in themselves. However, we wanted to see what else the restaurant could do, and so ordered 2 main courses and one more appetizer course, which we also shared. We agreed it was one of the best meals we've had in the area and would highly recommend it to our friends."

  • "Food was excellent. It is our newest favorite restaurant. Way to go! Only disappointment was an entree advertised during restaurant week was not available. "

  • "Our introduction to Bleu Olive was during the recent Restaurant Week, and everyone in my party ordered from the set menu for the week. Allowing a bit more leeway for the full house, the service was still very attentive and professional. Our fingers were absolutely delicious, especially the fish dish, which featured a fish similar to corvino, on a bed of orzo, topped with seasoned vegetables. The flavors blended perfectly. The wine pairings complimented the courses delightfully. The chocolate peanut butter torte was heavenly. Although we did not order from the regular menu, the offerings sounded intriguing. We will definitely return, and we highly recommend Bleu Olive."

  • "We brought, first time, visiting friends to Bleu Olive for dinner and they were thrilled. Stuffed grape leaves were delicious. The avogolemino soup was a perfect valance of lemon and chicken flavor. The stuffed chicken with spinach and feta was remarkably moist and flavorful. The chocolate desert and crime bru let were a perfect way to top off another delightful visit to Bleu Olive. The service was completely attentive but not overbearing. What a great pkace for a dinner with family or friends."

  • "Reserved a table for a business dinner. Upon arrival, we were promptly taken to our table, which was directly in front of the kitchen and noisier than we wanted. I asked for a table to the side, explaining this was a business dinnner, and pointed to one of the tables off to the side. The hostess said that would be fine and started to walk us over there. Another restaurant employee stopped her and stated that table was reserved. At that point, we were seated at the table we were initially taken to, in front of the kitchen. There were many other tables available in the restaurant, but there was no willingness to accomodate our request. The server was very knowledgeable and helpful and the food was great. "

  • "We met two other couples here and it happened to be during Triangle Restaurant week. We all ordered the three course dinner, half of us got the lamb and half the mahi. Every course was excellent and the wine pairing were perfect. The blueberry creme brûlée was a great finale with the sparking dessert wine. We will go back soon!"

  • "Although the wait staff tried hard Bleu Olive didn't live up to our expectations in either food quality or in service. The restaurant was busy- it was Restaurant Week in Durham- but that does not make up for less than stellar food and inconsistent service. The Beet Salad was great but the other dishes- the risotto and the fish special -were not up to par."

  • "Restaurant week menu was from main menu so you can experience the amazing peppers, capers creamy sauce over fish anytime. And sigh in pleasure after your first bite of chocolate hazelnut ganache . Outside eating looks on a parking lot but is away from traffic and surprisingly pleasant. I recommend the sparkling Shiraz, which was a recommended pairing with dessert. Enjoy!"

  • "Food was awesome! Husband was very impressed with his straight up martini and my blood orange martini was very tasty. They were both a very good size so did not feel ripped off. The spread sampler appetizer was very good. My husband had the lamb loin, I had the lamb/pasta dish. They were both very good. For dessert, my husband had rice pudding, which he enjoyed. I had the creme brulee sampler and I loved it. We had the lowest priced bottle of Greek red wine which did not seem overpriced. It was better after it had been open a while. The service: did not refill water, did not refill wine, dirty dishes started to pile up on the table, should have let the wine breathe a bit before serving. For the money, service should be impeccable."

  • "The restaurant was great, as was the food and the service - it always is! Unfortunately, I chose to dine outside and there were two very loud and vulgar women who were smoking and cursing while they were very near my table (not patrons of Bleu Olive). I thought maybe someone from the restaurant might intervene, but I'm not sure that they could. Probably won't eat outside again."

  • "The first time my dinner was not good. The fish of the day was skate and part of a dish that was prepared Plaki style. The fish did not hold up to this dish and I left most of my dinner over. I told the waitress that we have come to the restaurant many times and this was the first time that my dinner was not edible. She apologized but I think that wasn't enough. "

  • "The food is excellent, the service attentive, and the ambience is soothing. I ordered a mixed drink that I liked on a previous visit and when it arrived, it was quite different because they'd changed their recipe. The server noted my surprise, asked me questions to figure out the problem, went back to the bar, and brought me a new one using the old recipe, no charge. The avagalemono soup is lick-the-bowl amazing."

  • "There were 6 of us for dinner. The Greek salad was very good. The entrees were excellent. The Bread was fair at best. Our server was great, both knowledgeable and responsive. For parties of 6 or more they add gratuity which I always feel is rude. Overall I would recommend it."

  • "A friend and I went to lunch here last month and it was average at best. The food was fine, but nothing special. The server seemed uninterested in being friendly. I would say it was nothing special and I won't return."

  • "We went to Bleu Olive with friends to celebrate my birthday. They had never heard of it; we had been there only once. The food was terrific --all the appetizers were great and the entrees delicious. Particularly outstanding were the sauce for the mussels appetizer, the fried oysters, the lamb bolognese, the lamb loin, the lamb burger, the shrimp dish with orzo, the paella, and the cheesecake. We were a party of six, and we had a round table, which we always prefer. We were in the back room that has only 3 tables, so the main room might be noisier, but it was easy to talk in our room. Our server was great-available but not hovering. All in all a great place for a lovely night out."

  • "We were not disappointed. The hostess and wait staff were very friendly and inviting. The food presentation was excellent. We had difficulty deciding what to select! Booth seating would make it more romantic for special occasions. "

  • "I have to express my dismay when we arrived on Mother's Day to discover it was a buffet. I chose the restaurant because they did not advertise a buffet on their website. I was told that when people called to make their reservation they were informed of the buffet. I told them I had made my reservations through Open Table and there was no mention of a buffet. They said I was welcome to go elsewhere. Obviously on Mother's Day that was not an option. We were seated at a table in the bar and all of the patrons lined up there for the buffet so we were crowded and it was very noisy. The food was only fair-a huge disappointment for $28 per person. After waiting on line for about 8 -10 minutes to get food, some items were empty. "

  • "The internet site indicated this restaurant was a "$$", meaning it would be $30 each, including one drink, entrée and dessert. Don't think that is even close. Dinner for 2 for us was $94.00. Wife had water, I had Bud Lites, each had entrée with soup for her and salad for me, shared dessert and two coffees."

  • "We decided to start a journey across the restaurants in "taste" magazine (durham/chapel Hill). This was a great choice. The food was excellent. We had spread tastings, sautéed calamari, lamb bolognaise, moussaka, and baklava. The portions are large, so we couldn't eat it all and brought some home. The server was attentive, but not Omni present. She was very knowledgeable about the menu. Overall it was a great experience and we will come back again with friends."
