Diner Reviews
  • "Every time we come here we have great service. The food is not cold, it's just right. Salads are cold and cooked food are cooked just right."

  • "Perfect portion sizes, didn't leave so full that we couldn't walk to the car!"

  • "Very enjoyable dining experience. The booth we were assigned to for my party of five was very comfortable and relaxing. Our server was professional and very accommodating."

  • "Once again, our OT reservation allowed us to walk right to our booth. Prime rib special on Wed. night was good. Perfect amount of food + mud pie for dessert. If you register for Black Angus' "Prime Club," they'll email a certificate for a complimentary birthday entree up to $20.99!"

  • "The food here is always great, and so is the service. There are always great deals and coupons available, too. It's a great place to go for a steak dinner followed by a tasty dessert."
    Dined on 7/7/2014
  • "I give the service only 3 stars as the waitress was pretty good but our entrees were brought to the table after we had just started our salads. Our steaks were cooked correctly this time - only because I ordered rare instead of medium rare which is how I prefer it cooked. It came medium rare - perfect. The grilled artichoke and the sauces are fantastic. The "cowboy cookie" and ice cream is always great. We really enjoy the tall individual booths as we feel our conversations are private and we aren't having to speak louder to override conversations from other tables or booths. We will continue to eat here as long as we have a coupon for the Camfire Feast Dinner for Two. Without the coupon - would be pricey."

  • "With a coupon easily located online (google: Black Angus Coupon) you can get a shared appetizer, a shared dessert and two entrees each with two sides for $40. I enjoy their prime rib, as well as the New York strip."

  • "Our family goes to Black Angus on special occasions, usually when they have good coupons available so that we're saving some money. (Without coupons, I consider it to be a tad overpriced.) The steaks are usually good, and cooked to your specification, but sometimes they do get it a bit off. I would err on the side of ordering your steak a little ordering it "down" in terms of rareness. As is, if you wanted medium well, ask for medium. That way, with the residual heat on the hot plate it will come to medium well. My husband's steak was seasoned; mine was not. I would have preferred a bit more flavor. The rest of the meal was good-- shrimp was nicely grilled, potatoes were good. Oh, the only negative is that their soups are SALTY."

  • "I have been to the Black Angus steakhouse throughout the Los Angeles area and San Jose CA areas for many years. Every location provides a terrific dining experience. Throughout their menu, the Prime Rib and outstanding Steaks as well as their Crispy Shrimp, Salmon and Chicken dishes, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. From the time you get in the door, you are treated as a welcomed guest. The ambiance is elegant but people come into these restaurants from celebrating an Anniversary, Birthday, to just wanted to have a great meal. I have seen people people dressed up, down to jeans and t-shirts.Families and kids are surely welcome as well. To top it off, there is a bar area with flat screens to watch games and eat some appetizers."

  • "The campfire feast coupon for two dinners is a great deal. NY steak was right there with top steak joints. No complaints whatsoever."

  • "Great restaurant for a dinner out. Can be casual or neat casual. Have celebrated occasions here. A lot of private booths so not sitting on top of people eating next to you. Coupons in throwaways make the meals more affordable. Campfire for two is great option."

  • "No fat around edges, perfectly cooked. Veggies also perfectly cooked."

  • "It has been awhile, but there is a reason Black Angus is still around! Top notch all the way, the steaks were cooked excellently for the entire family and the portions are really big! Lots of food to take home, easily to walk away full since there is too much food."

  • "As always very happy and full! Great drinks, appetizers and steaks!"

  • "Service was S L O W. They must have gone to the Gulf to catch the shrimp while we waited for our order. Service is usually much better here."
    Dined on 6/19/2014
  • "The food is great! The service has improved greatly . I continue to go back"

  • "Disappointed had to wait 30 min even with a reservation."

  • "I made reservations for 6:30 pm on Father's day. It was me and my folks. We weren't seated till about 7:15, but it was understandable; the place was PACKED. Once we were seated in our comfortable booth, we were warmly greeted by our waitress for the evening, Maritza I believe was her name; she was excellent. We all shared the sampler platter and ordered our own steak dinners. No complaints in that departments, our meals were delicious. Unfortunately, we had no room for dessert, but we had an awesome dining experience nonetheless. We'd definitely come back. It was a little pricier than I had anticipated, but you definitely get your money's worth. I'd give a 9/10."

  • "Food was good. Service for great. However although we reserved our table or 6:15 and arrived on time, we did not get seated for another 20 minutes."
    Dined on 6/15/2014
  • "You definately need a reservation for father's day (which we had) or the wait is like an hour long. It is usually quite there but because of all the people there for the holiday it was a bit loud but definately tolerable. You could still hear each other across the table without raising your voice. Of all the restaurants we could have gone to, it was the best choice for us."
    Dined on 6/15/2014
  • "Food was fresh and good. Made reservations and had only a short wait. Impressed with the service on a major holiday. Will return soon."

