Definitely a little gem. Classic and nouveau French cuisine with a wine list to complement taste and pocketbook. Five of us for dinner and departed with five very satisfied foodies. My personal favorite was Le Pic version of Coquilles st. Jacques. Large portion of perfectly executed scallops over a bed of broccoli mousse - an delectable fusion of broccoli, crème fraiche infused with a touch of ginger and a touch of butter. Will only add that one member of our party is a vegan and the chef was able to design a superb menu. Desserts were every bit as equal to the appetizers and main courses. Reservations advised.

I was meeting family for dinner and was looking for good food and a place where we could hear each other speak. Bistrot provided both. Though the menu is meat and fish heavy one vegetarian was able to find plenty to eat.

We live just around the corner on 34th Street from Bistrot Lepic so it is truly our neighborhood restaurant. We have been dining here since it first opened and have seen ups and downs. Now is definitely in an "up" phase and very welcome. I had the Lemon risotto with grilled shrimp and the preparation couldn't have been better. Subtle lemon flavor and perfectly grilled juicy shrimp. This is traditional French food subtly updated

I started my diner with the most delicious flavorful pesto, followed by a small onion pie with salad. The pie was a tad pale and its crust slightly undercooked. The pie was somewhat disappointing. But as I just love pies, I got the apple pie for desert; it turned out the apple slices were hot, while the pie crust was cold. Not very pleasant to my taste. The waiter brought me another pie, this time evenly warmed up. It was delicious. In conclusion, this simple meal could have easily deserved a 4-stars-plus if the person who is in charge of the pies would have payed a little bit more attention to his/her task at the oven. My $5 tip was not charged for it; I appreciated the waiter's gesture. I will go back to try again.

So glad I tried this restaurant. It's small, intimate, and the food and service was outstanding. The cheese plate we started with was great. I had a pork entree special that was delicious and well balanced by the sides. My date had the chicken and curry entree and was pleased as well. The chocolate mousse was a great choice for dessert. I was happy with the server's wine recommendation as well. Will definitely dine here again - great place to bring visitors or a date looking for good food in Georgetown without exorbitant prices or a loud bar scene. I'm looking forward to checking out their jazz night.

I love that the menu is very traditional. No "twist on" but pure, delicious, French cuisine. The service is friendly and welcoming. The ambiance is inviting and the noise level is very low. The food was both beautiful and very tasty and they have a very nice wine list. I would highly recommend dining with Bistrot Lepic.

Bistrot Lepic is one of my favorite, and most consistently reliable, restaurants. It was extra special this time because I went with a friend who had just returned from a three week trip to France. It turned out that our waiter was from the same area in Southwestern France that my friend had just visited. It was fun to listen to them speak, and intriguing when the waiter suggested a special wine from that area - a wine that neither my friend nor I had ever heard of. It was a wonderful wine that complimented a superb meal.

Couldn't have had a better meal in a better atmosphere. Appetizers--snails and pate--and main course--beef medallions for both of us--were simply outstanding. Service was there and helpful when we needed it, not there when we didn't. We split a nice bottle of French red and came away as happy as clams.

The wine tasting (Tuesday evening) is always a good time to visit the upstairs wine bar at Bistrot Lepic and explore French wines. And while there, enjoy some good food as well. The menu has been updated, with more choices of local ingredients. Pigs' feet are no longer on the menu (but can still be ordered), and cassoulet will be back on the menu later this fall. The ambiance is informal, the service is friendly, and the noise level is low enough to allow for pleasant conversation. Well worth the trip up Wisconsin Avenue, highly recommended!

This is a pleasant, neighborhood spot where we go on occasion for brunch. The food is well prepared (although the three-egg omelet looked more like a two-egg) and tasty. The breads are delicious. The main server (Vanessa) was terrific; her helper much less so. Great coffee. Alcohol will boost the price in a hurry. Faites attention!

The atmosphere and the food are truly French at Bistrot Lepic. It is quiet, small and friendly. We were three for lunch, and the calves liver was outstanding with a variety of interesting vegetables. My friends had the vegetable plate with broccoli mousse and about 4 other unusual vegetables.

