  • "The wife and I visited the Blakeslee Inn for Sunday Brunch last weekend. First the omelet was outstanding. I am not an egg person but this was done as close to perfect an omelet as I’ve had. Soft and creamy on the inside with wonderful fillings. The mac and cheese was delicious. The roast beef carving was fantastic. My wife loved the cold lobster tails. Chef Mullin and his crew are doing a great job. We were allowed a taste of the salad special and it was worth the taste. Fresh Mozzarella, pickled lychee, micro greens, mint, simply delicious. I’d order it again if it’s on the menu. Michael, Amanda and the others made our brunch a wonderful event. We start vacation later this month and will visit the Inn again for sure."

  • "Surprising to find avante-garde cuisine in the Poconos; great food, but not as seasonal or as local as I have come to expect. Beer list was poorly organized and featured a dozen varieties of light lager (Coors, Labatt, Miller, etc.), some imports, and a few craft brews. We chose this restaurant because it claimed to have "microbrews", but the beer list itself was another story. That said, this was an unexpectedly great restaurant. The food was excellent, even if the dining room was a bit too dark and the beer list didn't quite meet expectations."

  • "We enjoyed another meal at Blakeslee Inn. My cocktail was delectable and Bruce's choice of beer for my wife was right on. I had the baby spinach and berry salad, great dressing. My wife had the cold crab tower and that was great. She let me have a small taste and it was delicious. She had the scallop special. Four huge diver scallops cooked to perfection. Accompanied by a seaweed salad it was a fantastic dish. I chose the chicken breast stuffed with cheese, roma tomatoes was great. The servicer Bruce was at his best. Can't say too much about the service. Thanks Mike and crew for a wonderful time"

  • "The menu is good and food is well prepared. We were a large group. The fish dishes were excellent. The pork was a bit too dry and did have the rich flavors I expected from the description (e.g. Szechuan peppers). The egg plant was excellent as a vegetarian choice. The wine list is good but not outstanding."

  • "The waitstaff aren't quite at the level of the food but thats ok. Seafood diavolo and lobster ravioli were excellent. Salads interesting with options for interesting vinaigrettes and cheeses. Wine options by the glass were good. Overall a very enjoyable meal though the dining room looks dated."

  • "Blakeslee Inn is an experience for people who appreciate great food & great service. Always consistent every time we go there. Mike the manager always makes you feel welcomed & appreciated. He is constantly involved thru out the entire restaurant. Jaret our server is probably the most attentive & knowledgeable server we have ever encounted in all of Pennsylvania. Our compliments to the chef as always. Blakeslee has finally got a perfect dining experience that no one should miss out on."

  • "Hate to say it but I was expecting a lot more. After so many glowing reviews I expected a true gem hidden in Blakeslee. Not sure if the usual chef was off that night but none of our dishes were "awesome", and some were not really edible. From overcooked calamari to Lobster and coconut bisque that had pollock strips in it (no lobster) covered with almost inedible "crispy kale" to a pasta aglia e olio that had no garlic and was overwhelmed with olive oil (it was hastily made after they brought my daughter bisque instead of the pasta she ordered), it was disappointing throughout. We didn't risk dessert. The wine was delivered but not served. Ever. Lackluster service, poor meal preparation, and way too expensive. Not sure I'd risk it again."

  • "We dined here on a Sunday night when it wasn't very busy BUT what a wonderful experience ! We have been in this area MANY times and never stopped in to see what it was all about. To bad for us ! The service was as good as anywhere we have eaten in New York . The food was beyond good as was the wine list and choice of dessert . The interesting aspect of this restaurant was that it is three places in one with two distinct menus in one area and a pub type area and menu in another. Very well done . All in all a diamond in the rough and one that anyone living locally or near by should take advantage of !"

  • "Don't let the outside appearance of this elegant restaurant deter you from enjoying a delectable culinary experience. The ambiance, service and most especially the food are definitely first class."

  • "Brunch here has many selections; made to order crepes and omelettes, carving board. When we were there the carving board was prime rib, which was a little to rare for me, but the chef took care of that!! And it was delicious!! Steamed crab legs, lobster tails--everything was just wonderful. Then there was the dessert selection....couldn't make up my mind---but be sure you leave room!!!"

