  • "We've eaten here once or twice a year, including during their first month in the 1970s. Alert and helpful servers have always made this a reliable place to eat. Other staff had to cover a couple of times for this not-too-busy waitress. Not once, even after we complained to the assistant manager who stopped by, did the waitress take away any dishes, until we told her to. We also asked her to hold our steak order until we told her to put it into the kitchen, since we always eat our steaks very rare. She didn't, and they were brought to our table just as we were finishing our appetizer and starting on our salad. The food (twin NY strips) was delicious and cooked to our order. The manager took one steak off the bill, since it was 1/3 fat."

  • "Understandably the restaurant was very busy. I made a reservation for 6, we were seated 25 minutes after 6. We ordered appetizers (sampler and steak cups). When appetizers arrived, there was minimal lettuce for steak cups and lettuce was limp and wilting. It took an hour and a half for our food to be delivered and some advised that portions of their meals were cold. One member of our dinner party didn't receive his meal and we had to ask for it. Our waitress was very cold and unfriendly. We kept in mind that it was a busy night which isn't her fault, but it also wasn't our fault. The restaurant was understaffed for such a busy night and more staffing is a must! We would love to come back and give the restaurant a second try!"

  • "A few years back we decided to have Thanksgiving dinner at Black Angus, Albq. restaurant as we were leaving town early the next morning. This turned out to be a great option - good food, service and prices. This time around was completely the opposite. We had nearly an hour wait even with our reservations ! Restaurant was less crowded then previous year and yet our waitress was very inattentive. The worst part, turkey tasted like salmon ! I usually really enjoy eating out here, but this escape from holiday cooking and cleaning is a memory best savored from years past."

The ribs on one or the orders was very dry, and my lobster tail on my steak and seafood platter was very, very tiny and very dried out. Like a little piece of rubber. The size of a shrimp. Very surprised by the tiny size of it. The steak was great thou. I had a glass of merlot, and it seemed watered down and weak. I love merlot, and that was not a good glass of wine. The food as a whole is good, and we enjoy the staff. We would always go back there."

  • "I can honestly say being new to abq that if we hadn't received a special coupon for dinner that we probably would never have come in. Simply because there are so many other chain restaurants that we know and love (I.e. Outback, Texas Roadhouse, longhorn). The food was decent, but not as good as I would have hoped for a price of $58 AFTER our coupon. The fire grilled chicken was under seasoned, te loaded baked potato extremely dry. The steak was a little rubbery, but the wild rice and garlic mashed potatoes were amazing! We have another coupon for this restaurant but I'm not sure if we'll be using I it."
