He had the Pork Belly Hash and had to search for any pork belly in the potatoes! It was minced so fine he could barely taste it. I liked the Southern Chicken & Biscuits but thought it should have included a side of fruit, instead of charging separately for a side. I thought the prices were a little high. The dishes are imaginative and well prepared, the service is cheerful and prompt, and the ambience is fine, if a bit noisy when the dining room is full. Lunches especially are a cut above the competition, especially for the interesting sandwiches with duck confit and bison meatloaf. My wife and I agree that it's one of the Ballantyne area's best lunch possibilities. They have a seasonal menu that has enough new and cutting edge choices for foodies, but enough down-to-earth for those who like basics. They have a great seafood selection, great beef, and a few chicken options. I think perhaps one or two more chicken dishes might be in order. The atmosphere is nice, but can get a bit loud near the bar area, but the back dining area is very quaint and warm. The service is excellent, and the staff is always very knowledgeable about the specials and the menu items. A manager will always come by during your visit and ask how things are. The food was cooked to perfection. I was surprised that it was not more busy - a hidden gem people are not completly aware of yet ! One the roof top opens I am sure they'll be filled to capacity.
