We are regulars at BLD. This time the service was really bad. Food was good, but not as good as usual. We know the manager, Anwar. Well, he WAS the manager. Now he's been promoted (good for him! Very nice guy!) but we fear the restaurant is suffering. Hope this was just an off night and not a pattern of things to come...

Been here couple times for breakfast/brunch. Wanted to try dinner but I didn't like it at all. Food was salty braised beef. Pasta was meh- ... service was nice. not much on the menu either. I'd only come back for breakfast.

Was promptly seated for our 10:30 am Brunch reservation and service was attentive. The Bloody Marys were potent and the brunch menu is as varied as you could want - everything from a Fried Egg Sandwich to awesome Huevos Rancheros and good, traditional Eggs Benedict. I went with my grown kids, but there were several baby strollers and snugglies in the dining room and all were having a great brunch in a nice, casual atmosphere.

I heard of BLD thru friends and Chef Neal Fraser on Top Chef Masters. Was expecting "wow". It was fine but nothing special. The waiter suggested my salmon be cooked to med well. That is a sign of worry. I asked for med rare. It arrive very med. My date's kale salad was the only wow of the night. My caesar was a solid starter. We came for dinner. Maybe I should try brunch or lunch. Ambiance would be better suited for those dining hours. Thanks to OpenTable for the reservation though. I had been meaning to try this restaurant for awhile.

Excellent food. Great for those who eat Vegan and/or Gluten-free. Menu offers lots of choices. The trout was outstanding as was the Lamb Burger with a gluten-free bun, the braised short ribs, and the vegan chocolate cake. Wonderful service. Waitress was very knowledgeable. We cannot wait to return. Our new go to restaurant.

The food is always delicious. The menu is filled with fresh yummy takes on classics and original creations that will keep you kidding off of the "specials" menu. Skip it for brunch though because the less people that know how delicious the brunch is the easier it will be for me to get a table. Thanks!

Service was amazing! The server wasn't there all the time but had an eye for attention to deatil. Ambiance is a bit noisy, but I think that had something to do with dineLA. I do have a feeling that if you came during prime dinner time it would be busy anyway. Time between courses was a bit long.

The food here was delicious! For the appetizer, the lobster roll and the prosciutto fritters were presented beautifully & tasted amazing. For mains, I personally loved the duck confit ravioli. It was a well composed dish with a great ratio between the ravioli, duck, mushrooms & sauce. Finally, we ordered both the doughnuts & ice cream pie. Both were much "lighter" than expected and absolutely scrumptious--yum! We did decide that the lemon ice cream pie was the winner. The only thing was that our server was not very attentive and seemed quite nervous & awkward around us. He was a little odd and rather neglectful in relation to the business of the restaurant, which is the only reason it was a good rather than an excellent dining experience.

Enjoyed my meal here. The chicken and brussels sprouts and mushrooms deconstructed dinner dish was good. But service was a little slow for me. And although the food was good, I did not think it was worth the $25 for the plate. Just a good place to have dinner and drinks with some friends. But will certainly be looking for something a little less pricey next time.

I have been there many times.. It is a great go to on the way to the theatre and the wait staff was very considerate of the time constraint.. however I had the turkey burger which I had had before.. It was just OK.. being as it is Dine LA week, they had a limited menu and there were not a ton of chioces for me....I thought the waitress was a little cold and distant.....Have had much better waitress's in the past.. will go again..

BLD's DineLA menu has got to be one of the best deals in town! Food is innovative enough for foodies, & there were plenty of families also enjoying the relaxed ambience of a great neighborhood spot. Try any of the items on the DineLA menu and you won't be disappointed: Lobster roll, tomato and arugula salad, kobe beef tataki for starters; pan fried branzino, the veggie lobster mushroom with hand torn pasta, the surf/turf, the duck ravioli and for dessert, choice of lemon icebox cake or Guinness doughnuts. Wine pairings are extra. Great meal.

I've been to BLD for their brunch which was excellent, but being able to get the amount of food and the variety for 25 dollars during L.A. restaurant week was just outstanding. I LOVED the lobster roll, the branzino and even though I went with the crowd favorite and chose the donuts I actually didn't like them. BUT dessert was redeemed when my friend got then lemon ice cream pie! To die for! Loved it. I will go back for dinner again and I'm due for another brunch outing!

I had passed by this restaurant and always wanted to try it and thanks to DineLA, I was able to! I ended up waiting a long time for my party and the servers brought me water and were very gracious to me. When my party arrived and we were seated, the wait staff was attentive and speedy. They didn't rush us to make a decision and made suggestions. I had the duck ravioli and it was AAMAZINGGGG. I almost licked the plate it was so good. My husband & I were visiting LA and conducted a search of some of the areas best breakfast spots. BLD did not disappoint! Our server was delightful and helped us narrow down the choices from several items we were tempted to try. My husband loved his spanish omelet with red sweet peppers and chorizo--perhaps a tad too much chorizo, but fabulous flavor overall. I enjoyed the blueberry ricotta pancakes which had just the amount of sweetness and warmed syrup. There were two gigantic cakes. One would have been perfect for me. The decaf french press coffees was fantastic, too. There were abundant side options as well to suit any diet. We wished we had such a location back in Miami. Three cheers all around!

The service is exceptional there. I would say the servers are very helpful and nice but the food there for dinner is not great. We ordered the tacos (which was the special on Tuesday), the pork shank, the vegetable salad, the salmon, the prosciutto pizza. The pizza and the pork shank were okay but the rest was just not up to par.

Cooked to perfection on a bed of something delicious...but the chef's got a heavy salt hand. Service is attentive and helpful.
