  • "We were told there was a private room so that is why we scheduled the party there. The room ended up being a large semi-private room that is separated from the other section of the restaurant where they had put tables together to have a long table and then there were booths also in this room but they did not sit customers at them. The food and service was great...they had a shipment of crab come in so that was perfect. There was a issue where the table set up was not good, we had people with their backs to others and we could not all see each other at the table So we moved the tables around to make it more enjoyable for everyone."

I do not understand why they would do this. The ommision of the ribeye on the special, might deter me from future visits, but we will just have to wait and see."

We had the summer grill special with steak, grilled prawns and bbq chicken with our favorite sides of grilled asparagus and broccoli. This is one of the few restaurants where you have some choices of fine vegetables. Our steak, chicken and prawns were cooked perfectly!"

  • "Our two NY strips were laden with fat and gristle, one 20-25% and the other 30-35%. That left an actual steak of 10-12 ounces, which we ordered rare and got pink. Service was better, but we still had to ask for dish removal. We specifically told them of wife's birthday on reservation, but that was totally ignored. After dinner, we complained, and the manager bought our two glasses of wine ($15). We've eaten here several times a year since the week they opened in the early 1970s. Food is still good and plentiful, but the details have gotten inconsistent, even sloppy. Baked potatoes have gotten smaller, but the Caesar salads and Wagon Wheel appetizers are still plentiful. Grilled asparagus looked and smelled a little weird, but tasted okay. "

  • "My party of 5 all ordered the Wednesday night special of the day. The cuts of beef were tiny compared to the plate they were served on and the baked potatoes were all the size of tennis balls. I was expecting a steak house type presentation but was left feeling like I had missed something. The atmosphere is very nice and rustic which I would expect from a classic steak house, but I was left with the impression I came at an "off typical" service night and the portions were reflective of such."

They sat us in a rounded booth which is great for keeping the kids in. We ordered drinks and an appitizer. Just minutes after ordering dinner our salads arrived and so did our appitizer. The flow of the whole meal was perfect. Just when you finished one course the next would be coming out. Both my husband and I got steaks. They were amazing, cooked to perfection and no salt, pepper or sauce needed. We will definatly go back again!"

  • "We've eaten here once or twice a year, including during their first month in the 1970s. Alert and helpful servers have always made this a reliable place to eat. Other staff had to cover a couple of times for this not-too-busy waitress. Not once, even after we complained to the assistant manager who stopped by, did the waitress take away any dishes, until we told her to. We also asked her to hold our steak order until we told her to put it into the kitchen, since we always eat our steaks very rare. She didn't, and they were brought to our table just as we were finishing our appetizer and starting on our salad. The food (twin NY strips) was delicious and cooked to our order. The manager took one steak off the bill, since it was 1/3 fat."
