  • "Out reservation was for 645, we were not seated until 7. Waitress was not knowledgeable about menu and just said "yes" to everything. Called the main courses "Enters". Drinks did not arrive for 1/2 an hour. It looks to me that a more mature manager should be covering the front of house more thoroughly. All the servers were teens or very early 20's. They didn't know much if anything about serving. Sorry, will not be back unless i have a major urge for Rare Prime Beef......the meat was the only excellent part of the meal."

  • "This restaurant is almost always great, but today I had to say it was only good. Ordered the prime rib and got one with absolutely no fat marbled into the meat. Medium rare and the steak was tasty but very tough. About 1/4 of the steak was fat, but I was able to cut it off all on one piece zinc it was the outside of the steak. It really took away the flavor and tenderness. They probably should not have served that prime rib - it shouldn't have ever been graded as prime in the first place. Otherwise the service was good."

  • "We reserved our seat on line, and was seated shortly when we arrived. The restaurant was very crowded, so the service was reflective of the business of the restaurant meaning the server was overworked and we weren't attended to properly. We had to continuously wait for him to get basic extras, e.g. ranch, ketchup. etc. We have dined here in the past, but the food this time wasn't great. My side dish of sweet potatoe fries were cold and the salmon was bland, no seasoning what so ever. The ranch dressing was fairly watered down. I would say of all the times I've been to this location this was by far the worse dining experience. I ended up taking my food to go after I ate the appetizer."

Our appetizers came out freshly cooked and hot. The ribeye's were cooked to our satisfaction. We will definitely be back & recommend them to our friends. It is nice to go to a Resturant that is making an effort to please the customer! Joellen"

  • "We come to the San Lorenzo Black Angus a lot. While the service was hit and miss, food was always wonderful. We came on Valentine's Day again and was very disappointed with the food. The prime rib was half the thickness of what we normally get and 1/2 of the cut was total fat. Good thing that I was already half full with the appetizer. I do have to compliment on the manager Cathy. She was friendly and apologetic, which made the experience less upsetting."

  • "My wife loves this place, so we keep coming back. This year we noticed there was no longer a crowd in the lobby to fight through (despite our yearly reservations). That was a pleasant surprise! Our server seemed a little distracted, although there were empty tables around us; so they shouldn't have been "too busy". We were in no hurry, and already in good spirits so we were patient. Higher-maintenance folks might have made a stink. (Had to ask for bread a second time) Still, overall a favorite."

It is still slow and understaffed. The staff themselves were very nice people and provided good service when they could. It too 1 hour to get or main dinner for just two people. I was thankful we had bread to tie us over. We came in on a Wednesday night. We now drive an extra 15mins to go to another black angus two towns away."

  • "I haven't been to a Black Angus in a while and thought that it would be nice to refresh my memory. The restaurant is right off the freeway and parking is a breeze. As for the restaurant itself, the coffee and steak soup were served warm (at best). The food was served relatively quickly but we ended up having to track down our waitress to remind her that we needed silverware and refills. All in all it was not a horrible experience, just not the best."

The coffee refill was lukewarm and since it was served before leaving we didn't bother to let her know. We are not high maintenance but would like to feel the server appreciates us dining there. She earned 12% tip instead of the usual I usually leave. The Opentable reservation worked great! We didn't have to wait."

  • "The food was very good as always, whenever we dine at Black Angus. Our waitress was very warm and attentive. We were celebrating our 37th year Anniversary., so the privacy was definitely a plus. Really appreciated Open Table, we were seated within minutes of our arrival. Very quiet in terms of restaurant dining, so we did not have a problem with the noise level, we appreciate and love the fact the back of the booths are high. Our dining experience was wonderful. Prime Rib and Salmon were cooked perfectly, vegetables crisp and tender. Yes we will tell our friends."

  • "Everything was great for a while. We had no problem with the online reservation. Our order was taken quickly. Our appetizers arrived quickly. Our food arrived quickly. Then our waiter disappeared. We needed mayo for a burger that got cold before the mayo arrived and other people wanted soft drink refills. One of our party had to search twice to find someone to help us. Our waiter later apologized saying he had been assigned a group of 15 in addition to our party of 9. The food is always great and with a coupon the price is right. The service is always bad. They are always understaffed. I have had this problem at several Black Angus restaurants."

  • "Made reservations for 10....8 adults & 2 kids. When we arrived they attempted to seat us in the sports bar (where the 49er football game was showing). I told them I did not want to sit in the sports area and they quickly looked for another spot. The next spot was very cramped for 10 people and I said I was not happy with that spot either. Again they showed me a larger area with plenty of space and little noise. Service was GREAT. Food was very good. Used a coupon and each couple got huge appetizer of their choice, main dish and HUGE dessert! Great price, delicious food and fun family evening! Will go back....and use OPEN TABLE to make our reservations! Thanks!"

  • "Black Angus used to be a really nice restaurant - then they changed things up a bit. First thnig that they did was to cange he menu so that you no longer got soup or salad, PLUS 2 side orders - you now only get 2 side orders, which can be soup or salad. So, if you order soup and a potato, that's what you get - not even a piece of parsley on the plate which looks really barren. Salads came before the appetizer plate (which has also declined over the years - now the sampler is 3 small shrimp; 2 potato skins; 3 boneless chicken strips and about 8 pieces of zucchini. It's a $14 platter (that comes with the dinner deal) - and it too is just sort of "thrown together" as if nobody int the kitchen really cares how it looks."

  • "My father loves Black Angus. We are there as a family 4-6 times per year. This past New Years Eve was the first time I didn't leave a tip. Our server was Nikole H. It was obvious she wanted to be anyplace but work on that night. She did not greet us with welcome to Black Angus.....not even Happy New Year. She took our drink, appetizer and meal order at one time. We thought that was great but then we didn't see her again until our meal came. After that she came over to our table because a member of our party flagged her down. She brought the check, we paid our bill and there was still no thank you for coming, have a good evening, or happy new year. We understand a holiday means you wait longer but it doesn't mean you receive no service."

We made a reservation on short notice and where seated shortly after arrival. The food was prepared to our specifications in short order and we enjoyed the flavorful meal. We could hear the other diners and it sounded like they also were having an enjoyable time: some families with young kids, some celebrating birthdays, and some celebrating holiday parties. The wait staff were attentive and checked with us on several occasions to ascertain the progress of our meal. It was a great time!"

  • "I went there on a date night with my husband. We got there roughly 2 mins before our reservation time. The place was packed (Friday night). We waited about 5-7 minutes before being seated. The food met my expectation and the service was acceptable considering the busy evening. My only complaint would be that when we would ask our waitress to bring us bag something (such as A1 steak sauce) it took longer than expected to get it. Overall I would tell a friend about this Black Angus and I would go back."
