  • "They have a good menu, but the food is hit or miss. Good selection of items to choose from. We had steak and salmon combos. The salads were not as good as they usually are at this location. Didn't seem as fresh. The salmon was good, the steak was ok, not great. My broccoli was cool, but my wife's potatoes were really good. Our service was friendly, but forgot to bring (forgot to order) my appetizer. We added a kids meal and all was good with that. This place has the potential to be really good. Ive had some great dinner here. This one wasn't bad, but weighing it against the bill, I go the short end of the stick this time. There's a limit to how many times i let that happen. I know its 'steakhouse' theme, but the decor is a little tired."

Despite the busyness of the evening, wait staff was very friendly and wanted to serve their customers. One steak was not cooked right and it was taken away and cooked to perfection."

  • "I've been going to Black Angus for years but I think this visit may have been one of, if not the best ones. The food was cooked to perfection and served in a timely manner. I ordered the Filet Mignon with Bernaise sauce and I like it a bit pink so I ordered it Medium...Perfectly juicy! Our server was so respectful and polite and made us feel like he was actually there to "serve" us...He was delightful. Great for a special occasion or just a nice evening out. Nice perk is they put coupons online all the time too."

  • "Had the filet mignon sandwich served with a side of French fries and cole slaw. The filet mignon was thinly sliced and topped with sautéed onions, red bell peppers, Cheddar cheese and chipotle mayonnaise on a toasted roll. A small loaf of soft molasses-infused dark bread with soft butter preceded the meal. The bread arrived warm and was very tasty. The filet mignon could have been better prepared, and with the fries, did not arrive hot. Our server Ashley did a very good job, especially considering how busy it was."

  • "I have dined here four times in six months for several special occassions and they haven't disappointed me or anyone of us. Their deep-fried zucchini is fantastic, their steaks/filet mignons are juicy, flavorful and tender, the salmon has a nice oily juicyness and tender, the molasses bread with their sweetened butter is the best. The Caesar salads are awesome. The flour less cake is like eating a chocolate truffle, yummy. The fudge cake is huge and moist. Their drinks are always made well and hit the spot. Try them if you haven't yet. Quality food at good prices. It's worth it!"

  • "Being a larger party (of eight, one of which was a child), we expected there to be hiccups in the service and meals coming out in batches. What we experienced was so much worse than we had anticipated... We received three entrees the first go-round. Waited 5 minutes, and then received four more. Still missing one. When it came a minute or two later, the salmon was completely burned to a crisp on one side - not easy to miss by any stretch, as it was the entire "right side", not just the bottom or top of the filet!! It was promptly returned, and we waited almost 10 minutes for the refired meal to be delivered to the table. By this time, everyone else had finished their meals! And no offer to graciously remove it from the bill."

  • "I reserved a table for 6 people through Open Table and mentioned we were celebrating two birthdays. Our waitress, Leah was wonderful and she knew about the special occasion without me having to remind them. The food was outstanding, quality and not expensive. My king salmon was so juicy and flavorful and everyone loved their steaks. The fried zucchini is a must and their drinks are well made. Their Caesar salads are fresh and tasty. I have been here twice in the past 4 months and will definitely be back again."

She did a great job. I am a former restaurant owner, I notice just about everything....the food was outstanding! Both my friend and I ordered the end cut on the Prime our wives, the 8 oz...was a great time...thank you!"

  • "This is our second time here. The first time was exceptional. This time, slightly less. Food was good, portions were reasonable.We had one of the privacy booths which was nice. The service was friendly, but not forced. Was pretty quick also. You can see this is a well practiced establishment. Overall, the food was good, reasonably priced, with better than average service."

It is a steakhouse, so menu is limited, but better to do some things right than to do many things halfway. If you are going to eat here I would suggest going for an early dinner as it gets real busy later."

  • "Reservation was for 7:30 on Friday night on valentines day, table for 10, got our table at 8:30. The waitress was on her second day of work. She was pleasant and smiled often. Food that was ordered eventually ran out and we had to order different food. Service was non existent, and our appetizers, beers, and food took forever. When we finally asked for our bill, it took 45 minutes to figure out the bill. Our server dissappeared after we asked for the bill, and we eventually had to go into the kitchen to find a manager. We left at 11:30. Worst ever."

  • "We were seated in an area that was not in the main dining area W were surrounded by televisions airing sports events. Were we at a "sports bar"? How romantic.. Made mention in the remarks of our reservation that it was our 33rd anniversary. There was no mention of this during our visit to the Black Angus. The main entrée included a salad and a potato. If you wanted a vegetable you would have to give up the salad or potato. We will not be repeat visitors to the Federal Way Black Angus."

