  • "Our coupon was accepted on Easter Sunday! Need I say more? Many restaurants will jack up prices & not allow coupons on holidays, but not Black Angus! You have to try Happy Hour! No other restaurant can beat the value! The staff is friendly & accommodating."

  • "Enjoyed an Easter dinner at Black Angus and everything from the service to the food was very good. The waitress was watchful and the various portions of the meal all came in good time. We had the prime rib and although the portion was a bit smaller than expected, what with all of the rest of the meal (four courses), was ample and cooked exactly as I liked it. The Mud Pie dessert was a great way to finish the meal. I expect to return to the Black Angus and would certainly recommend it to friends."

  • "Our waiter I think his name was Shawn, was the best waiter I've had in memory. I wish all service people had his character."

  • "Thank you for the wonderful opportunity to enjoy your restaurant. Brought friends for Easter lunch and had a feast! Found your 4-course coupon in the local paper and everything was tasty and satisfying. Great choices available for anyone."

  • "I really liked the generous portions and the variety offered. The appetizer sampler was very good. I haven't been here for many years, but now I will be coming more often. "

  • "I've only eaten at Black Angus a few times in the last decade or so. I was really craving Prime Rib. With any restaurant, some days are hits and some days are misses. Although the service was great, and the side dishes were tasty, my Prime Rib was a bit dry/overcooked, though I could tell it probably would have tasted superb any other time. Had a nice glass of red wine though. note: this was my first time at this location"

  • "Our experience was bland. While our reservation got is a good table, and saved us a long wait-- the food took 45 minutes to come out, and both our steaks were over cooked. The manager came out without request-- and apologized for the wait, comped my steak and our dessert. It was great pro-active customer service!"

  • "Appetizers came fast but dinner was a-little slow. It was a busy Saturday night."

  • "But the service was a little slow - seemed like our server had too many tables. Don't remember service ever dragging here before."

  • "If you notice a steakhouse I would expect that you could prepare steak properly. I ordered a ribeye and look like it was panfried and it was prepared very very well done when I ordered rare."

  • "Made reservations for a Ladies Night Out - just getting together with old friends from near and far. Black Angus didn't disappoint. The service was good. Not too attentive but just right for our group. We all had filets with different sides and every member of our party thought their meal was excellent - each filet done to perfection. Enjoyed it so much that a couple of us went back again a couple of nights later!"

  • "Service great, starting with our reservation. There were 25 people waiting when we came in, our Open Table reservation was recognized and we waited less than 5 minutes for a table - and we had arrived early. Plenty of food, a good value. (Made dinner the next night as well.)"
    Dined on 4/5/2014
  • "Food was really good, but the waiter who serviced us was not too good. Every time it took him long time to show up. After the dishes were cleaned up, we have to wait long time for him to show up to take the desert order and he knew that the desert was part of our package."

  • "Relaxing. Quiet. The service was attentive and helpful. We like the four course dinner for two coupled with a bottle of wine. The Big Mountain Fudge Cake is superb."

  • "Without a doubt, this was the worst experience I've had at a Black Angus. My wife & I were celebrating the birthdays of our two friends. The evening got off to a poor start when the server would not allow us to use two (unrelated) coupons. Since we have done this before, we requested to speak with the manager. The server said that the manager was "too busy" to come see us. We had several problems with the service, including becoming argumentative when we complained that the steak soup had no steak in it. She also forgot one of our salads. Finally, we were overcharged by over $6. My follow-up call to the manager did resolve all issues to my satisfaction, but no one should ever have to endure the type of service we received!"

  • "Arrived for early dinner on Saturday with family, group of 5. Server, Oscar, was very good. Appetizers and bread cam quickly after ordering. Entrees took a while....like 20 min more. Not sure for the delay. Food - steak and primerib was ok. Asked for medium-rare on ribeye and got medium."

  • "We wanted a simple steak dinner and we were not disappointed. My son and husband ordered filet and ribeye rare, and they were almost happy with it, which says a lot because my husband likes his steak basically raw and toasted on the outside. They had a lengthy discussion about whether or not their steaks were rare enough. I ordered my filet medium rare, and while it had plenty of pink, I confess I might have liked mine slightly more rare, also. So - consider ordering a bit more rare than your usual. Everything else was delicious basic steak and potatoes fare. The bus boy confessed he thought the chocolate torte was too dry but I ordered it anyway and I loved it. Almost like fudge."

