Didnt understand why we got charged a service charge (gratuity 20% on a takeout order) and the lady who took our order barely spoke english, therefore my order didnt turn out as I had requested.   • "This is simply a place to go if you're already on site at Fontaine Bleau and develop an itch for sushi. We made reservations for Sunday at 7pm, only to arrive to a literally empty restaurant. $9 for miso soup is a joke. On the positive side: - The specialty rolls (Chateau and Blade Roll) were both good. The "crispy" part of the chateau roll was missing, and so we solved that by stealing overflow tempura flakes from the blade roll. Worked out awesome. - Bluefin tuna was on the menu - Good saki selection - People watching, you can watch all the bikini clad people coming and going outside the window (casual environment) - Tightly rolled napkin expanding with hot water was a nice presentation touch - Waitress was great"

  • "We were expecting better! I have dined at every restaurant in the Fountainbleau Hotel and this one was a big disappoinment. I felt like I was in a high end cafeteria, the waiter took more then 15 minutes just to come greet us. The menu did not have much to choose from either. The food was ok but for the price, I thought I'd get more rolls!"

  • "The sushi at Blade was very good and the overall experience was wonderful. The atmosphere was relaxing and fun at the same time. What stood out most was the exceptional service (something that is rare in Miami Beach). Just keep in mind that gratuity is included (even though we were a table of 3). Our server made sure to tell us twice that gratuity was included. I would definitely recommend Blade and dine there again."

  • "6 adults. We had the Bleau, Chateau, and Geisha specialty roles. While they were better than average, just not amazing. The Kobe beef tatami and octopus and other appetizers were good, just a little insufficient. All-in-all, an above average but not overwhelming experience. Sushi menu should be expanded and more creative. The atmosphere was pleasant and fun, and the service was very good."

  • "Blade is a great Sushi spot located with a view of the Fontainebleau pool. Like everywhere at the Fontainebleau, the service is absolutely impeccable. The sushi is fresh, unique, and delicious. Personally, I found the Blade roll to be good--but I would not recommend it. While unusual, it was not my favorite flavor pairings. I would absolutely go back to Blade should I return to Miami Beach."

This was by far the most over priced menu that served portions that were microscopic. This was definitely one of the worst overall dining experiences of my life. It was also one of the most expensive. We left hungry and thoroughly disappointed."

Will definitely return soon Sushi was so fresh--best we've ever had Thank goodness Emma recommended the Dragon roll...INCREDIBLE!!! filled with shrimp, cucumbers and asparagus. We also were able to order from the Vida menu and decided on the Lemon Chipotle Duck and Honey Glazed Salmon. (Both wonderful) Can't wait to return"

  • "Very cool looking menus that light-up! Restauarant is a bit dark. And, although the sushi was fresh...the menu was quite limited. We expected more elaborate rolls. The prices are very high considering the size of the portions. The specialty rolls consisted of 6 small pcs. Vs the typical 8 large pcs found in other "top" sushi restaurants."

  • "I thought the sushi quality was excellent and the service very good. My appetizer was a just ok seaweed salad, my date had a good but slightly oily vegetable tempura. WeI ordered a sushi combination and rolls which were very fresh as expected in Miami. They also provided dessert on the house for my birthday, excellent key lime pie. I expected to be wowed because I was at the Fountainbleau instead I had a good sushi dinner. The hotel has several bars and restaurants and is a hot place to be in Miami Beach. If you've never been to the Fountainbleau you should check it out, and if while you're there you want sushi eat at Blade. I won't go to there just to eat at Blade."

  • "I liked the kid friendly atmosphere and smart casual dress code of Blade. However, the size of the scallop rolls was quite small and rather bland in taste. Shrimp tempura, which unlike many restaurants was not combined with unwanted vegetables, and lobster rolls were good. Found Blade overpriced for the quality and size of the rolls, as we had to order more than expected to suppliment what would have ordinarily sufficed. On a last note, service was rather slow and the waiter "did not get" my child's order when initially placed, so she was left waiting for her meal."

I would say the sushi has some interesting flavors and mix of ingredients, but as most sushi I have tried in the USA, the rice is not as sweet tasting, or doesn't stick together too well. If you try to the Bleau roll, take the onion off and it will taste much better. Do recommend the Tuna tataki. Overall I think the price is not worth the quality of the food, but it is a good option if you're staying at the Fontainebleau hotel."
