Although the restaurant always have so many customers, once you sit on the table, you won't feel the crowded entrance anymore; it gives feeling of privacy on each table.
The menu has the right portion. I am a long time resident of Santa Clara and happy that we have a very nice steak house (Texas decor) to go to as well as take friends to enjoy.
This particular evening however my prime rib was undercooked. I would have had it exchanged however I decided to work with it. I had ordered my prime rib medium rare( I didn't want medium well or done) however what I got was rare. This did not help my indigestion and other health problems. We had been to Black Angus before and had such good food the last time, we decided to try it again. We all had the special "filet with béarnaise" and all of our filet's were cooked exactly to order and just delish! We had great service, really good food and what more could you ask for! The steak is my favorite in the bay area when I have to pay for it myself (if a vendor is paying, Sundance or such is a bit better). The sides are great even though I have pretty much chosen the wedge salad and the loaded baked potato 200 times in a row.
I have noticed that the service varies... some waiters are better than others... a couple are less attentive than others. I used to have my own waiter, who I'd ask for specifically and wait half an hour to be served by if the need arose... and in two years of Robert serving us I had absolutely no complaints. Not so lucky lately.

Comparing this Black Angus in Sunnyvale to the one in Milpitas, all three of us decided it was worth the extra drive. Two of our party live in the Milpitas area but since I was coming from work in Redwood City, they thought it would be easier to meet in Sunnyvale and my friend mentioned that she liked the Sunnyvale ambiance better. Upon arriving arriving, the lobby was full with people waiting to be seated who obviously didn't have reservations. We walked in and were immediately seated in a lovely, rather secluded spot. Apparently, however, they were short on servers as the tables directly across from us were empty the entire time.
We never did get our "home-made" bread. The server said he didn't know why except that the kitchen was behind - we never did get it.
