  • "This is our son's favorite place. We like the decor and at lunchtime it's usually quiet' we got there just after opening time and there were not more than 10 people there. The current Campfire offer for two is very good value for money, 4 courses. However, the meat (New York strip steak) was a little tougher and had a lot more fat than we were used to from previous visits. The two new salads are a great addition. The server got the order wrong, brought cob salad instead of vegetable salad, but took care of the error very professionally. The remedied salad didn't arrive until the other two guests had almost finished their meal. By now, the steak on the salad was also cold (I assume it was warm when the first salad arrived). "

  • "The menu was good, but had changed since the last time we visited. My daughter was unable to get her favorite steak, which was no longer offered - a bacon wrapped filet. Instead she ordered a medium rare filet and received one that was very well done. She was disappointed, and we would have sent it back had a LAGE spider not appeared out of the bottom of the booth cushion and sat halfway up the backrest for a few minutes. I think it was sad we didn't offer it a drink, and we were sad that we couldn't be moved to another booth. Perhaps we needed to raise a scene, but I didn't really want to alarm the other customers, several who were on prom dates. We just wanted to get the heck out of there..."

  • "Black Angus seems to have gotten their mojo back. We had some poorer quality steaks this past year, but both our steaks were excellent tonight. Grant also provided wonderful service to us. My only real negative was being seated in the bar area at a table - the chairs were so uncomfortable."

  • "Our waiter was not very nice. He didn't smile once at us. He was very brisk and we didn't feel welcome at all. He tried to give my cocktail to the table next to us, then didn't even apologize. With that said, the busboy and the people who delivered the food were excellent and were joking with us and made us feel welcome. The food was good too. I wouldn't have left a tip except for the fact that the busboy would not have received anything either. I usually give very good tips as I was a bartender for 18 years and understand how it works."

He said 'its just here' like I was supposed to know the swinging/flip drink menu had desserts on it without being told. I asked for menu that had the special white chocolate bread pudding on it (I wanted to read it as I have allergies) and he passed it to me and then went straight and ordered it for me. I asked him when he came back after dessert was served if I could order something else and he was a little patronising. I ordered but canceled as it had already taken so long."

  • "Service was very bad. Both steaks that we ordered came out significantly underdone compared to what we asked for. They took both steaks back and "refired" them - the result was one came out okay but the other came out burnt on the outside and still rare on the inside. We had to escalate to the manager and after discussion with him at least they didn't charge us for them. There were also several other service issues where we had to ask for more salad dressing several times (and never got it) and had to ask for bread several times (and it finally came). Overall not a good experience."

  • "Twice I've ordered Prime Rib at a Black Angus lately, and I don't remember ever having had this problem in the past. Instead of the traditional au jus, they serve a small cup of gravy/sauce that tastes likes packaged gravy you buy at Safeway. Totally disappointing. I've been eating Prime Rib in hundreds of restaurants all over the country, for over 50 years, and have never been served anything but the regular au jus. I mentioned it to one of the waiters, and his only response was "we've been serving it all day, and no one else complained!! That wasn't what I wanted to hear, I won't order it again, but I would go back and order a steak. Their appetizer plates are great, and everything else is good, especially their Cesar salad."

  • "Most everything is good except the food portion. My son ordered the filet mignon and I ordered the prime rib. We presented the Black Angus dinner for 2 coupon. When our food arrived, I was having the "where's the beef" moment. The filet mignon was about 2.5 ounces and my prime rib is about 4 ounces. We were not expecting a regular portion but what we got was just too pitiful. They can only be consider appetizers and not dinners. The coupon was for $39.95. I think we only got half the value for our money."

  • "we had wanted to spend some time, with our friends, at a place where we thought the food would be good and where we could talk. as it turned out, the black angus was the perfect spot to do this. as it was to be on a saturday night,i decided to make a reservation. this is the only was to go on a weekend night,as the place was very busy. we were taken in within a few minutes of our reservation and seated in one of there booths. we were able to have a nice meal and althought the place was somewhat noisey, still able to converse with our friends."

Appetizer was good (we got the sampler platter), we ordered the salmon and rib-eye steak (extra $3 for rib-eye) for the entrees and each included two sides, and then we shared a fudge cake which we took to go. All the food came at a great pace and the service was excellent from both our server and others helping. I would recommend them highly."
