  • "Service is not what it used to be in years past. On a recent visit the bread was too late to enjoy and the soup never came. Had similar problems on the previous visit including no wine and no glasses, then not enough glasses and still no wine, finally followed by enough glasses and unopened wine. Felt like breaking the bottle neck off on the table edge. Finally flagged somebody down to open it. We all needed it by then. But - overall the food is good and in satisfying portions. You'll probably need a doggie bag before it's over. As always the prices are right, especially when coupon dining. "

  • "We routinely have family birthday dinners at this Black Angus. If we make a reservation, we are always seated promptly. The servers are attentive and friendly. Lots of food for the money-- we always bring home leftovers. It is great how we can add a small Lobster tail or grilled shrimp to our entree for only a few dollars more. Warm chocolate chip cookie with ice cream (big enough to share) for the birthday person. Yum!!"

  • "Every time we go to Black Angus, we always regret not going somewhere else. The steak quality is only mediocre. For the price you could go to a higher scale restaurant. The serving sizes for their specials are normally incredibly small. No matter if it says 8 or 12 oz. You will get a tiny cut. It will be tough. And rarely is it cooked to temp correctly. The cooks seem to think that black pepper is the way to season food. The potato au gratin and the green beans were killed by how much pepper was on them. And, to top it off, my medium rare steak was medium well. When sent back, the new one that came out was closer to raw than rare. Service tends to be friendly, if a bit slow or frazzled. So, all in all - don't bother. Not worth it."

The food was excellent and they were able to Accommodate our little extra requests. Our server Was considerate and didn't sing happy anniversary! Would definitely go back again ."

  • "It was a Tuesday night. 4th time to eat here. Reception at the door made me feel welcome. The waitress was wonderful and accommodating. The food was plentiful, perfectly cooked and consistently good. Enough left over for one more meal at home for 2 of the 3 of us. The booth was comfortable. The "background" music was just a bit louder, in a dining experience, where people like to talk while they are eating, needs to be and infact interferes with the ambiance."

  • "Service is really a hit and miss with Black Angus, our visits have been hit and with our server. This past Friday, we got the "miss", I think our table was not in our server's immediate area, she met us, after we declined to order drinks and only water, she sort of checked out..... Took our order, disappeared, came with the appetizer, disappeared, someone else brought us our main course, then she finally showed up to asked what dessert and oh, the bill. This was along the East Side of the Bar, if you ever get seated there....asked to be moved!"

After 15 minutes our salad and main course came out all together . Very disorganized service."

The food and bread was good but the overall experience was a 4 out of 10 due to the service."

People were waiting outside, but our reservation occasioned only a 15 minute wait...hmm.. we love restaurants where we can actually have a conversation easily, and the cozy booths offer the perfect ambience. Our server was friendly but seemed a bit rushed, and the table bus service spotty. We had to wait 15 minutes just to get water. Our entrees were delicious, however. Two of us had lobster and praised it. We'd return despite service being hit and miss."

  • "We have gone to the Dublin Black Angus before and specifically Dublin as it has seem to have better quality meals....unfortunately it has caught up with other Black Angus' in the area...the portions have been reduced and the quality of the prime rib meat has become "poor" and much smaller and thinner than before. Specifically our meal this time...the Wagon Wheel appetizer was MUCH smaller and fewer number of each item and the prime rib was very fatty, thin, and the meat was not as quality as years past. Hopefully they will get the message of poor reviews and correct to better quality, etc. or I will review much lower next visit....and then go elsewhere."

The rest of our party said their food was fine. Usually have very good food there, and hope it was a one time thing. It was my daughter's birthday, and it wasn't that busy for a Tuesday night. Service was good, but for $200.00 for the bill, expected better."

  • "We were immediately seated upon arrival. The service was very good. I ordered sauted prawns on a bed of rice, and it was delicious. My partner ordered a 12 oz. ribeye steak. The steak was cooked to order, but over half of it was inedible fat! We reported this to the server when we finished, and he apologized. He asked us if we wanted to see the Manager, but we declined. We both felt that some adjustment should have been made in the final bill."

It has been a few months since we have been there and I remember the Prime Rib being better. Artichoke appetizer was very good and so was the Ice cream and chocolate cake. They are not over priced for the area I live in (Dublin/Pleasanton) so it is a good value. I would go again."
