  • "Ribeye was very good, for the price. Fun place for a Saturday night date with the husband. Good value, good meal. Easy to get a table, and fantastic and friendly wait staff. The baked potato was perfection."

  • "Had a lovely evening with a friend I hadn't seen in awhile. Our server, Will, was just perfect and gave us plenty of time to visit, to laugh and to share a birthday dessert. We've already made plans to meet there again."

  • "Food was not bad for the price. Sweet potato fries were very good. Quiet. Kind of dark. Lots of people seemed to be enjoying. Not my kind of place."

  • "Family enjoyed a couple of hours at the Black Angus drinking, laughing, eating and celebrating daughter's 47th birthday!! We all liked our meal and had a good time. Had the camera but forgot to ask our server to snap a shot. :("

  • "The food was good as I expected. My husband really enjoyed his steak dinner and the cookie dessert afterwards. This is one of our "go to" restaurants when we eat out. Always a good dinning out experience."

  • "I Made reservations because I know this place gets busy. However when we arrived and told them we had reservations we had to wait until everyone that was there before us was seated. The couple who arrived in front of us told the girl they did not have reservations and were seated before us. So this place is first come first served. Will need to find another place for dinner."

  • "The steaks were very good. The martini did not seem to have been watered down, and the wine list was acceptable. This is a good utilitarian restaurant with reasonable prices. If you want much, much more, go to Ruth's Chris...and bring money."

  • "A nice relaxing spot to have a traditional American dinner--service is good and not rushed; prices are average. It is a real advantage to be able to make a reservation for a party of two for a weekend night!"

  • "My husband and I have never had a bad meal. The portions are more than ample. Love the bread loaves and the staff is always smiling."

  • "Black Angus in Pleasant Hill is a long-time favorite for excellent steaks and prime rib at a reasonable price. Unlike other chain steak houses, this venerable establishment hasn't deteriorated over the years. Management pays attention to food quality and the service provided by the staff. Even if some in your party don't eat beef, the salmon is always a reliable alternative. The 8-ounce filet mignon (medium rare, please) is often better than the ones served at high-end steak houses at twice the Black Angus price. I put it in the "reliable standby" category for a place to go when you want a hearty meal that won't break the bank. Cocktails are reasonable; wine list is basic and uninteresting, but corkage is modest, so wine lovers should BYOB."

  • "Dinner was very good, the sides were very good, the service was very good and the drinks were very good....it was a special Fathers Day treat with my Wife. We have eaten at Black Angus for years, both Southern & Northern California, and never been unhappy with the meal and service."

  • "Our server Friday night was terrific. Twice she recommended something and said if we didn't like it she would replace it with another item. We did like the item. Yet she brought out the other item anyway and said that we should just have it so that from then on we would know if we liked it enough to order again. This is so much different than the normal guilt we feel when a server brings a a wrong or poorly prepared item and we have to ask for a replacement. She was proactively making us future customers. She makes us want to come again!"

  • "Our party of four enjoyed another tasty and delicious meal at Black Angus. We enjoyed the NY steaks and all the trimmings off the Campfire Feast. Table service was good and efficient. Had a problem with my reservation but that was resolved."

  • "Our party of four arrived before our reservation time, and we were seated right away. The salads were large, gorgeous and tasted divine. The artichoke appetizer was wonderful as were the entrees'. By this point we were stuffed and took most of our entrees' and the desert home with us. We had a marvelous time and the server was superb."

  • "This place is okay. Campfire Meal for 2 is a good deal. A lot of food. Very "chain-like" menu. High in salt/ butter / grease. Not my favorite. But decent. If you want meat, come here. "

  • "Food:some sort of redcolor on top of primerib so it looks medium rare. Bill didn't reflect the 30%off(promo). We were upset when our beer wasn't discounted when the waitress verified it would. Manager came over, told us the coupon didn't deduct drinks.....meaning to tell us we were wrong. We explained to him what the waitress had told us and he still kept being defensive even though he knew his waitress was wrong. I know some restaurant proprietor wouldn't argue with their customer and adjust accordingly....but he kept going at it. Eventually after some back and forth he said he would adjust it. This is not about a few dollars. It is about what you tell your customer and then come back and say it wasn't after we finished our meal."

  • "This is our place to go for good food, great service and celebrating a special occasion. Better food here than a recent meal at a so called high end place in Lake Tahoe. I love the filet mugnon with bleu cheese and mushrooms. I like I can pick the sides, asperagus is delicious, big, and several of them. Most restaurants give you 2 or 3 of the tiny ones... "

  • "One of my favorite things about Black Angus is that it doesn't try to be something it's not - and that's a good thing. If you want meat, potatoes and all the fixins', then this is your place. Prices are good (even better if you snag a coupon from the paper or online). They are also consistent - I've always had a good meal at Black Angus. Good for groups, kid-friendly and good for date night."

  • "Good Food, and plenty of it. We started with the 50th anniversary Moscow Mules, in the copper cup. Appetizers, loaded potatoes, Entrees were all on the special coupon, I had the filet mignon (6oz), roasted asparagus (delicious). Wine list pretty good and moderately priced. This was an anniversary dinner celebrating friends. Ashley(sp) was an outstanding waitress who took very good care of us...."

  • "It's generally good, but tonight, it was over done. We ask for rare, but got medium well. We tried to exchange it, but they said that was the most rare piece available. "

  • "Seemed like the whole town was here celebrating Mother's Day. Making reservation on opentable a few days earlier, we had to wait about 10mins and all they could give us was an approx 24" x 30" table for two at the bar area. That was not a good start. Followed by asking the waitress for clean bread plate and knife. The 'wedge' salad I usually have wasn't up to par. I would have loved the fork, plate and the salad to be icy cold...that's the way to have it. I would say the prime rib was good although 1/4 of the piece I had, was mostly fat. The lobster with the meal wasn't disappointing...it saved the whole dinner experience. I would go again but not on major days like 'mother's day'."

  • "first i would like to start by saying that i do like your place, but on this particular visit ( Mother's Day ) i was not impressed at all. Service was poor ( very Poor ) they sat us at the Bar. I have reservation for six people 3 KIDS and they sat us in the bar. It s so noisy. the food took a while to get to us and when it did the steak was already cold ( my wife and kids complain the same as well food is cold ) I think my bill came up to $170.00 dollars i expect more for that amount. the only thing that was fast enouhg was the Beer. Anyways that was the first time i've experience that kind of servive at any Black Angus Restaurant. Maybe my daughter was right to suggest that we should have gone to Cattlemen's . just poor service"

  • "We come to Black Angus in Pleasnt Hill on a continuous basis. The food is good to exceptional. This past Mother's day was exceptional. Our Waiter, Will was absolutely great, and made the dining experience for my Mother, Wife, and god-daughter, and grand niece a great experience. Thank You!"

  • "The steak, salmon and shrimp cocktail were very tasty, and the baked potato soup was awesome, as usual! We tried the bread pudding dessert, and it was delicious!"

  • "Black Angus is close to my home. They send out coupons. I invited some friends for dinner and we all had a great time. Service was extremely friendly. Lots of servers on hand that seemed to help each other. The ribeye was perfect and so were the garlic mashed potatoes! Wine list was not extensive, but "good" and the prices were "right." The tables are roomy and set apart so you don't hear anyone around you. I'll be back."

  • "another wonderful dinner, as usual! Although we were disappointed that Andrea is no longer the manager there. She was very personable and attentive. when she noted we were coming, she made sure that we were in our waitresses section. she knew us and made it very pleasant. she also knew that if our preferred waitress was, who would be a suitable person to fill that would be most like Randi. We'll miss her."