  • "The steak I ordered was fine but nothing to write home about. I am not sure I would go there again as it was not a standout"

  • "I reserved a table for my birthday and in the comments section of open table, I noted that it was my birthday. Iarrived on time anf was seated promptly. The food was good and came fast. At the end of the meal, the waitwr surprised me with a birthday cookie with ice cream and a candle. This is my second experience with open table at this restaurant and I plan to do this again."

  • "I arrived at 7:10 and checked in for a 7:15 reservation on a slow Thursday night and sat in the waiting area. A couple and their baby who checked in after me received their table around 7:20. Maybe they had a special table? When two guys who arrived later received their table at 7:25, I jumped out of my seat and asked why I was still waiting despite my reservation. Reception girl realized she forgot to write my name on the table slip and said I'd be next. Didn't matter as another party was called before I was called. What's the point of a reservation? My wife and I ordered the campfire feast. The highlight was the prime rib which was cooked medium rare and was full of beef flavor. The Sunnyvale location knows how to cook prime rib!"

  • "This was for a friend of mines 50th bday dinner. We were about 15 min late to our reservation, but only had to wait less than 10 min to be seated. Our drinks came and the glasses were dirty with lipstick. Why would you serve bottled beer with a warm glass instead of serving with a frosty cold mug/glass? It was pretty dark inside and very warm! Other than that things were ok. Definitely not how I remembered Black Angus to be!"

  • "I have been to Black Angus over 50 times thru the years...this last couple of years(since the name change)..the food is excellent for the price..the place is nice to eat in ...at times the service has been unpredictable ranging from a 3 to a 5..the top sirloin can sometimes be a little tough..but from the baked potato (with everything)..the drinks ..the veggies..the bread ...and the Giant Prawns..a great value..great meal...my girl friend and i love the place...I highly reccomend BLACK ANGUS in Sunnyvale."

  • "Great food for the price. Paid $40 for two with a coupon for one appetizer (we had the artichoke - very good), 2 main courses. My prime rib was solid. My wife's filet was solid as well. We paid a lot more at Fleming's for similar entrees. The prime rib was better at Black Angus, the filet was better at Fleming's. Sides were solid and there were many choices. Dessert was pretty darn good too. Warning - many calories and you will be filled up!!! Service was great. Bummed out that they had Pepsi instead of Coke. Really, about the only disappointment. We would go back."

  • "The steak we preferred cooked was medium rare and it seems like it was medium well and the meat was tough. And the lobster was dry meaning over cooked. WE toughened it out and tries to be gracious since our server were nice."

  • "My husband got a certificate for a free entree for his birthday. He thoroughly enjoyed his steak. I ordered salmon, which was fine except they have no sauce with which to serve it. They don't provide tartar sauce. I've known that before and considered bringing my own, but I forgot. It's silly to be so steak-heavy that the restaurant can't even provide a typical sauce with one of its few non-steak items. The wedge salad was good, and the potatoes au gratin were great. The restaurant comped my husband a giant cookie with ice cream and a candle, since it was his birthday. It surprised me that the waiters stood around and sang a birthday song, too. We actually could've done without that. Waiters were very attentive."

  • "My daughter and I really enjoyed our dinner and the service was excellent. Food was well prepared and delicious and was served promptly. I think the only thing that could have been better was the temperature of the food...it could have been hotter and did cool off quickly. Other than that, everything was perfect!"

  • "Evrything was great. Our server was very attentive. The steaks were cooked perfectly. My grilled prawns were delicious, but I needed one more to make it perfect. My companions had dessert and they looked fabulous. All in all it was a superb evening meal. Thank you, Donna"

  • "Steak was excellent, the best I've had so far at Black Angus. I ordered sirloin steak well done. I think it came out as medium done instead but it was just the right level of juiciness. Yum! The sides were good, not too salty like other times. The service was a little slow and our server was hardly there. We will definitely be back for for my mum's bday."

  • "I appreciate the fact that you can actually have a pleasant conversation without straining to hear, even though it is a very large restaurant. The fact that each table is a booth and the walls go up quite high contributes to this effect. Thank you. The food was good and plentiful for big young male eaters. Thank you."

  • "As a general rule..the service is verygood..but last time it was pretty bad..it was very slow..didn't get the bread until the 3rd request...a long wait for a marteni..and main course...waiter seemed confused ..too many tables."
