First time to try this restaurant...is it fair to rate the restaurant on "Dineout"? Appetizer came out so fast that it felt like they were rushing too much, none of the main course were hot and I ended up getting new fish dish for myself, caramel dessert was pretty sad (3 out of 4 people just had a couple of bite). For my "Dineout" experience... I wouldn't go back here.

service was abit rushed due to it being really busy. food wasn't even finished when waiters tried to clear our plates.... overall still fun place to try , but steak sauce and dessert was not too exceptional . the steak and eggs was different for the appetizer, but decor was nice and seemed like a very happening place

After letting our waiter know that there was a piece of wire in my spinach, he did nothing about it. The restaurant called a few days later to ask about the service and I let her know the same thing, she also did nothing about it. POOR customer service.

Second visit, experience was much better. Food has been excellent both visits, but execution can be a bit poor. My white wine had red wine crystals in it, then later on my water glass was replaced and it tasted like the dishwasher (Chlorine). Waiter was attentive. Love the quality of the meat though, which will keep me coming back.

Congrats to Glowbal group for another great concept restaurant. It's definitely not your parents' steakhouse. Service was impeccable, management was engaging and involved with guests and my beef tenderloin was exactly what it should be: TENDER. The dessert was forgettable as the biscotti was way too hard. (maybe a caramel/almond crisp would have been better- isn't everyone a critic nowadays...) My husband and I enjoyed the music, the decor and the food. We marked it as a favourite and will for sure be back.

The food was excellent with a variety of items for differing palates. The staff were attentive and courteous but at times we felt bombarded by staff asking repeated questions. Although it is hard to complain about service being 'too good' it did tend to be a bit disruptive. The ambiance and feel of the restaurant were great and the value for the flavor ranks it among the hy's and gotham's. Thumbs up.

Disappointed with my seating. Reservation was at 5:30pm. There were lots of tables available inside the Resturant, and we were seated right by the door. Felt like I wasn't in the Resturant. Did not get the ambiance of the Resturant. It was a beautiful Resturant and the only time I got to see it was when I went to the washroom. The dine out menu was pretty good, but it felt like we were placed at the front of the Resturant maybe because I was doing the dine out menu???? Overall, I was a little disappointed with the experience.

The restaurant is very nice and is definitely the place to be. Lunch service was pretty good considering they were understaffed on the upper deck that day. The Snake River Rib eye is to die for once it was cooked right. Medium rare. The original one that came out was overdone. The Seafood Cicasse is very nice but the beef dip is soggy and this is before the dip. The side of fries was pretty sad. Overall would definitely come back for dinner just for the snake river wagyu. The follow up call is class act.

Dinner service took too long, however, it is understandable given that it was during Dine-Out. Small items were forgotten, like our request for hot sauce and hot mustard. We had to ask twice. Overall, our dining experience was good.

Tried the Dine Out Menu. Tuna Carpacchio was exceptional. Bacon and Duck eggs, and the Angus Tenderloin were excellent. Creme caramel desert was very good. The sablefish, however, was merely decent, and I wish that I would've had that instead of mooching off of my wife. The service was friendly and attentive, with no hint of pretentiousness. Will definitely go back to sample their regular menu.

Dined during DOV and must say it was more than what I expected from the Glowbal group. The food was delicious but not mind blowing. Having revisited their other locations in the last year all and coming to a disappointment I was praying Black and Blue would be different. The service is still lacking - never offered to take my jacket nor was my server attentive. I'll take that it's a super busy night and it was during DOV but it is not excuse for my entree to be 45 minutes later. At the end of the day I would love to revisit this restaurant after the DOV season.

A great steakhouse that delivered great food. You definitely leave the restaurant a little heavier than when you walk in. My main complaint would be the wine list is way overpriced. Most restaurants markup their bottles of wine by about 2.5 times. This place seems to think their wine is worth more than 3x the BCLC price. I can understand for the wines that are harder to find, but it was a little much when it's across the board. Make sure you try the Mac and Cheese - it's not what you expect.

My husband has AMEX Front of the Line privileges. Unfortunately, the entire dining experience had us feeling like second-class citizens. We were not seated in the main part of the restaurant, but rather near the entrance immediately beside a large wine rack. All evening waiters were literally reaching over our heads to get wine bottles. It appeared these tables had been simply added to make room for more diners, with no concern as to their dining experience. Our meal, while delicious, was delivered without crabs legs (which were mentioned in the menu). When we pointed this out to a manager, we were treated like we were 'lying' and had to PROVE they were indeed on the menu. Our bill was more than $350, so we were very disappointed.

