Everything was scrumptious and the brunch drinks were tasty, too. The crepe station was well stocked with fresh fruit and freshly made whipped cream. All three of us ended up ordering seafood dishes and shared the Thai mussels for appetizer. All four dishes were uniformly outstanding. The combinations of the seafood and its accompaniments were very imaginative, e.g., grilled mountain trout over a bed of greens and mashed sweet potatoes. Service was cheerful and friendly but not overbearing. Great dining experience. But it's always very good. The food is not exciting, but it's always fresh and well prepared and it's not grotesquely over-priced. The server was very knowledgeable and helpful with remmendations, but the service was unusually slow. It took a while to get our wine then the oysters and then our meals. We have been to other Black's restaurants, so glad we finally made it to the Bar and Kitchen. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and the wines. This time I brought a first-timer who says Black's is now his favorite spot. We started with a glass of prosecco. Very good. Then, always, we had Addie's mussels. LOVE THESE MUSSELS! Serving it with a loaf of warm bread to sop up the perfect juice is genius -- I wouldn't want to miss a drop! The sommelier helped with a nice wine selection, we shared some oysters, all perfectly presented and served. Our server was attentive without being pesky - a difficult line for most. I ordered the fillet and my friend the tuna and both were delicious! The sides of mashed potatoes and asparagus were also exceptional.

They printed "Happy 50th Birthday" at the top of our menus and nicely but quietly brought a candle to the table and some nice take away dessert treats. It was a very nice meal - the wait staff was very attentive and efficient. Recommendations were spot on. The fish dishes were beautifully seasoned and well executed. We had a very lovely evening.
