BittersweetBest MealI have to provide kudos to the folks at Bittersweet. I've been before, and really enjoyed the setting, service, food and wine. I went back with family about a week ago. It was the best meal I've had in Denver. I do not say this lightly, but as someone who dines out way too much and has frequented most (who can say all? New and interesting restaurants in Denver are opening on the regular!) of the hotspots. My meal was simply amazing from begining to end. In particular, the Iberico pork was delicious. Cheers!5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMVery imaginative presentationsVery imaginative presentations of very well prepared ingredients. My wifes fish was undercooked, they prepared a whole new meal for her. Allowed us to sample the wines.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was my 4th time visitingThis was my 4th time visiting Bittersweet and I will continue to return. The food was amazing and Kellyn, our server, was so knowledgable about our dishes. Thanks for a great dinner!!!4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food, but be preparedExcellent food, but be prepared for a noisy environment. Could use some acoustic softening.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMFood prep generally very interestinFood prep generally very interesting and unusual. Menu lacked a fresh fish option but perhaps there was none available. Kiwi coconut sorbet was a disappointment in that it tasted like neither but more herb like; I would not order again. Service was prompt and our waitress was helpful though she stated that all was her favorite. We really enjoyed a quiter restaurant so that we could actually hear our dinner partners in conversation. I hate a noisy restaurant that I am paying top dollar for...I can get that with children....4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat dining experience andGreat dining experience and food. Rivals anything in town.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMReally enjoyed their $40 three-courReally enjoyed their $40 three-course tasting menu (with wine pairings included, no less!) last Thursday with a good friend. Lovely presentation and great vibe. Will return!4/11/2013 12:00:00 AMA great find! InterestingA great find!
Interesting twists with the food and drinks.
Try it, you'll like it!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWe love introducing our friendsWe love introducing our friends to Bittersweet. Its a charming, sophisticated, and initmate spot.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMInteresting dishes but notInteresting dishes but not a lot for those who don't eat meat. Service was outstanding.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMI was reluctant to try BittersweetI was reluctant to try Bittersweet after reading some extremely good and some rather bad reviews. I concluded that most of the negative reviews were related to the cost of dining at Bittersweet. I'm happy to report that my experience was exceptional. Food was creative and delicious. Service was kind, attentive but not hovering. No sense, whatsoever, of a rush, despite it being a busy Saturday night. I shall return.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMOur server was fabulous -Our server was fabulous - she made sure we had a great meal while getting us out in time for the ballet (and without feeling rushed). The food is always creative, interesting, and spot on.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMDate night success! We had a great time. I am a small guy, but love to eat, so I would definitely get at least one appetizer per entree.
The service was amazing. Tiffany, our waitress, was extremely knowledgable and helpful.
The taste of the food is where this restaurant shines beyond anything else. Presentation and taste take priority over quantity here. All the "parts" to each dish make a perfect combination of flavor with each part adding to the whole. I have not tasted food that good in a long time, and we cook at home all the time with my wife being an excellent cook.
The atmosphere was great. We went for our date night that doesn't happen very often, and it felt very nice.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was the first time myThis was the first time my girlfriend and I have been to bittersweet. We went for the Thursday night 3 course tasting menu paired with wines and were blown away by the food. What a great job. Each course looked like it was meticulously prepared and it was the perfect portion size for the chooses so we weren't overfull. Or server knew a lot about the wines which were paired each course. We are very happy and will definitely be back.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMTry the Rosemary sorbetIf you are an adventurous foodie, then Bittersweet might be a real treat.. But for the average diner, not so much. I checked the menu on the website before going, and found items I was excited about trying. But none of those selections were available once we arrived at the restaurant. The waiter explained that the menu changes regularly.. Okay, then keep the website updated or don't show a menu online.
The ambiance and service at Bittersweet are impressive. If the food was less pretencious, I would come back regularly. However, I would have to say that out of the three courses my companion and I ordered, the only items we enjoyed were the wine, the sorbet and the french-pressed coffee.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMExquisiteWe just ate at Bittersweet for the second time. We are going to have to make it a regular dining spot because the entire experience is nothing short of exquisite. The server, the food, the bar--everything exceeds expectations. In a crowded restaurant market, Bittersweet stands apart from the rest. In addition to this, the space is very tastefully designed with a warm and modern look. I probably don't need to add this, but TRY THIS RESTAURANT!!!3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWhile I enjoyed my entireWhile I enjoyed my entire experience at Bittersweet and found the food to be quite good, the highlight by far was dessert. Bacon! What more can I say than this dessert is the brain child of a genius pastry chef. It was salty, sweet, porky brilliance - and utterly surprising. Who expects funnel cake at a nice restaurant?3/9/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was excellent, althoughFood was excellent, although potions are very small. $ to oz of food ratio is very high.
Menus for food, drinks and wine were very pretentious. My wife and I consider ourselves intelligent and well read people, but the items on the menus were totally unknown. The wait staff was more thann willing to explain any questions we had, but we were hungry and didn't have time to go over each item on each menu.
I don't go out to dinner to be made to feel like I'm a country bumpkin. We probably won't be back. Ther are too many other good restaurants that don't test our culinary vocabularies.11/30/2012 12:00:00 AM
