Our server was okay...not highly engaging but polite and professional. My salad had the wrong dressing, my lobster was undercooked and they forgot the brocoli on my husbands plate. Usually we don't have any complaints. It just seemed like they had an off night for them.

Had reservations through open-table for two couples. One couple arrived early and was seated. Second couple arrived on time a was seated in totally different area. Both checked in with correct reservation name. Finally spotted each other and got reseated together about half hour late. One steak overdone ( medium well instead of med rare), one steak too rare. Other two steaks perfect.

We had the special $17.99 steak, lobster and shrimp. It was great except the lobster was just so-so. But I would go again and hope I got a better lobster as everything else had been great. Love that the place is quiet even though there were lots of diners.

I really enjoy the Black Angus chain, and this was my 2nd time at this location in San Diego while on a mini-vacation there. Food is always consistently good, nice ambience, and great big and comfortable booths. Service tonight was adequate - but not quite as attentive as usual. None the less, my partner and I enjoyed the dining experience, and I definitely would come back. Also plenty of easy parking at this location.

WE had a nice time with friends and a good meal of salmon and 2 sides on the lunch special. We sat in the lounge area rather than the restaurant because it has a more open feeling. Our visit was made into a grand experience by our server Jenny who has a superb personality, sense of humor and attitude. She made us feel like valued customers. We will definitely return.

Bread took 25 minutes to appear, long after I finished my salad. I ordered the steak medium and it came out almost raw. 5-10 minutes to find waitress to fix the problem. It then came back overcooked and tough. 15 minutes trying to find someone to refill iced tea. Manager had no idea how to deal with horrible experience. Company has not responded to complaint.

I've always enjoyed dining at Black Angus, however this time I only gave it a 3-star rating because of the wait and the quality of the Sampler. We decided to do the Campfire dinner for two special as we didn't do it for a while. However, the Sampler was not as good as I remembered mainly too much batter for the fried zucchini and buffalo chicken. I hardly tasted the chicken and zucchini. They were busy, so it took a long time for the food to be served, nobody's fault. The plus side is steaks were still delicious.

Were there in May with a large group to celebrate graduation. Waited a long time for the food to be delivered which was forgivable based on how busy it was but once it came several steaks were over cooked. We had to have them replaced. Decided to try them this past Friday and the same thing. Overdone steaks. When we checked the bill, they charged us for the replacement steak. When we pointed it out to the server she said it would be removed. 10 minutes later she comes back w/ the same exact bill. Had to have her fix it twice. Terrible experience.

The server was wonderful. I gave him a huge tip! He was on top of everything. The location where my date and I were seated was next to the kitchen. We didn't feel we could discuss things. We felt that the other servers were listening on our conversations because when we started to discuss things, they would literally look over at us or walk close to our table. We both noticed this. The salmon, steak and dessert was great but the appetizers and the sides were not impressive. They looked and tasted like they came out of the freezer or just warmed up. Overall, the only thing that stood out was the salmon, steak, dessert and our server.

What is really great about this restaurant is its ambiance. It has a cool western theme, and the dining area is set apart from the bar and entrance. This allows for a quiet dining experience. You can enjoy your meal here without hearing what anyone else is saying, or they over-hearing your discussions. Whatever you order, the food will fill you up. We had the Campfire Dinner, which is a wide choice of entrees, two sides, an appetizer, and dessert to share. I had the New York steak, which was very good. One of their best side dishes is the garlic mashed potatoes. And, the dessert is decadent. We had the chocolate fudge mud cake. It is enough for 4 people. Go here hungry, and you will come out stuffed and satisfied.

Four of us dined here on Thurs Aug. 4. We had a particularly fine dinner and were able to use a 30% coupon to boot. Our server, Tamara (I think), was just outstanding. We all had grilled salmon for $21.00 w/ coupon, two delicious side dishes, a whole chunk of bread. We've been going to this location (yes, 40 years) - we were there the night they opened and have never had a poor meal. We were too full for dessert, but the pound cake with strawberries looked delicious. Our total cost w/ tip was $39 per person.

We got there at 6:15pm and left at 8ish. Who knew it would take that long to get our food. I am not sure what their system is but once we finally got our salads which was like an 30-1hr later we asked about how long it will take to get our food bc we had a toddler with us and we were alll starving. The bread wasn't doing it, the waitress said I just put in your order so it will be about 12-15 minutes. I was like "What?" that long? We have been here for over an hour!?! There wasn't that many patrons there on a Monday night neither...I don't think we will be coming back unless we tell the server in advance to put in our order please! Slow slow slow service

Black Angus advertises with coupons, we had the two for one $41 dinner- upgraded a little and with drinks and tip the total bill was $80, which is quite reasonable for a nice dinner. The restaurant has no views or ambience, more like your neighborhood Dennys with better food. But it was nice enough and the service was great. Recommended to all, enjoy.

Had a nice dinner with my teenage son for a special occasion. The service was outstanding; Mikey is my new favorite waiter! We elected to use a coupon this time, and being regular Black Angus diners (usually without coupon) we did notice a big difference in the quality of the food. Our usual order was not nearly as good with the coupon; steak was smaller and considerably tougher, etc. In future, if we return it will be mainly for the service given by Mikey and we will definitely not use the coupon! This was our first time at this location, as we usually go to the one in Chula Vista, but will return if we can request Mikey as our waiter.

After patronizing the restaurant for almost 40 years, we are becoming tired of the same menu. Would like to see a little more variety in the menu. Also, I've noted that the restroom is not as sanitary as it used to be. The walls need a better washing down and the toilets need to be checked more often. Also, the front desk people are not as congenial as they once were. Management needs to make a more thorough assessment of customer satisfaction.

It's quiet and comfortable and the servers always make you feel that you are VIPs. There's something on the menu for everyone's tastes. The prime rib is to die for! The desserts are delectable...especially the gluten free cake. People with Celiac can feel comfortable knowing they can eat safely here. Keep it coming, Black Angus and I'll be back...again and again and again!.

We used to go here alot. But, haven't been in awhile. Food: OK Service: OK Prices: Higher then warrented. I had to ask for our bread ( which their ads say is included, but hadn't come by the time our entress were served.) Never refilled our drinks... I guess since we ordered iced tea instead of alcohol. Went because I am on their Email list , so we got a 30% off deal.. entire bill. That's what it says. Off course, not alcohol, tip.. I get that. BUT, they took 30% off the meals, not ENTIRE meal... remember, we ordered non-alcoholic drinks. ICED TEA. Will not go again, and have unsubscribed from their Email.
