He absolutely loved it because he could have all his very favorite foods (steak tartar, mussels, artichokes, lobster) in small enough portions to enjoy all of them in the same meal. The pomegranate martini was excellent, as was an unusual rose cava that went very well with many of the small plates. It's a little bit pricy.....$150 for two, including tax and grat. But that included 2 cocktails, 2 glasses of wine and 7 small plates. The ambiance is quite lovely with a combination of tables and settees arranged in a slightly raised area just off the lobby itself. We were serenaded by an excellent Brazilian guitar and vocal duo that complimented the atmosphere very nicely.
Our waitress was excellent, friendly but very classy. She explained the Tapas concept and we each ordered two of the small plates to share,which with a lovely piece of carrot cake turned out to be just the right amount.Everything we ordered was very tasty, we especially enjoyed the short rib sliders and the steak bernaise. Each of us ordered two plates and we shared amongst the three of us. There was plenty to go around. The food was excellent! Service was really good. The small potions were the perfect size for sharing. The little bites make for variety of food and tastes and you don't feel like you are eating too much. It promotes a nice communal feeling.