  • "First of all they over booked and even if you had a reservation (which we did) they had a 30 minute wait! Then we were seated and the whole place was basically a sports bar. TV screens everywhere, the noise level was high. We had prime rib and my boyfriend's portion was half fat! The food was bland and flavorless. And warm because our server was so busy, our food just sat for a long while. The only thing that was gpod was the desert. We will never go there again and never recommend it to anyone. It was a waste!"

  • "I have been at Black Angus many times and never been disappointed. This was the first time however that I used OpenTable. I was a little nervous about the experience this time because it was Valentines Day and I knew It would be busy. I was very pleased when I entered the restaurant that they did in fact have my reservation and that we did not have to wait for our table. In spite of the fact that they were extremely busy our service was great and they staff did not appear to be rushed or harried. The food was presented as ordered and was very good. I would definitely use OpenTable again and I would also return to Black Angus."

  • "We arrived modestly ahead of our reservation and found the lobby jammed with people. It was Valentine's Day and everybody had the same idea about taking their sweetie out to dinner. We were seated about 20 minutes after our reservation time but thereafter all went smoothly ... excellent service by a very harried waitress. The food at Black Angus is always decent. We really enjoyed the flame-grilled artichokes, the steaks were done just right and the bread pudding desert was decedent. There was entertainment too: Watching the people without reservation ON VALENTINE'S DAY arguing or huffing at the greeter because they couldn't get in for three and a half hours. Love silly people!"

  • "My wife and I went here for Valentine's Day. We love eating at Black Angus. The food is excellent and staff is as well. Great steak dinner without the outrages bill at the end. However, it was Valentine's, so think goodness I made reservations with open table a while back. Although they were running behind 45mins with reservations and turning walk-ins away, the food and service was still great."

  • "Very disappointed with Black Angus. We had 8:15PM reservations on Valentine's Day. We get there and we are told that they are running behind and it is going to be another 60-90 minute wait. What is the point of having a reservation if we have to wait another 90 minutes? We ended up going to The Ram across the street and got a table immediately."

  • "My husband and I went for an annivesary dinner. The food was excellant as usual. We had the feast for two (always to much food) and took home our desert which the hubby ate for two days!!! Our server Carlos was VERY attentive, so pleasant AND such a nice gentleman to boot. Another wonderful night out and wished there was one closer to West Seattle but we'll drive to Federal Way again for this meal."

  • "Had the "Meat and Mud $17.99 Special" served all day on Wednesdays. The meat was an 8 oz portion of prime rib and the mud was a good-sized slice of mud pie atop a chocolate cookie-crumb crust. A choice of 2 sides (from a menu of about 16 items) was also included. A small warm loaf of molasses-infused soft dark bread with butter was also served. The meal was tasty and filling. Our server Pinky did a fine job."

  • "I would like to say that the occasion was good with some reservations, mainly that the food was not up to the standard I normally associate with your restaurant chain. The appetizer platter was below expectations, my steak was good but my dinner partner asked for her steak medium and it came too rare for her, so they took the steak back and she had to wait for like 5 minutes or more for the steak to be returned to the table. I understand it was New Years and the place was busy, but the wait time should have been sooner. The desserts were good, and the drinks were fine, biut if i was coming for a business meal or social evening I would think twice, as I expect everything to be right when you are paying nearly a $100 for the meal."

  • "It ha been a long time since we had visited Black Angus and returning was like visiting an old friend. The rustic ambiance of the restaurant is welcoming and the menu is filled with classics. I had a filet and added crab legs to the plate for abut $13. After a couple of drinks we had our dinner which arrived cooked to order. The plate had a total of three broccoli flowerletts, a healthy amount of crab legs. The filet was on the smallish side and of average quality. At thee end of the dinner we were quite satisfied and found the tab to be very reasonable. We will go there again. Not really the quality for really special occasions but certainly a great place to go when you want a good meal and not break the bank."

  • "We had a group of 5, with reservations at 6:30pm. It was New Year's Eve, so it was packed. We got seated at 6:45. They sat us at a large table in the middle of other diners. For almost 10 minutes, we sat there and nobody acknowledged us, brought water or anything. A male server then came to the table, and I told him that we had been there almost 10 minutes, and he said "Well, nobody told me". What kind of attitude is that? No sorry, nothing. He took our drink order and then left. A female server then came and took our dinner order. She was very nice and cordial. Unfortunately, our food didn't meet our expectations. Our appetizers were the wrong ones from what we ordered, twice! Also, one of our steaks had been overcooked."

  • "My step-father didn't have the greatest experience, he felt his drink was watered down and his lobster was bland. When we told our wait staff about the lobster, the waiter was willing to do something about it,, someone else came back to our table and asked how it was, we told him, and he just said, "oh." No apology or excuse or anything."
