  • "Without a doubt, this was the worst experience I've had at a Black Angus. My wife & I were celebrating the birthdays of our two friends. The evening got off to a poor start when the server would not allow us to use two (unrelated) coupons. Since we have done this before, we requested to speak with the manager. The server said that the manager was "too busy" to come see us. We had several problems with the service, including becoming argumentative when we complained that the steak soup had no steak in it. She also forgot one of our salads. Finally, we were overcharged by over $6. My follow-up call to the manager did resolve all issues to my satisfaction, but no one should ever have to endure the type of service we received!"

  • "We wanted a simple steak dinner and we were not disappointed. My son and husband ordered filet and ribeye rare, and they were almost happy with it, which says a lot because my husband likes his steak basically raw and toasted on the outside. They had a lengthy discussion about whether or not their steaks were rare enough. I ordered my filet medium rare, and while it had plenty of pink, I confess I might have liked mine slightly more rare, also. So - consider ordering a bit more rare than your usual. Everything else was delicious basic steak and potatoes fare. The bus boy confessed he thought the chocolate torte was too dry but I ordered it anyway and I loved it. Almost like fudge."

  • "I arrived at 7:10 and checked in for a 7:15 reservation on a slow Thursday night and sat in the waiting area. A couple and their baby who checked in after me received their table around 7:20. Maybe they had a special table? When two guys who arrived later received their table at 7:25, I jumped out of my seat and asked why I was still waiting despite my reservation. Reception girl realized she forgot to write my name on the table slip and said I'd be next. Didn't matter as another party was called before I was called. What's the point of a reservation? My wife and I ordered the campfire feast. The highlight was the prime rib which was cooked medium rare and was full of beef flavor. The Sunnyvale location knows how to cook prime rib!"

  • "This was for a friend of mines 50th bday dinner. We were about 15 min late to our reservation, but only had to wait less than 10 min to be seated. Our drinks came and the glasses were dirty with lipstick. Why would you serve bottled beer with a warm glass instead of serving with a frosty cold mug/glass? It was pretty dark inside and very warm! Other than that things were ok. Definitely not how I remembered Black Angus to be!"

  • "I have been to Black Angus over 50 times thru the years...this last couple of years(since the name change)..the food is excellent for the price..the place is nice to eat in ...at times the service has been unpredictable ranging from a 3 to a 5..the top sirloin can sometimes be a little tough..but from the baked potato (with everything)..the drinks ..the veggies..the bread ...and the Giant Prawns..a great value..great meal...my girl friend and i love the place...I highly reccomend BLACK ANGUS in Sunnyvale."

  • "Great food for the price. Paid $40 for two with a coupon for one appetizer (we had the artichoke - very good), 2 main courses. My prime rib was solid. My wife's filet was solid as well. We paid a lot more at Fleming's for similar entrees. The prime rib was better at Black Angus, the filet was better at Fleming's. Sides were solid and there were many choices. Dessert was pretty darn good too. Warning - many calories and you will be filled up!!! Service was great. Bummed out that they had Pepsi instead of Coke. Really, about the only disappointment. We would go back."

  • "My husband got a certificate for a free entree for his birthday. He thoroughly enjoyed his steak. I ordered salmon, which was fine except they have no sauce with which to serve it. They don't provide tartar sauce. I've known that before and considered bringing my own, but I forgot. It's silly to be so steak-heavy that the restaurant can't even provide a typical sauce with one of its few non-steak items. The wedge salad was good, and the potatoes au gratin were great. The restaurant comped my husband a giant cookie with ice cream and a candle, since it was his birthday. It surprised me that the waiters stood around and sang a birthday song, too. We actually could've done without that. Waiters were very attentive."

  • "Black Angus was a wonderful choice for Valentines Day, if you had a reservation, which we had. However, when our name was caled they didn't bother to check which couple claimed the reservation so someone took our table. Luckily, they realized their mistake and sat us. I was a little miffed that we were seated in the back and not at one of the cozy booths but it turned out ok. Our waiter, Shawn, did his best despite the craziness of the day and, even though the wait times were long, Shawn accomplished every task given him. Our evening was great, good food, quiet people, no fuss. But seriously, when are they going to update their bathrooms?"

Everything was sent out separately, the appetizer came out 45 mins after we were seated and then 10 mins later our sides arrived but still no main course. The waiter kept skipping our table and only checked in on us twice in the whole 2hrs we were there. He was very attentive to the tables around us but failed to be the same with us. I will never go back here again and would not recommend it to anyone. Unless you feel like waiting an hour and a half for food with poor service."

I would suggest that the server should ask/check with customer first after handing them their steak to see if it was cooked the way the customer likes it before leaving the table/customer. The customer may want the steak to be cooked a little more than they requested or the steak maybe overcooked. Please continue your camp fire feast for two, this is definitely a great deal. I do always mention Black Angus to friends. To me nothing beats your deal and your great menu."

Their food is always good and if there is something wrong with the food you order they will take care of you and provide for a new meal. The service is good but i wont say that it is better than other places. The prices are moderate for a place that has some good Steak. Other places I have ate at before would charge an arm and a leg for some good steak but Black Angus has good prices for it."

  • "We found a coupon for Black Angus and decided to try it. We were very pleased with the whole experience. Even with a coupon, we each got to choose the food we wanted - well-prepared steaks (the filet Mignon was tender and delicious) good bread, great waiter, excellent menu selection. John was torn between the NY Strip and the Top Sirloin, and eventually went with the Sirloin, but he thinks he needs to try all of the steaks to compare (he liked my Filet Mignon more than his Sirloin). Overall, we would recommend it for meat lovers who want a good meal at a reasonable price."
