Black Angus Steakhouse - Citrus HeightsEarly Father's Day CelebrationWe took my elderly father to Black Angus the night before Father's Day, because Father's Day can be such a zoo. We requested a quiet booth in the back, and they gave us a great location where my father could hear our conversation. There were five in our group, and the semicircular booths with the high backs afford us to comfortably sit together and actually carry on a conversation. Our server was outstanding - polite yet engaging - and he was very helpful when we asked for a few things on the side. But the best part is their food - the steaks are always just about the best in town and with two sides, by far the best deal in town. I booked a reservation online and indicated that 1 person in our group would be in a wheelchair. We were seated immediately at a table with ample space to accommodate my father in his wheelchair. My father ordered the baby back ribs which he devoured! My husband and I ordered the filet mignon which was cooked to perfection and was absolutely delicious! Our son ordered a sandwich which he must have enjoyed because he ate every last bite! To top off the meal we all shared the decadent warm chocolate chip cookie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. It was the perfect ending to a perfect meal. There are quite a variety of meals to choose from. I had the Sirloin & Salmon dinner. The Salmon was delicious and not dry or overcooked. The Sirloin was cooked to perfection, however it seemed tough to cut and chew. My son had a Filet with a Lobster Tail and garlic mashed potatoes. His meal was excellent. I don't remember what the third person ordered but it also must have been good because he cleaned his plate. (It may have been prime rib.) The food is always pretty good. The service varies greatly. Mario was our waiter and was way above average. He did a very good job.