  • "This was the first time my wife & I ate here. It is by far one of the best restaurants we have found in the Poconos in 14 years. Three great menus to choose from depending on your appetite & what your in the mood for. We picked something from all 3 so to experience all we could in 1 seating. Everything was amazing. To compliment the food was the excellent service from Bruce our waiter & our bus girl. To top the service part of it off was Mike the manager coming over, introducing himself & making sure all was good. I thank all for the excellent service & the chef & kitchen staff for the amazing dishes they put out. Don't miss out on the lamb lollipops, pork chop or pasta dishes. Thank you Blakeslee Inn. You will be seeing us often. "

  • "Brought our mother's for the mother's day brunch. Always really great. We actually had a four person reservation and called the day before to add another person. They were more than accommodating, even though they were full and not accepting reservations. The food was absolutely great and the new decor is beautiful."

  • "The Brunch was wonderful. The Cajun Turkey was tasty and the Skirt Steak was delicious also the catfish. The cold fish table was fantastic, love the oysters. I can't say too much about the service at BI. They know how to take care of their patrons. Looking forward to the next time eating at the Poconos best dining venue. "

  • "The kitchen was working out the kinks in their new seasonal menu. The choices were good, bur there were a few glitches - some bones in the red snapper, which also had a too-salty (for my palate) broth/sauce. "

  • "A great dining experience. Top notch service and food. Server was very accommodating and friendly. Beautiful presentation of food. Excellent chef and choices on menu perfect.Couldn't ask for more. Very comfortable and pleasing decor. Classy. Will definitely return, looking forward to trying their Sunday Brunch and Renova restaurant for Italian food. It is part of inn."

  • "Excellent waiter, but my red snapper was actually tough and for the price not up to par. That simple. So, disappointed at that price point in the fine dining room. My dinner companion said her salmon was very good, though."

  • "Although the food was great the service was terrible. 2 1/2 hrs. for dinner. Since it was a fixed menu there wa no excuse for 15-20 minute wait between courses. "

  • "Went to the Blakeslee Inn for Pocono Restaurant Week Dinner. We had a great dinner. The service was first rate. They treat the guest very attentively. Mike and his staff couldn’t treat us any better. The food was top notch. We love the Caesar Salad. The Fondue is delicious. The whole dinner was great. We will be voting for Blakeslee Inn for best in the Poconos. "

  • "Want to satisfy family or guests with varied food preferences? Visit the Blakeslee Inn for Sunday brunch. A variety of meat, fish and seafood, omelettes, waffles and crepes made at your request, along with many hot and cold sides, fresh fruit and desserts all served buffet style in a roomy (if rather dark) dining area. The staff is friendly and attentive, the food offerings constantly replenished. Those with big omnivorous appetites will find the $37+ per person cost a bargain----those with particular tastes and modest hunger may feel overcharged. While the buffet is nicely presented and quality is above the usual buffet chains, not quite gourmet fare, and happily without the formality and attitude that accompanies haute cuisine. "

  • "Congratulations Blakeslee Inn on another fantastic Easter Brunch. Chef Mullin and his enthusiastic crew has done another great job of preparing a wonderful meal. I understand you and your crew were up rather late Saturday night prepping, well it was worth the hard work. The whole family enjoyed the brunch. The fish was great. Deb loved the poached fish and the catfish. I thought the cold seafood was delightful. The lamb and ham were simply luscious, couldn’t be better. Same for the veggies and salad. We have come to expect great service; Mike, Bruce and the rest of the front of the house crew did not disappoint us. Thank You!! We have our reservations for Mother’s Day, so see you soon. "

  • "Had dinner at the Inn Thursday for my birthday. Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes. The food was fantastic. My wife had the tomato soup which was delicious. My Caesar salad was great. The wife chose the rib eye steak, it was cooked rare just like she likes. I had the pork strip steak. It was excellent. The service was top drawer as usual. Thanks to Mike, Bruce and all the staff for a great time. Also Chef Mullin, your food rocks."

  • "Had brunch at the Inn today. Everything was luscious. The Haddock was delicious, so were the clams. Deb & I loved the potato salad. (Wish Chef Mullin would share the recipe) The flank steak was great, rare just the way I like it. The infused Bloody Mary is terrific. Very smooth and peppery with the horseradish. If you like Bloody Mary you have to try them. Great job to all. See you all Easter, including Bruce and Mike we missed them today."

  • "The Inn does 2 wine dinners a year and we try not to miss either of them. It is near our vacation home so we dine there several times a year. It is the best restaurant in miles. We have never had a poor meal. Now that you can select from any of their 3 menus it adds to the pleasure. I like single malt scotches and this is the only location in that area that has any selection."

