Could have shot a cannon through and not hit another patron, so no excuses! Host forgot to give us menus when we seated ourselves outside: 10+ minutes until anyone acknowledged us once we were directed to seating. Service by server indifferent and inattentive; sped up a bit at payment time. Food not worth the money; beets in beet salad pale and overcooked; fish soup Meh; gnocchi ok, but "mid-size plate" was mostly sauce. The busser was attentive - high point of meal! This is the second time I've been here, so I blame lapse of long term memory on revisiting. I'm totally underwhelmed, but at least I qualified for 1000 points. It would take 10X that to get me back.

Our dinner was delicious! We were greeted in French by a lovely hostess. The beet salad and house made pate de campagne were very good starters. We then had steak frites- done just right! Could not have had better in Paris! Great location just off Michigan Avenue, within walking distance from our hotel. Highly recommend it!

Slow service to start. Waited 15 min for waiter to take cocktail order...he ended up also being responsible for mixing drinks, which he did very well. Wine list is OK. Duck confit was amazing, duck breast as large plate and cauliflower Augratin were both bland. Would have had better food review had we just stopped with cheese plate, tuna tartar, duck confit, and housemate ravioli. Large window in front is probably nice for brunch, but made the ambiance less bistrot for dinner...music review also needs to be contemplated...duck confit while listening to "Day-oh,.,tally my bananas" was very odd. Over all, good experience. Owners were present and clearly have a passion for their place.

Needed a place near Michigan Mile while waiting for kid at event. This place had high Yelp rating. Clearly a tourist trap. The tuna tartar was completely over blended couldn't taste a thing. The soup and beet salad were terrible - as were the mussels. Worst food I've had in a long long while. Really bad. They were very nice and our waiter (who was also the bartender) did his best. But the food just was bad. Will not be returning.

We stopped by the night before for a cocktail. The bartender was great, friendly, and mixed nice drinks. We were on our way to dinner elsewhere, but looked at the menu and noticed brunch was available the next day (Saturday). The choices ranging from classics like eggs benedict and quiche Lorraine to some lighter fare like country pate and beet salad made us want to come back. We were glad we did. The food tasted as good as it sounded on the menu.

We went to bistronomic for brunch while visiting Chicago for a family wedding. I picked it off Open Table's listing of available brunch spots because the menu sounded good and it was convenient (i.e., within walking distance of our hotel). It was an EXCELLENT choice. We arrived on the early side (10:30 am), so the place was not crowded yet. The waiters and staff were very friendly, and the food was amazing! We had the pate as an appetizer which was delicious. The eggs benedict was equally delicious, and I especially loved the brioche toast on which it was served instead of the usual english muffin. The chef even came out and stopped at everyone's table to check on them/their food. Definitely worth it!

The restaurant is small and cozy which was lovely and the food was good but didn't blow my mind. The waitstaff are very friendly and accommodating and the wine was great! I did enjoy that very much. They weren't pushy or didn't rush us when we ended up being the last table. The foulard duck was good but not great- the pommel frites were pretty good actually but could have used more truffle salt and park in my opinion and the gnocchi wasn't that great to be honest. I was hoping for more of a wow factor but not so much... not sure I would go back.

Very friendly waiter, made a good recommendation for cocktail Campari based - You Don't Know Jacques (French restaurant...). forgot an appetizer but made up for it by bringing another on the house. Small plates were aggressively small, and perfectly prepared and presented artfully ( but not too, artfully). Scallops esp, perfect, tender, sweet. Watermelon- shrimp salad tasty and tiny. Chef attentive. Choc hazelnut bar like a Heath bar on steroids - so good! Service allowed a lot of lingering but the ambiance seemed to encourage that. Restaurant was full but noise well managed by design details.

This was our first time at Bistronomic, went with 2 other couples. Everything was lovely from the moment we walked in. One of our group uses a walker & stowing it was so easily accommodated, I never even saw it being removed. Aside from the food (creative without losing the "French-ness"), the ambiance (special & comfortable all at once), & the service (right on point), we were amazed that nearly everyone we interacted with was actually... French! This, of course, just made the evening all the more authentic & the only thing we wished was that there had been room to try dessert! We'll be back!

Had lunch at Bistronomic with a friend. Overall, a pleasant find that goes onto my 'go back' list. Lovely, very modern décor. Not too many outdoor tables but pleasantly situated. Service was friendly and helpful. Our waiter was there when we wanted him, but didn't hover and interrupt repeatedly to see if everything was OK (some places do that to death). The food really shines. High quality ingredients, beautifully prepared and presented, and everything we had was absolutely delicious. I'd have given it 5 stars if the luncheon menu had been a little more extensive. Nicely representative of French bistro, but not quite enough choice. I'll go back for dinner where the menu is more extensive.

Went there for brunch with my girlfriend, and we had a very good experience. My only complaint would be the inconsistency in the service provided. There were times where the server came a little too often, and then others where he simply disappeared. However, other than that, the experience was very pleasant. Good food, good mimosas, outdoor seating is pretty nice, and not overly loud.

During our delicious meal, a lighting fitment fell on one of our diner's plates. No sooner than it had happened the wait staff and owner were at our table to clean up and with something to nibble on while the disrupted diner's plate was being re-cooked. They could not have been more apologetic and provided desserts and champagne for everyone without asking. We value a place that cares about its reputation and this chef certainly does. I just moved to the area and saw that this place had bottomless mimosas. I figured this would be my new go to brunch spot on the weekend. I came in with two friends visiting me. We had made reservations but had to wait forever to get them to set up our table (there was one other party in there). The waiter wasn't very friendly. We asked about a few items on the menu and he told us the bare minimum. We had to wave him or the hostess over several times to get a refill on our drink. Had to ask for water three times. It took 20 minutes for him to come over and get our credit card. We were going to a concert and were late because of this. I don't know what he was doing, it wasn't that crowded. Food was delicious though.

We were out of town visitors to Chicago starting Saturday morning at the Green City Farmer's Market. A stand pairing a sustainable shrimp farmer and a young chef from Bistronomic making shrimp sandwiches led us to dinner at this contemporary French restaurant within walking distance of our hotel. The country pate, the Amazing shrimp salad with luscious watermelon rind, potato gnocchi, mussels in basil sauce, creamy chocolate hazel nut dessert were all memorable. An outstanding service team, a pleasant outdoor table with a bamboo screen that permitted street viewing without feeling on display, gave an environment to match the good food. Wine choices were plentiful without staggering prices. Will return and recommend to others.

This is our second visit to Bistronomic, and we will certainly return. The service was attentive, well informed but not obtrusive. The wine list has reasonably priced varieties. We ordered the escargot which was cooked well, with just the right amount of garlic and oil. The scallops were excellent as were the steak frites and salmon entrees. The deserts were well executed. The place was surprisingly empty for a Friday evening, so it offered a good quiet place for a business dinner.
