  • We selected the restaurant

We selected the restaurant for our anniversary dinner. It is a newer restaurant and looked nice on line. I ordered the sirloin and my wife ordered the filet both were the most expensive cuts on the menu. My cut was on the tough side and she thought hers was too dry. The total meal was in excess of $200 and that included a shared hors devours, two glasses of wine, two side dishes but no coffee or dessert. We thought it was too expensive for the quality and will not be back. It is a pleasant enough place so we will suggest it as an alternative for those seeking a steak house.

It was the first time dining at this steakhouse for my husband and I and when we walked in we loved the ambiance! The waiter was friendly and helpful and assisted in wine choices and dinner selections. We will definitely return, but with friends.

I know valentines day is very hectic for restaurants so I was prepared to be very lenient. Unfortunately I was not impressed. It looked like they forgot it was going up be extra crowded. The wait staff was all over the place and it was a free for all and it showed especially with the attitude we saw. We must of had 6 different people wait on us which gets annoying when asked if you have ordered yet 6 different times. We got stuck with a table right near the door and kept getting knocked into. The wine was ridiculously over-priced. The food was pretty good and enjoyable for the most part. I wouldn't recommend this place. Save some money and go to a place with a better wait staff and environment.

Good food, but not the stellar steak house that reviews have made it out to be. Also it's too pricey for Fairfield County - they're charging NYC prices for good, not great food. Entrees don't come with any sides - be prepared to spend an extra $7-10 for veggies, potatoes or salad. There is a good wine selection.

We enjoyed another evening at Blackstones. The filet mignon was tender and flavorful. My seared tuna was cooked perfectly. Caesar salad (which we split) was flavorful with a freshly sliced piece of cheese on it. Lucas, our waiter, always makes the experience festive.

I have eaten here a handful of times and always been pleased. I am writing today because i just took my two children with me for the first time and the staff was excellent about it. My children are 9 and 6 and well behaved. They are however picky eaters at times. UThe waiter was happy to make suggestions and accommodate all requests. The children's food was as tasty and elegantly presented as my own. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

One of Fairfield County's best kept secrets. Second to none. The service is impeccable. Without being intrusive, the attentive staff never keeps you waiting. This is the way a steakhouse is intended to be. Suberb food prepared to compliment the dish being prepared along with an excellent selection of wine.

Let me preface this by saying that I frequent steak houses, and am a major carnivore. Took my parents here for what we'd hoped would be a pleasant dinner out for quality steaks - it was our first time at Blackstones. Food-wise my parents enjoyed the lamb chops and double cut veal, however my porterhouse was overlooked for medium rare and not at the level of quality I expected for the prices they charge. That coupled with inconsistent and sometimes even rude/inconsiderate service, means that we'll be going elsewhere when we want to go to a steakhouse. Steak lovers are strongly advised to go anywhere else...

We had dinner here on a busy saturday night in December with friends who are repeat customers. We were a group of 8, and the wait staff was *amazing* from start to finish. The food - where do I begin - how many stars can I give this place? The food was top notch, everything was cooked perfectly and beautifully presented. The steaks are BIG, so come hungry -- but they are so well prepared and delicious, you'll eat more than you think. The bone-in prime rib ($45) was absolutely killer, and worth every penny. Ditto for the (huge) porterhouse. The fish on the menu looked/sounded fantastic, but since I was at a steak house, I stuck with steak. I cannot WAIT to go back, although given the bill, it won't be often -- special occasions!

Waiter wanted to rush us out; continually tried to push us into ordering all of our food when we specifically told him we wanted to take our time. Very very unhappy with the poor service or capacity for the waitstaff to understand that we wanted to spend time with our company before we ordered or ate. With tip of 20% the meal for 3 people without alcohol came to $360. For the price of there food to be this high they had better step up the quality of service instead of treating their restaurant like a diner trying to turn over tables as fast as possible. Food was below par for the price.

This was the most disappointing of our four visits this year. Despite having reservation, had to wait 45 minutes for a table although told several times would need five minutes more to seat us. Then waited another hour from placing order to receiving food. Twice had to return wine as not being good. Service mediocre. Believe they could not cope with a full restaurant. This was not like our previous experiences, so off of my favorite restaurant list.

I am a great Steakhouse lover having been raised on Peter Luger's porterhouse. I have been to Blackstones more times than I can count and I would say that it is every bit as good as Lugers without the 3 hour round trip drive. Lugers is in the Steakhouse "Hall of Fame" but give Blackstones some years and they will be there as well. The dry aged steak is served on the same sizzling platters and the hash browns and creamed spinach are absolutely fantastic. I also found something Lugers does NOT have and that is the Clams Casino. In addition Blackstones gives me that warm neighborhood feeling you cannot get at any of the the NY restaurants. It really feels like "Cheers" because everone really does know my name.

A friend, who lives in Stamford, and I (who live in Westport) were looking for a steakhouse … spouses and kids were away. We needed alcohol, steaks, and wine (not necessarily in that order). We could go to Stamford or Bridgeport and get great meals, but we decided to "split the difference." We are both very happy that we did! This is an "out of the way" location, in a small strip mall on Main Street, away from the road, so make certain that your GPS is on. However, once one arrives, they will find this to be a real pleasure. A standard steakhouse menu, but all is very well prepared. An extensive California wine list (with representative selections from elsewhere). Great service, no rush, no fuss. We'll certainly be back again.

A New York steakhouse without the attitude. Steaks and sides were as good as anything I have had at any of the "classic" steakhouses. Don't be put off by the location in a Shopping Center. Inside is well done and makes you forget anything that's outside. For years Ive labored to get in to NYC to have a proper group or business Steak dinner. Save the trip. enjoy!
