The actual food service was impeccable, how this restaurant is in a neighborhood that isn't anywhere near a Metro Station and taxis don't service. We had the restaurant call repeatedly and FINALLY after a 45 minute wait outside (the day was beautiful) we flagged down an off duty taxi who took pity on us. So this marred an otherwise perfect experience for us. If you're an out of town visitor, think twice about the brunch. The physical space is arranged well and the seating is comfortable. Kudos to the management and staff - every single person who approached us focused on us and was welcoming. The brunch dishes were original without being weird and were very fresh and very good. Parking was not difficult. I can go years in between such experiences. We've had some good meals in our time (including Italy, France) but the meal we had at Black Salt was OFF THE CHARTS possibly the best meal we have had in our lifetime (and our bday boy was 59!). Top to bottom excellent: from accomodating food allergies/preferences, to the superb dishes and perfectly selected wines, to great service. Each course (5!) was more exquisite than the one before it, culminating in off-the-charts deserts (3!). We were left speechless. The only downside was that the backroom got extremely loud when full - but after some tables left things quieted down - since we were there for 4 hours! All I did was note in my OpenTable reservation that it was for my friend's birthday, and they gave us the best table in the house, printed special menus with my friend's name on it, and were extremely attentive. The food was unbelievable. If you can, I highly recommend going with the "chef's choice" preparation - a surprise that never disappoints. We brought one bottle of wine and he knew from that what we would like and was spot on.
