The food just keeps getting better and they have turned the area behind the bar into a little dining room that is much more quiet than the rest of the restaurant. I had the steak with Frites. Instead of frites I switched to the cauliflower au gratin. It was perfect. The stake cooked medium rare, just as I asked and so tender and flavorful. The cauliflower was delicious with just the right amount of cheese, not to much, just enough to give it a great flavor. My husband ordered the beet salad and then scallops. He has had these dishes several times and keeps on going back to them. The French 75 cocktails expertly prepared by Matt are the best. They go so well with this kind of meal and I swear they can't be topped by any other restaurant in the city.

An odd salad of beets- eh if you're really tired of food go ahead and take it, but I had trouble finishing more than a few bites. Scallops with a sauce the only ruined the great scallops- but really are three scallops a meal? Nice service though.

This was our first dining experience at Bistronomic. We were greeted by the owner and seated immediately after our arrival which was at the tIme of the reservation. The food was very good. Both pâtés were excellent. The salmon, rack of lamb, duck breast and steak frites were all great. The baked Alaska and lemon tart were also outstanding. The waiter was attentive and did a great job. We enjoyed ourselves and will be sure to be back soon.

Bistronomic came highly recommended as I wss searching for just the right place for great good and atmosphere in a fun, upbeat and lively place but not so much that you couldn't not enjoy conversation. Bistronomic fit the bill perfectly! We started with wine and cheese recommended by our server - and it was absolutely delicicious! The farm market salad was wonderful and refreshing and the ravioli dish was a major hit. The chef was wonderful and energetic as he greeted his diners. Would go back again in a heartbeat.

I took a group of 5 from a medical conference there for dinner. We were all delighted as we enjoyed the food. I was disappointed that there was no Beef Bourguignon, but I tried the salmon and it was great. The lemon tart reminded me of numerous trips to Paris and eating late in bistros.

Five of us went on a Sunday for an early dinner after going to some presentations. This was our second time there. The service was excellent and they were very accommodating to the change in our party's number. It was disappointing that the pre-fixe was not being offered and we had to order only a la carte. The appetizers were uniformly good. The duck entree was alright but only average. Most of the entrees were standard and not particularly creative. The wine list had excellent variety for such a small list, more thoughtful than some of the dishes. Good, not spectacular

We cannot say enough about bistronomic, which is the brilliant embodiment of creative Chef Martial Noguier's immense culinary talents. His dishes are innovative, sophisticated and delicious. The only problem with eating there is limiting ourselves to a reasonable if slightly glutinous number of offerings. Every guest we have taken to bistronomic is overwhelmed by the sheer genius of his dishes. We give our highest recommendation to Martial and bistronomic. Bravo.

A French bistro in the ritzy area of Chicago that is reasonably priced and unpretentious. The service was excellent; the food excellent; the entire experience top notch. Kudos to a well-run kitchen and dining room. Although the room was noisy and crowded, it was not deafening. Our reservation was handled appropriately (we arrived 15 minutes early and had to wait, which was fine) by a polite and charming hostess, and then the food was served beautifully. I highly recommend the chicken for two, although this is one of the few times I would order any item on the menu. When in Chicago, we will be back.

I love French restaurants, but I didn't love this one. I thought it was quite pricey for what you got. My husband got the steak and frites. And that's all for $28. A rather small piece of steak and not the traditional French frites, but more American French fries with a coating. I got the country pate, which was good. I also got cauliflower au grating, which turned out to be cooked cauliflower with a thin, runny cheese sauce. I also got lemon broccoli, and I could barely taste the lemon. We won't be going back.

The others started to say yes, but he was gone. He did make excellent suggestions for wine, but never asked if we wanted more.

The first time we tried Bistronomic was a year and a half ago on the recommendation of our hotel's concierge. It was one of the most memorable nights of our lives. We went in and asked our waiter, Kenneth, if he was feeling adventurous and then put ourselves in his hands for a tasting/pairing evening. First time in our lives that we actually closed down a restaurant! So, naturally, we had to go back when we visited Chicago again. And once again, Kenneth and the entire staff amazed us. From the first course through the second round of creme brulee desserts, nothing but perfection!

In a groupf of 7 with family, friends and young children, I was looking forward to visiting this much-hyped restaurant for the first time. Though food was good, the available choice for lunch on a Sunday was very limited. Service was mediocre at best. Despite booking the table ahead of time, there was clearly no preparation by the restaurant as tables were physically being put together as we arrived despite of the restaurant not being full. A request for side/window table was not met. Valet parking was unnecesarrily long inconvenient; defeats the object of a valet service. The overall quality of food was fine though on the pricey side. Wine list was not great at all.

Remain superb. Wife had snails which were perfectly prepared. I had mussels. The best I have eaten in a restaurant in three years. Broth was a flavorful concoction of herbs, white wine, etc. Only preparation I have had recently is with mussels that my wife handpicks one by one at Issacsons. She adds a touch a saffron. Then the duck for two. Separate pep of leg and breast. Perfect. Dark meat was basted. Skin was terrific. Flesh fell off the bone. Breast, medium rare to rare, thinly sliced. Noguier has been weaving his culinary magic for years, going back to One Sixty Blue days and his demos of toasted cheese sandwiches (with Brioche and Camembert at the Randolph Street Market days. Laws said we could not eat. But we can eat at Bistronomic.

We were there to celebrate my husband's birthday. They have changed the back room behind the bar into tables and it is so quiet and nice, a real pleasure. The food has gone to another level. It is less Bistro and more fine dining. I had the escargot with the mushroom duxelles under each, to die for. The flavors just burst into my mouth and I love the bread they serve to sop up all the sauce. My husband ordered the beet salad and raved about it. Our entrees were the whitefish and the duck breast. The whitefish was served with a celeriac puree that blended perfectly with the lovely piece of fish and vegetables. My duck breast was cooked to my taste, medium rare, and was served with wonderfully flavorful vegetables. High End French.

My husband and I have been coming to bistronomic since its opening. Their menu has many staples that we never get tired of, and they always have daily dishes for us to try something new. We also like they offer dishes in different sizes so that we can choose to share, or have individual servings. So brilliant. It's a casual French bistro, but there's something about the beautiful decor that it makes bistronomic suitable for "casual business" dinner. We ask for a table in the main section for casual occasions and request a table in the back section for business dinner. Such a great place for all occasions!

Our family of three (all adults) went to Bistronomic on a weeknight this week to check out the new menu and owners. Our gracious host and her chef husband ensured a visit that was savoureux! We started off with a bottle of Chinon (Cab Franc), a family favorite. We shared PEI Mussels had ample broth and plenty of mussels. Fish soup was chock full of goodness from the sea, and a delicious, creamy, tarragon and saffron scented broth. The scallops came with a gorgeous pumpkin cinnamon emulsion. Somehow we had room for dinner. My husband and daughter shared the duck for two and loved the blueberry coulis and duck confit that went with it. I had the Faroe Island salmon. The fennel purée was perfect with it. Get B&W crème brûlée for dessert.
