  • "Sat us in the bar (group of 6) near the service area where all we heard was "COMING OUT" and the slamming of dishes all during dinner. We had 2 small children with us and the waitress couldn't have been less helpful. She was so abrasive - even asking for extra orange slices for the kids was problematic for her. She rushed us through dinner, didn't bring the warm bread until we asked - then looked annoyed, brought salads with dressing when we specifically asked for on the side. Brought baked potatoes with butter when we asked for dry. I spilled my au jus on the table and was afraid to even ask her for a replacement. If she could have growled - she would have. We like the restaurant and the food is a great price for the value."

The only thing was the wait to be seated and for the steaks as well! They were really bizzy!!! Which is a good thing for the restaurant. Over all a very good time!"

  • "The hostess was nice. We sat down in the bar area and waited 10 before I had to ask for menus. We ordered our food and I asked for a lemonade, but at this location it wasn't fresh and that was disappointing. The gal who took our order was not the gal who ignored us; where I had to ask for service. The gal that took our order was nice, suggested an Arnold Palmer instead to offset the sweetness of the fountain lemonade; I agreed and asked to make sure I got more tea than lemonade. She did just that. Onion rings were good, the BBQ was hot but great. Prime rib was good after I added the creamy horseradish, but before it had a slight gamy taste. The salmon and baked potatoes was good. Overall, we'd come back."

  • "My wife and I visited the Montclair Black Angus to celebrate my wife's birthday. We made a reservation online for 7:45pm. We arrived and when we went to check in we were told that despite our reservation we would still have to wait about 20 minutes due to the high volume of reservations and the weather. This was annoying, but the situation was quickly resolved and we were given a table within 5 minutes. From that point on the server was excellent as she made us feel comfortable and welcome. The food was great. We highly recommend Montclair Black Angus."

  • "My wife and I went to Black Angus on New Year's Eve. We have eaten there many times before. Given that it was a busy holiday, I made a reservation for us the week before. We showed up at 6:55 for our 7:00 reservation and were told that they were very busy and we would have to wait. After waiting more than a half hour, I asked the on-duty manager, Eric, what was going on and he said that they had a bunch of walk-ins come in shortly before our reservation. He noted that we did have a reservation, but said that it was a busy night and we should expect a wait. Yes, this is EXACTLY why I made a reservation. He said there was nothing he could do and that we would have to wait. We weren't seated until 7:45 and we won't be returning to Black Angus."

  • "It's not fair to judge this restaurant on Thanksgiving Day. The activity is no way comparable to any other. Yet my personal experience on that particular night was below my expectations. The service was slow. The room temperature was actually hot. We asked our server and he claimed that other customers wanted the heat up because it was cool outside. Later on, he came back and claimed having talked to the manager about it and it was agreed to turn the AC on because apparently the body heat generated by a great number of people had warmed up the place. They ran out of the dessert that was included with the meal. The steak seemed smaller than those I have eaten at Black Angus before. The chocolate cake a la mode was excellent."

Everything was great. We did have to wait awhile to be seated even though we had a reservation. A busy night and a Holiday (Thanksgiving). The waiter was professional, friendly, and checked on us regularly. He made us feel right at home and answered all my wife's questions regarding the menu. Thanks for a lovely evening."

  • "Order a split of Champagne, bartender wanted to know if we wanted to open it or should she? I got the impression that she was not knowledgeable on how to open it. Seated for dinner, the waiter took our drink orders, a split of champagne and a bottle of Cabernet. He brought 3 wine glasses to our table and opened the Cab first. Then he poured a glass for me and my Daughter, no sample taste to determine if the bottle was ok. The he poured my Wife's champagne in the other wine glass.. The Prime Rib was no bigger that a Ham Steak (about a 1/4 " thick (there were 2 different orders and both were very thin). It felt like the staff needed educating on proper service. I will never go back to Black Angus, the Prime Rib was unacceptable."

Nickellodeon or food channel,news,etc."