  • "We have been to the restaurant several times, the latest being the wine pairing dinner. It was very enjoyable and Mike did a great job pulling it all together. Ben, as always, is an entertaining server which only adds to the evening. We will be going back whether it is brunch, dinner or just a drink after work."

  • "Incredible meal on Saturday night. We decided on dinner here because of the other reviews that were posted, it was well worth the visit. * Unless you know the restaurant is there, you will drive right by the motel. * The 'foyer' when you first walk in, does look like a funeral home. * The food is top notch - I had the scallop/pork belly Surf-n-Turf - my wife had the salmon * The prices were a little high - but I didnt mind, as both the service and quality of the food were as good as any in NY or Philly We definitely did not expect such a good dinner in the Poconos We will be back"

  • "Celebrated St. Patty’s Day at the Blakeslee Inn Sunday. Great time. The Magic martini was superb. Vanilla vodka, Baily’s Irish Cream and cream de Mint. Ummmmm. We ate fried oysters, smoked salmon fried potato pancakes were all delicious. My shepherd’s pie and the wife’s corned beef and cabbage egg rolls were outstanding. The Baily’s Crem Brule was fantastic. Service as usual was on point. We had a wonderful meal. Thank You."

  • "Congratulations Blakeslee Inn, another wonderful Brunch. The cod was great as was the flank steak. Don’t know where chef Mullin gets the fruit but I wish I could get it, it’s delicious. Besides the great food the service is first class. Ben and all the service staff attend to your every need. Special thanks to Michael and Chris for the wonderful food. By the way the Bloody Mary was the best."

  • "The wife and I were at Blakeslee Inn Saturday night because we heard they had Elk on the menu. Well we would have gone anyway but we love elk. The elk rib eye was fantastic, tender and tasty. Chef Mullin knows how to prepare seafood but he also know how to cook game. My wife’s cinnamon raisin cookie martini was great. We could drink them all day. I can’t say enough about the service at the inn, from the hostess’, Michael and Bruce they make the experience at the Inn. Kudos to you all. Looking forward to our next dining experience at BI."

  • "The food is good but not worth the cost The drinks and food are overpriced. NYC it's not. It's the poconos. The main lobby looks like a funeral parlor"
    Dined on 2/21/2014
  • "The food was yummy, from salad main course and dessert. (Just as I remember from a previous visit, a few years back.) The remodeling made the room very dark with limited lighting which made reading the menu difficult . The wait staff was polite, friendly and knowledgeable about the food and drinks. Our party of four wanted a place with delicious food, good drinks and a chance to celebrate and catch up with each other, which is exactly what we got at the Blakeslee Inn. We would definitely return again."

  • "When you pull up to the Hotel you are not expecting to have a very high end meal. The wait staff was very friendly. The martini list was extensive. Both the Filet Mignon and Ribeye were excellent."

  • "As others have mentioned don't let the location (within a motel) turn you away. Although a little pricey for the area it was one of the best meals that I have ever tasted. I only gave it 4 stars for service but it wasn't the fault of the wait staff. The kitchen prep was slow (it was a Saturday night and there was a concurrent party in another room) but free dessert was provided for our delay. Will return when visiting the area again. Thank you"

  • "Don't let the motel look of the Inn scare you away--tried out this hidden gem in the Poconos and was surprised by the great menu and food. The Poconos tends to be a desert of bar food only type restaurants but the Blakeslee Inn stood out as an oasis of good food. The 3-hour cola braised pork shank was excellent as was the Jail Island Salmon. We enjoyed the stuffed fig appetizer and loved the butternut squash soup! The only ding was the waiter was friendly but not on top of it and the restaurant was chilly. Otherwise a great experience and we will definitely go back."

  • "We had a 7pm dinner reservation and the Classic dining room was not crowded. Our hostess offered to hang up my wife's coat. The food was excellent! The most memorable of what we ordered was the apple-squash soup, ribeye steak, fliet mignon steak and the desert sampler. Making the dining experience extra special was the chef's palate-cleansing offerings between courses. The prices for the steaks ($35) and ($36) were more than fair considering what other fine dining restaurants charge in the area. Our waiter was polite, moderateley attentive and a little inexperienced. All other restaurant staff were more than welcoming. The bartender greeted us at our table and recommended an excellent bottle of red wine for our steaks. We'll return."