Hostess was really snobby upon greeting us and quite rude. Management quickly took hold of the situation and made our experience much better. Food service was extremely slow to the point the manager came and personally apologized for the kitchen delays and offered us free dessert. Several other groups of our friends that were dining there at the same time as us said the service was extremely slow. Food was ok, we got the PEI steak, but was not as tender as we had hoped.

The food at this restaurant was very good however it is the most terribly managed restaurant I have ever been to. I made reservations for 8:15pm and did not get seated until 9:10pm. The management there did not even seem concerned that I waited that long for my table. From there the food took a very long time. We did not actually finish our dinner until 11:45pm. Our waitress was very good, but I think the issue is that the restaurant is poorly managed and you see some people standing around not doing much, while customers are sitting around waiting for their tables. They did not even offer to pay for our drinks that we had while we waited an hour for our table. What is the point of making reservations?

This restaurant should not bill itself as a steak restaurant...3 of 7 steaks were cooked incorrectly and the rest were mediocre. The sides were forgetable, and the appies were average. The meal was not worth the price and will not go over well in Vancouver, a city known for excellent cuisine and high standards in dining. The service was slow, verging on rude and defensive when the poorly cooked steak was sent back and over-sweet cocktails were not finished. I would only go back for cocktails at the bar, not for another meal.

Food was great, Appies: lobster salad (DELICIOUS), French Onion Soup ( adequate temp (it was hot), but too salty), prawn cocktail(great, but not as great as Morton's) Entree: Rib eye bone-in, a little over done, but didn't bother to have it replaced bc service was slow dessert: butter cake (delicious), Kobe burger (just another burger)

We were looking for a replacement steakhouse since Morton's departure. This place seemed promising, but definitely under-delivered. Steaks: A good steak should stand alone without any sauces. A good cut of meat can still be ruined by poor cooking methods/delivery. Nothing special. I can get this steak anywhere. Appetizers: The standard trendy and classic items. By far, their appetizers stood-out more than their steaks. Service: Fair. To each their own, but this place was not worth the hype.

I went to Black & Blue really excited since most of the Glowbal Group restaurants are pretty good. I have to say I was very disappointed with this restaurant. I ordered the crab cake fondue and it was not good at all. For my main meal I ordered the sablefish. When it came out it was 5 thin slices of sablefish with a bit of garnish over it, it cost $30, are you trying to rip off your customers? I mean at least give a decent size portion for the amount your customers are paying? My friends and I were shocked at the portion size to price of the dish. I still can't believe I paid $30 for two bites of fish. I can confidently say I will never return to this restaurant ever again.

My husband took me to Black & Blue for my birthday. I had the Stuffed Mushroom as the appetizer....it was very tasty. My husband had the Ceasar Salad and said it was OK but too lemony for his taste. We then had the PEI Blue Ribbon Filets....they were amazing and melted in our mouths. I had the mac and cheeze sticks as my side and my husband had the brussel sprouts.....both very yummy! Our server was very attentive and the timing of the food was perfect. :oved the setup of the restaurant and the way it is decorated...full of energy but a little noisy if you are looking for a romantic dinner. The only negative to our evening was we have a 8:30 res and we didn't get seated until 9:15ish. Even after that, would definately go back!!

Excellent steak (cowboy cut snake river). Appetizers (lobster bisque, cesar salad and carpaccio) and sides (macaroni and mashed potatoes) were horrible. Butter cake dessert was good. Huge wait time for appetizers and main course - 1hr between appetizers and main. Roaming salad cart was awkward - chef should make your salad, not your server. Food Ok...can have comparable steaks anywhere else. Blue Ribbon Tenderloin was ok, my boy friend ordered the Blue Ribbon Rib Eye and it was maybe the worst rib eye steak we ever had. No flavour, not sure if they grill or pan fry all steaks but this one tasted like it was microwaved. Appies and sides were ok but again nothing special. I have been waiting to go for dinner ever since it opened in late October. My first dinner there did not disappoint at all. The service was the usual outstanding service I've come to expect at all Glowbal restaruants and the venue was stunning. It was a perfect spot for our New Year's dinner. Being that it's New Year's Eve, they had a shorten menu, and foie gras was not on it. I was a little sad as I've been looking forward to trying the seared foie gras ever since I saw it on the menu. Luckily, the chef agreed to make it for our table! I was so excited and it lived up to my expectations. Next came the steak and I went with the PEI Blue Ribbon ribeye. This was hands down the best steak I have ever had! I highly recommend this restaura
