    Black Cat will be hosting a wine dinner with two exciting biodynamic wineries from Italy.
    First is San Fereolo from Piemonte, a winery whose commitment to making serious wine from the local dolcetto grape has garnered international recognition. San Fereolo's Dolcetto Superiore wine is aged in casks for 2 years and is one of the most powerful wines being made from the grape today.
    The second is Fattoria San Lorenzo from Le Marche. The most fascinating of their wines is the Il San Lorenzo, a 100% verdicchio wine aged on its lees for 10 years and produced in only the best years.
    Both wineries are biodynamic, a method which aims to improve the health of land and its surrounding ecosystem through farming.
    Please join us for an 8 course meal with Amy Wadman, Natalino Crognaletti, and Mirco Lucamarini featuring Black Cat Farm chicken, pork, lamb, and produce.

A word from Black Cat
Black Cat Farm Table Bistro serves inspired, organic cuisine based on the just-picked produce from its own 130 acre farm. By day, Chef-Farmer Eric Skokan cares for the vegetables out in his fields. Each evening finds him in the kitchen crafting dishes on his daily changing menu.
The restaurant's wine list places the great wines of the world side-by-side with small, off-the-beaten-path producers from lesser-known regions. Daily pairing menus give our sommeliers ample opportunity to dip into the 400+ selection cellar, and vary in focus from Northern Italy to organic wines of the Pacific Northwest. Hand-crafted, seasonal cocktails featuring artisanal spirits and local ingredients show the talent of our professional mixologists who make our bar spring to life. The Black Cat has a lively, warm atmosphere in its intimate dining room.

Chef Eric was a kind, accommodating host, and served up an amazing tasting menu that was so much more affordable than anything I would find in my hometown. Being a farm-to-table establishment, the chef places a lot of unique embellishments that really enhance the food (arugula flowers, young coriander seeds, fresh herbs, etc.). The ambiance is relaxed yet refined, and the noise level is quiet. Highly recommended for great food and excellent service."

  • "We had a lovely meal at the Black Cat to celebrate our anniversary. We had the vegetarian tasting menu with wine pairings. The food is so fresh and creative. A few of the delicious courses were turnip soup, fresh ricotta with grilled peaches and local greens, vegetable curry, and berries and panna cotta. These things may sound like you've had them before, but with most of the food grown on Eric's Black Cat Farm and the inventive sauces and garnishes, every bit is a little taste explosion. Service is lovely and attentive. We also brought a dozen people here for a work event last month. There is a private room in the back that's perfect for 10-20 people. Everyone loved the food. They accommodated gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, etc. Yum"

We ordered the duck, rabbit and beef entrees. They were all beautifully prepared and presented at the table. Absolutely delicious! We will definitely be back to treat family and friends experience the joys of a Black Cat dining experience."

The dishes are expertly prepared and marvelously balanced flavors every single time. I would definitely recommend doing the tasting menu and allowing them to surprise with some truly amazing food. The wine list is ok - the problem is that you have to be prepared to pay to play. The starting point on bottle prices is pretty steep - unnecessarily so. There are plenty of great wines in the restaurant mark up price of less than $50 a bottle but you won't find any of them on their menu. "

  • "We all enjoyed the Chef's 7 course sampler of food and wine. Every bite was delicious and the wine sampling was a great learning experience with fabulous choices. The friendly staff moved around silently. The chef came by twice and discussed the farming aspect of the business and ingredients he chose. The sommelier had a vast knowledge of wines, grapes and reasons for the flavors. We all loved this special evening (4 hours) and will go back for other occasions. "

  • "Three friends chose the vegetarian tasting menu recently. Two of the dishes were outstanding, the others tasty but modest. As others have commented, the size of the portions is problematic: we all felt content but hungry at the end of the meal. Given the prices ($100+ per person), that is not acceptable. The bread was mediocre, not really focaccia as claimed. The wine list offers very few bottles under $70; there are so many great wine prospects out there that this should be addressed. I've lived in Boulder for decades, been to the Black Cat on other occasions, really support the farm-to-table ethos, but think other restaurants now surpass Black Cat at this price point. "

  • "It took us over 2:30 hours to "eat" dinner w/o dessert. First bad sign was it took ~30 mins after we ordered our 2 drinks before we got them. We did get a tasting menu, but it was about 20+ mins between each of the 4 courses. It took ~30 mins after our last tasting and our main course. No apologies or even mentioning of the long wait from the staff who are conceited or at best indifferent. Even took 20+ mins so we could pay our bill. Food was pretty good, but no better than other places nearby with a staff that cares. Bread was a lame focaccia that would have been better from the grocery store."

We were there for 3 hrs - not rushed through. They called the day before to confirm and asked if it was a special occasion. I told them it was our wedding anniversary and they gave us a complimentary glass of bubbling blush wine (made w/ pinot noir grapes) when we arrived. That was very nice touch. We ordered the Chef's tasting menu on a Monday night to celebrate my birthday, all of which needed to be gluten-free and mine also needed to be nut-free for allergy reasons. This was not simply "not a problem" for the staff, but they were pleased to help and provide a menu that we could enjoy without worry. Each course was fantastic, with our surprising favorite of the evening as the sweetbreads. I also loved the salt-cured fish we had, though a tiny bit of acid/lemon on it would have made it perfect. My fiancé enjoyed his wine pairings and we'll definitely recommend Black Cat and look to return when we're in the area again."

  • "We came here to celebrate my husband's birthday. We had never dined here before. My chef instructor at the Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts said it was 92% sustainable. I love the concept of zero waste. We had the 6 course chef tasting and was delighted. They were very accommodative with my husband's fish allergy and brought him a beet salad while I got the cured trout for one of our appetizers. From start to finish, each course surprised us with the robust flavors of spring and was beautifully presented by the knowledgeable staff. We were impressed that the sommelier asked how the course with oriechette was and relayed it back to the chef. We'll definitely return."
