When we lived in Doylestown this was my favorite place to eat. This time we stayed overnight having dinner and breakfast. Had the spinach salad with warm bacon dressing and the crab special. It was wonderful. We had a table by the window with a pretty view of the Delaware River. This is such a pretty old hotel. Can't wait to go back.

We have been coming to the Inn for a very long time especially on important occasions. While the food was as good as as always been the service was the opposite! Our waitress tried to keep up but was completely overloaded with way to many tables. Additionally the notice level made at very uncomfortable, some time ago the tables had tablecloth but recently the Inn Keeper or the GM decided to eliminate that added touch and instead your lunch or dinner is served an bare wooden tables which obviously is a savings procedure but in my opinion ( I have been a GM for over 35 yrs) a misplaced one since tha increases the noice level! Finally, when I asked to speak to the GM I was told " he is working outside on the Property " That's a very good place

The beet salad was a standout. Fish high quality, but we found all entrees over-sauced/flavored to an extent that worked against the fish and vegetables rather than complimenting them. An exception was the scallop dinner, rather poor quality on all counts. Staff gracious and helpful; vista awesome; fun to walk/run along the canal and in park across the bridge. Cool to stay over - breakfast included.

I'll keep this short and sweet. The Black Bass is a lovely restaurant, but is a little too expensive for my budget. Dinner for 4, with apps, entrees and desserts for all, plus a bottle of wine and tip, ran us $300. Apps run $9-$15, most entrees are over $30 each (some over $35), and desserts are $9 each. Service was excellent, but the restaurant is a tad bit crowded in certain areas (tables are a little too close together) and a little noisy. Our crab bisque lacked seasoning, but I thoroughly enjoyed the swordfish saltimbouco (sic?). Desserts were definitely very small (which, I suppose, is good for the waist-line), but $9 for three miniature cream puffs filled with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream seems rather excessive IMHO.

We hadn't been here since the flood. It had been a favorite of ours. The upgrades to the building were very tasteful and consistent with the original theme. From the cocktails through to the sinful Bananas Foster ice cream the food was top-notch. The menu had a nice variety without being overwhelming. Our server, Ken was very knowledgeable about the individual dishes and was always available without hovering. A thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Service was very fast. The food was good but quite expensive. I had the signature crab meat dish which was delicious but basically it is a 33 dollar bowl of soup with some vegetables on the side. My wife had swordfish which was a bit undercooked and she could not finish it. Our waitress was fantastic, the entire service staff from getting seated to paying was top notch, they get you in, seat you, and get you your food right away.

We went on a Sunday around 11 AM. Made reservations just 2 hours before. Very nice dining room with view of the river, menu had just enough variety to make choosing easy but didn't take long too decide. Lox were awesome, and steak and eggs was just right, mushroom glaze excellent. Free champagne made it quite nice as well. Very good overall.

We celebrated our anniversary this week so we wanted to go somewhere special. I heard good things about Black Bass and wanted to give it a try. It was the right choice...great ambiance, the menu had a great selection, and all of the specials were tempting. We ordered one of the specials - Chateaubriand for two with lump crab meat in a bearnaise sauce on top. The meat was very tender and the flavor was fantastic. The rest of the meal and service was great. I'd recommend it.

Have eaten there on numeous occasions, went for brunch. One choice was hamburger. I had ordered hamburger ala carte in the past. It was well prepared at that time. The hamburger served at brunch wassmall, thin and overcooked. Ironically, it was served on the same bun as the ala carte burger. I consider this a very suspect practice.peteylindy

We went to the Black Bass for my birthday dinner. At first we were a little disappointed to find that most people in the restaurant were in T-Shirts and Jeans as we were dressed to go out on for a nice Saturday Night dinner. The view, food and service are outstanding at this restaurant regardless of how other people dressed. I had the NY Strip Steak and it was done to perfection. I would highly recommend the Black Bass Hotel and we will definitely be returning (maybe not quite so dressed up the next time) in the near future.

The Black Bass Restaurant came highly recommended. Now I know why. First of all, the view is absolutely amazing. Overlooking the Delaware River, it's majestic. Secondly, the food was outstanding. I had the filet and it was tender, tasty and cooked to perfection. I also had the lump crab cake and simply the best crab cake I've eaten in quite some time. Lastly, the service was great, friendly and professional. If you ever get a chance this dining experience is highly memorable.

We arrived to a warm greeting by the hostess. We were taken to a wonderful table along the window where we were awed by a view of the Delaware River . Our server for the evening was Bev. She was attentive. There were several specials and Bev knew all of the answers to questions that we asked. We had the Horseradish Stuffed Shrimp. What a mouth watering app to start out with. My daughters boyfriend had a 16oz NY Strip Steak. I had the Sea Bass with crawfish. OMG is was out of this world. We were in awe that after every course the utensils were removed from the table and new utensils were placed on the table. We will be back and certainly ask for Bev to be our server. Great Job Black Bass. What an evening to enjoy there.

The Baby spinach salad with warm bacon dressing had ice cold bacon dressing. The $15 (yes $15) crab cake appetizer tasted average at best and did not contain any lumps of crabmeat, just an average blend of crab, breadcrumbs, mayo, etc. The main courses were very good, strip steak and grilled pork loin. We have dined here at least 5 time previously, but this experience was definitely a little disappointing especially given the menu prices. The ambiance is lovely.

The Black Bass is our special occasion restaurant but it was not up to its own normal standards this trip! There was a staffing issue and though our waitress was good and polite, during the whole evening we could overhear the ongoing drama of the staff problem.