We dined at Bistrot Lepic on a Sunday night (Labor Day weekend), during our first extended visit to DC in 40 years. The restaurant was almost full, but the service was excellent from beginning to end. My wife and I both had fish dishes - my wife had the salmon and I had the soft shell crab special - both were superior. I would also mention the beet and apple salad as an excellent introductory plate. The desserts were not spectacular but still very good, as was the coffee /capucino. Everything, including the wine, was fairly priced. We will definitely return to Lepic on our next visit to Georgetown.

While this restaurant is marvelous for a special occasion, pull-out-all-the-stops meal, it is equally marvelous for a casual drop-in drink or light bite. The menu is classic French fare, the wine list is extraordinary, and they thoughtfully offer half-glasses of wine for those who want to try different wines or who want a bit more than a drop but less than the full glass. The atmosphere is warm and friendly -- you can come in a group or on your own and feel fully welcome either way. The upstairs bar and lounge is my preferred space - convivial and often featuring great music. All in all, a fantastic bistro!

My wife and I visited Bistrot Lepic during restaurant week. The food was awesome with the right portions and good balance of less carbs which we both enjoyed. While the restaurant is small, there is still lots of privacy during our meals. If you are getting a table on opentable.com, I recommend putting a note for a corner table.

Pick carefully & Lepic can provide a good French meal w/o a passport. Visited for Fri. lunch during Restaurant Week. $20 & change bought us a lunch worthy of a local cafe in any one of Paris' arrondisements. Some pluses and minuses this time around: both ordered our favorite bacon & onion tart as an app. only to be told that "the kitchen was out." C'mon guys - it's a very popular item; please plan better....Finally the kitchen was able to deliver them, but they were galettes, not tarts. One of us enjoyed delicious beef medallions w/ Gruyere polenta but my salmon in shredded potato crust was soaked in oil on bottom. Kitchen ran out of fruit tarts for dessert, so they graciously packed up 2 chocolate tarts for us to go. Very good service. —

It's great to find a bistro that still serves French cuisine in the traditional way. They offer such items such as escargots and veal kidneys which you can't find anymore in the more trendy restaurants, served in adult sized portions. They may be the reason why this place has been in DC for a long while.

The restaurant was bright and cheerful and the sound level was low enough to hear your companion. The service was fine. The food, though, was of mixed quality. My wife ordered the mozzarella and tomato salad and an onion tart. Both were excellent. My first course was a cold peach soup. It, too, was fine. My entrée was medallions of beef, ordered "medium." It came "well done." I tried several of the medallions and they all were "well done." The food was fully edible and, indeed, I did eat it, but a restaurant of this quality should do better.

This was our first experience at Lepic, which is a short walk from Dumbarton Oaks. After visiting the museum, we had time before our 5:30 reservation and we were surprised the bar did not open until 5:30. I had the Provencale vegetable soup. Hubby had the onion tart. Both were fantastic. My shrimp (four) and risotto entree was delicious. Hubby had the scallops, which he loved. Although he has a big appetite and there only were four medium-sized scallops and broccoli mousse, he was fine because he wanted to save room for dessert. We shared a fruit tart, which was excellent. I thought the wine by the glass options were limited. No Vouvray or Cote du Rhone at a French restaurant?! Service was top-level. We would return.

Bistrot Lepic has been around for at least 20 years, and the reason isn't hard to find -- really, really good food in a classy environment at reasonable prices with excellent service. It's actually more dressed up (and less noisy) than a bistro, which makes it a nice place to celebrate a birthday or enjoy a quiet meal with a reasonably priced glass of wine.

We love Bistrot Lepic. It is authentic: the ambiance is relaxing, the food is very good, it has a good wine list, and the service is friendly. This time we took advantage of the complimentary wine tasting (Tuesday evenings, 6-8 p.m.) and visited the wine bar upstairs. The menu is more limited, but we enjoyed some very special "specials."
