  • "reservation helped out due to it being fathers day didnt wait too long. sat down hostess was great. our waitress was the problem. she did not a knowledge us for 20 mins. once we got our drinks we ordered immediately. food took 35 mins to arrive. My steak came out rare, I ordered it well done. Waitress was rude and took the plate. I had to wait another 15 minutes to get my food. the manager brought my food out to me, didn't even apologize. Asked him for utensils, they were never brought to me. I had to walk over to the front area and get my own. It was truly a bad experience."

Our sampler platter and bread starters were very good but the main were not. The lobster tail was terribly overlooked and so was the salmon, despite the expense!"

I never regret ordering the filet mignon topped with mushrooms and blue cheese. There are a number of sides to choose from to go with your entre and they never fail to please. This restaurant has been in Ventura for a very long time probably because they do not lower their standards. I hope they remain in Ventura."

Our serves was really nice and made sure to have all our refreshments full. She made sure each course was brought out just how we asked. I liked that with our reservation we had less than 2 minutes to wait to be seated. I cannot wait to go back and enjoy that experience again."

The hostess offered no explanation. Our party had 3 children and I was shocked at how long everything took. Our server had a great attitude. By the time he came around we all knew what we wanted to order but he only took our drinknorders. Then he came back for our appetizer order. He had to come back again for dinner order and again for dessert. Had he taken our order for everything at once we may have been out of there in less than 2 hours. The food took a long time to cook even. The restaurant had customers but was not too busy."

I took my wife to Black Angus the day before Valentine's to bypass all the lines on Valentine's day, however, it appeared others had the same idea. Our waiter was cordial but seem to be in a hurry for us to make our selections. After finishing our appetizer we only saw him in passing as he provided service to other customers. He finally came to our table to take our order and it took at least 25 mins for our food to arrive. Somewhat frustrated by the wait, he finally noticed my dissatifaction and decided to bring our food. It was luke warm and not the hot meal that I've enjoyed there in the past. Good waiters can make or break a good dinning experience."

  • "Only downer was our waiter, although he was OK his accent was hard to understand and he spoke very fast and it did not seems we were his type of customers. He gave other across from us and next to us better service. He was able to speak Spanish to them and his spoken English did not come across to well. He did not give bad service but it was difficult to feel comfortable because he seems like to rush and get our service over. One of our steaks were over cooked and very dry, we returned it."

This place is quiet (the country music is low except in the rest rooms) and relaxing for lunch. Had the blackberry ginger ale, (ingredients not mixed well), wife had the strawberry lemonade."

  • "My husband, sister and I took my mother to Black Angus (her favorite restaurant) to celebrate her 75th birthday. Our table was ready on time, service was attentive while not "bothersome," and the food was delicious. The only minor food issue was that the steamed broccoli seemed to "have never seen heat," according to my mother. It was basically raw. She notified the wait staff, who promptly returned it to the kitchen and came back with broccoli that was just right. A very enjoyable evening!"
