  • "Black Angus has been around a long time and has been a mostly reliable steak-house with high back booths, but suffers mostly from inconsistency. Today's visit was nice. My recommendation is to go early, before they get to busy. The prime rib was delicious, thick and had very little fat. On other visits, I received an odd portion which was only half edible. It was served with real horseradish as well as a horseradish cream sauce. The salad was the typical fair and the broccoli with melted parmesan was good but minutely portioned. Their wine list is small and unimaginative. The server was very good, and the food arrived at a nice pace which allowed conversation and relaxation between courses. I hope this trend is adopted in future visits."

  • "Yes, there was a free dessert for my birthday and we got to sit on chairs instead of those dreary sunken booths. But the decor is so unappealing. It looks dirty and tired. Restrooms unimpressive. All booths not good for groups. Definitely not a hot spot or a gem or appropriate for special occasions. Hardly a vibrant bar scene. Didn't notice outdoor dining. Needs refurbishing, light and glitter, remodelling. It's depressing going in there. Drinks were overpriced. Food was good! When I said I didn't want pepper on my prime rib the waitress said they all had pepper on them already. I suggested they wipe it off and pretend it's customized. The prime rib seemed pepper free when it came and exactly medium rare."

  • "The steaks were done to perfection. The vegetables needed to be softer and the green beans were not only hard and tough, but they were very stringy, as well. For the price of the meals, we felt a soup or salad should have came with the meals as well as the two sides. The waitress did come over and take the green beans back and tried to cook them a little more, but it didn't help. She and the manager both offered a different vegetable, but didn't offer to make any other type of compesations such as something more off of the price other than the coupons we already had or even a free desert to make up for it. The rest of the food was great and the coupons we had did help."

  • "We had a very good meal which included sirloin steak, a half slab of ribs, and a chicken breast or prawns. It came with two side items also, which includes soup, baked potato, green beans, garden salad and many more items. This was a mixed grill trio special and was definitely a good deal, everything was tasty and done well. We took a lot home so that we could try some desserts, we had the seasonal butter cake and the white chocolate bread pudding."

All employees are extremely friendly and accomodating. Great atmosphere too. Their booths are tall so they block noise and you can actually carry on a quiet conversation and hear each other. Would highly recommend anytime!"

  • "Took Dad (and Mom) to Black Angus on Father's Day. My parents ordered an appetizer. Since my wife and I were hungry, I asked the server to bring salads for my wife and me when she brought the appetizer. Apparently, this threw off the whole program. Server brought all four salads first. My wife's salad was supposed to have dressing on the side - it was all over the salad (including the fork). Also was missing half the ingredients, so had to send it back. My salad also had dressing all over the fork. About 10 minutes later, the appetizer finally shows up. Then before salads and appetizer were finished, main course shows up. No room on table for everything. My wife has to put her salad plate on the seat in the booth. Ugh."

  • "This restaurant is where we go when in Phoenix and we want to celebrate something: in this case my 65th birthday. We arrived at our reservation time but still waited for about 10 min as the restaurant was quite busy. The staff, as always, was extremely cordial, making you feel very welcome. For the three of us we had 2 steaks and a filet mignon. All 3 arrived cooked to order and were very tender and exceptionally tasty. The only less-than-positive aspect was the red wine arrived at too warm a temp. I was surprised with a giant chocolate-chip cookie and ice cream with a candle and a special happy birthday song from about 5 of the staff. All in all, a great way to celebrate a birthday. We'll definitely be back."

  • "Value, Quality and flavor is the best I have had in the Valley. Menu had many choices and the serving sizes were large so we ate family style to enjoy many of the very good side dishes. It was an early Fathers day event, which was enjoyed by all parties. Shrimp was a bit small in size but very tasty! the Filet's were prepared to our satisfaction and very good flavor. I would definitely go back for another event/ dinner and encourage others to do so. "

  • "I hate to say this as I was disappointed expecting more from a quality restaurant, the service was about the worst my wife and I have had in a long time. the only thing that was efficient the waitress taking our order,other than that we had to ask for everything like table settings,checking on quality of food and even for malt vinegar which she said she could'nt but eventually did findNever checked on us ,we could have left with out paying the bill.NOW COMES THE FOOD ,we ordered the fish&chips plate we like that ,the fish which is supposed to be flakey needed a knife to cut it about like a steak consistency.Forgot to mention the food brought to the table was very timely maybe because under cooked .The #1 thing the waitress was very plesant"

This is an excellent idea-not too many local restaurants allow for this. The cost was reasonable. It was my wife's birthday. and we celebrated it at this restaurant and were given a free desert. The ambiance was excellent and the seating was very comfortable-a special dining experience."

  • "Over the years, Black Angus as deteriorated into a basic restaurant. The steak was advertised as a 16 oz Ribeye, but was very thin and not more than 8 oz. when cooked medium rare. The taste was decent, and the Blue Cheese Butter added extra flavor. My sides of steamed Broccoli and coleslaw were equally small. It was a decent experience, but far from the Black Angus of old."

  • "The prime rib was very good, the sides were cold,we didn't select a brand of wine, just kind. I guess for Mothers day it wasn't too bad. I really enjoyed all of the wait-staffs cherry nature. That's not so easy to maintain, they are to be commended. I would come back again, earlier next time, to enjoy the prime rib once more. "
