Bistrot Lepic & Wine BarGreat classical French foodGreat food and a happenin' wine bar. Fois gras to die for.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMMothers DayI chose this restaurant based on feedback from other diners and was not disappointed. The chef Simon cooked up an amazing foie gras, served with caramelized apples for appetizer, and lamb with Peruvian purple potatoes. The service was fantastic and the wine was delicious. I highly recommend. We sat upstairs in the back room and it felt private and quiet. The downstairs dining area was open and allowed you to feel connected to the goings on outside on Wisconsin Ave.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMauthentic french foodBistrot Lepic is our favorite French restaurant in Washington! The food is consistently good, authentic French bistrot fare, and the ambience is lively yet romantic.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMDinner at Bistrot LepicDinner for 3 last Friday was an outstanding experience--a very impressive first visit. We already have recommended Bistrot Lepic to friends & family. Food was only 4 stars as the escargot was not very good according to my Parisienne wife. My soup (Parmentière de moules et poireaux) and Foie gras de canard poèllé were excellent. All main courses were superb: trout, salmon and cassoulet du bistrot lepic. Desserts were exquisite: mango sorbet, crème brulée and pear tart. Wine list is superb. Wait staff service was prompt but never rushed our dining experience. The bar is well appointed with a fine list of spirits. Any place that has Delamain cognac is top shelf in our book much as the Bistrot Lepic is the epitome of fine dining in Georgetown.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMLive jazz while we ate...GreatLive jazz while we ate...Great eclectic choices. I will compliment the kitchen on the out of the world dessert we had!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMCozy, date night atmosphereCozy, date night atmosphere with friendly staff and wonderful food & wine. Will be back!4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMBistrot Lepic & Wine Bar wasBistrot Lepic & Wine Bar was the perfect place to take my parents when they were visiting town. It was quiet, so we could hear each other speak, the service was friendly, informative and beautifully timed, and the food was impeccable. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a lovely night out.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMStrongly recommended :^)I have made the reservation before I arrived in DC. Saturday morning, we woke up and after a short walk we arrived at our brunch place a bit early than our reservation. We did not know that it was opening exactly at 11:00am so we walked around up and down on the same street until seated. We were greeted nicely and treated very well. Since we were the first clients the atmosphere was very quiet in fact with a very quiet classical music. I have ordered Oeuf a la truffe noire and it was a great egg dish. We were very happy with the bread basket we ordered and they also offered complimentary sparkling wine for us.Overall we had a good brunch and the money we paid was worth it. Strongly recommended.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMA delightful eveningWe had wonderful service. Our entrees were delicious (soft-shell crabs, salmon in a potato crust, and a veal chop). Desserts were special (warm, caramel-apple tart and chocolate mousse). We were there for three hours, and no one rushed us. Our waiter came around to see if we needed anything, but he was unobtrusive. It was a wonderful experience! We'll go back.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMWe hadn't been to Lepic forWe hadn't been to Lepic for several years, back at the height of its popularity. It has been redecorated (freshened up) since then; accoustical panels float tastefully in the ceiling to reduce noise; and the atmosphere is less frenetic.
Our waitress was a pro - she recommended an outstanding wine from within our price range. Everyone's food was terrific. It was a Saturday night, yet when it was apparent that the four of us were very engaged in conversation, we were not pushed to order. Food and wine prices were in line with their quality and the level of service and ambiance.
We look forward to returning soon.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and wonderful staff.Great food and wonderful staff. The wine bar upstairs is also a gem for a drink and still great food. Don't know why we waited so long to come here!3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMBistrot Lepic PrevailsI discovered Bistrot Lepic years ago cross referencing Washingtonian and the Zagat Guide. I have never been disappointed. Where else in D.C. can you regularly sup on veal cheeks and cassoulet? The staff is ever friendly, the wine list superb, and you can run into Donald Rumsfeld there being normal. What is there not to like?3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMFun french with good wine listWe always like to have a meal here when we find ourselves in DC. The food is usually very good, the wine list has a good selection of nice wines, and the service is professional and knowledgeable, especially with regard to their wine list. The only aspect that was a bit off-putting was that they declined to seat us, or any other groups, in the table for 4 in the window area (nice, bright seating with a great street view). They indicated that the table was 'reserved,' yet no one sat there through the lunch seating!3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, service..goodGreat food, service..good wine selections..a first choice place!3/15/2013 12:00:00 AM