  • "What a throw back to my disco days. Nothing's changed in the decor and I love that! (Except there's no more dance floor....Boo...) Took hubby here for Father's Day with a coupon for the Campfire Feast. Ssoooo good. We paid extra and ordered a lobster tail to split - it was tasty, but a little over-cooked. Squaw bread is classic. My filet mignon was juicy and delish and my hubby was able to get an end-cut of the prime rib. His favorite. The monster dessert brownie thing was over the top huge and good. All in all very happy: 4 cocktails, dinner for 2 + lobster tail and appetizer = $84!! It may not be the fanciest place but you can't beat the value for a nice meal, especially if you're on a budget. Wish there was one in West L.A.!"

  • "A little over 2:45 min for Dinner At 2:30...Hate to know how long the guest who were waiting when we left had to wait for their dinner!. Had to ask for everything, soda and water refills, toppings for potatoes all wrong and 3 of the 5 steaks were over cooked! The child's dinner came with ice cream that was never served. Waitresses disappeared for 20 to 25 minutes at a time. If that was MY first experience at Black Angus I would NEVER go back...I have had better service and might return but not sure."

  • "We go here regularly for lunch after movie across the way, and it's always a good experience. Food is tasty, server stays in touch with the table but not annoyingly so. This time it was Father's Day and we shared the Prime Rib and Lobster special for $35. Portions were not huge but it was enough for us, as we usually share a couple appetizers. We often come here on Thanksgiving as they offer an excellent meal for a great price that day."

  • "Good food, good service, cleanliness of the place."
    Dined on 6/14/2014
  • "Black Angus fits the bill for a good steakhouse, with affordable prices. Definitely not a high end experience, but if you're looking for a good family-friendly steakhouse that's easy on the wallet, and tasty food, go here. Service is usually better, but this time a little lacking. Friendly, just not around when we needed her."

  • "Loved being able to order the wedge salad. I was early for my rewservations, but we were able to go stright to a table."

  • "Nice restaurant and the service is excellent. There was no wait time, we went the Saturday before Fathers Day. The food was served hot, and their were a lot of choices. The dessert was excellent. The restaurant is close with lots of parking. The only problem was the ladies rest room, It was not clean and tidy"

  • "Food was quite good, a real value for the price. Was pleasantly surprised. We'll be back."

  • "We had a party of 7, and as soon as we sat down, they brought us bread right away... But then it was almost 10minutes before we ordered drinks (and our dinner at the same time)... Then we still had to wait almost another 5 minutes until we had our drinks on the table, and by then our bread was Gone. We sat at 7:15, and got our drinks right before 7:30. Once we got our food, our waitress didn't come back Until we were almost done eating and our drinks were empty well before that. Overall we loved the food and the restaurant, but service was slow."
    Dined on 6/9/2014
  • "Used OT to secure a reservation on a Fri night just 45 minutes before our arrival time at 7:15! Place was packed, however our wait was only about 10 minutes since we had a reservation. Our waitress was very pleasant, helpful & accommodating. Our appetizer, entrees & desserts were all very good."

  • "Delicious food. I like the high booths that make it feel more private. Great margaritas too. Quick, friendly service."
    Dined on 6/5/2014
  • "It's close and we are hopeful it will be different from the last time. Again, no luck. We will not go back."

  • "On Friday May 30,2014 I had a reservation for 6:45 pm celebrating a graduation, I wasn't seated until 7:10pm. This is to long to wait if you have a reservation. The waiter that we had was very slow we couldn't get refills for fifteen minutes. I bought this to his attention he apologized but continued to be extremely slow. This graduation dinner was partly ruined because my husband and I got into an argument about a tip he wanted to leave that I was strongly against. We eat at black angus frequently and by far this was our worse experience ever. We normally go to the one in Lakewood CA where we normally don't wait more than five or ten minutes with a reservation."

  • "we went to Black Angus for my 54th birthday. food was good, but not spectacular."
    Dined on 5/20/2014
  • "We came with a coupon for dinner for two. The appetizers were excellent. Their bread as always was fantastic. The prime rib which we had ordered med-rare was over done-more like medium. I ordered the asparagus for an extra charge. It had been grilled and was drenched in oil and the ends were tough. The loaded baked potatoes were tasty, but needed more toppings which we asked for and WAITED for. The chocolate mud pie was the best part of the meal. I have eaten here before with none of these problems. I will return as I think this was a bad night, but it will be a while!"

  • "The service and food were great. The only thing that was a bit off was the temperature inside the restaurant. It was too hot inside. I love the fact that we can reserve online. "
