bistronomicVery good food and excellentVery good food and excellent service. Third visit. Consistent. Bravo!!6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent lunch spotI'm part of a group of 6 guys (mostly attorneys) that lunch once a month at places where none in the group have been. Yesterday we went to Bistronomics and had its $18 two-course lunch special - a salad or soup and choice of 8 or 10 entrees. All six had different entrees and all were happy with their choices, and the soup & salad were very good as well. Several of the tables are outdoors.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of our favorites thatOne of our favorites that we frequent on a regular basis.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMStill a favoriteWe try to experience many of the new restaurants when we are here. Many are very good but we always find ourselves going back
To Bistronomics because it never disappoints.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMNice find without drivingWe were staying at the Sofitel and didn't want to drive so we were happy to find this restaurant. It was comfortable and the staff was friendly. Food was good and prize fixe option was a plus.6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent veggiesThe French food was excellent but the vegetables were unexpectedly delicious. Most beet salads feature an abundance of greens and a few thinly sliced beets. This salad was a simple presentation of golden and red beets with soft fresh goat cheese sprinkles. Absolutely delicious.
Service was efficient but not rushed. Will return.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing food!I went to Bistronomic this past Friday for my friends birthday; we were all a bit weary of it though as it was a last minute find and three of the four people in our group are culinary students. Upon arriving we were greeted and seated right away, even though we had arrived quite early for our reservation. As a table we tried the ravioli du jour, gnocci du jour, the daily tartar, escargot, beet salad, pomme frites, black and white creme, banana brioche bread pudding, and the baked Alaska. Every single thing we had was amazing, we were all sharing and ordering more after the first course. The portions are on the smaller side but the flavor each dish has makes up for it completely. The service was friendly and prompt.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was good - not great.Food was good - not great. good bistro fare not fine dining. i had the scallops with the pepper coulis - tasty but it came out on the cold side. my husband has the rib eye filet which he and i both loved. the dessert was ok - black and white cream brulee. the chocolate mousse was a bit runny and tasted more like chocolate pudding than mousse. the baguette was a bit dry. did not taste like fresh bread.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMUpscale Bistrot in our NeighborhoodBistronomic offers a sophisticated menu and the items are well executed. They are also able to accommodate groups of 6 - 8 people easily. Each person in our group tried something different for their appetizers and all were pleased. The star of the night was a Lake Superior Whitefish entree with a cherry, fig, carrot puree sauce. The truffle oil sauce. The truffle oil french fries were also a hit. We will definitely return.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMFood nomadGreat beet salad and organic chicken entree was tasty.5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMAbsolutely loved this place!Absolutely loved this place! Great food and a great atmosphere. We will definitely be back.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother grand slam for bistronomicConsistently excellent food, reasonably priced wine and friendly staff have placed bistronomic solidly in our top 55/16/2013 12:00:00 AMmother's day discoveryThe 3-course prix fixe meal for "brunch" was a terrific selection of choices that would have been hard to pick from as a dinner menus: the appetizer I chose, deviled eggs and smoked salmon with mache salad, was a delicious meal in itself. The price of $35 for the entire meal was an unbelievable bargain. The chef/owner, Martial, was circulating the room attentively and the service was great. My mom -and my husband and I - could not have been more impressed. We will be back for dinner soon.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMA Great French BistroDelicious food at affordable prices. Small, medium, and large plate offerings allow for sampling of a wide variety. The Haricot Vert salad was outstanding, as was the Parmesan gnocchi with chicken and mushroom reduction. Very good wine list. Two blocks from Water Tower makes this a convenient spot for a shopping break. I can't wait to go back.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved my meal!I went there with 5 friends and loved the experience! We were celebrating my birthday so we had a few drinks in us before we arrived. I was worried we might be too loud but the place had a good vibe and we fit right in. It's a tight location and they make use of all the available space but the service staff was great and the Chef even checked in to make sure everything tasted good. Me and 3 of my friends split the PEI Black Mussels to start and it was more than enough for all of us and very good. A number of us had the Glazed Short Rib for dinner and we all loved it. Perfectly glazed and when combined with a little of everything else on the plate including the candied orange you had the perfect bit of food. I'll definitely be back!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMA very interesting selectionA very interesting selection of food. Love the small, medium, and large plate options. Great service and ambience. The only negative, and one not unique to this establishmen, was the very high noise level.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was my second time hereThis was my second time here (I live out of state) and it's a very special place. The food is very savory and high-end ingredients and satisfying.
The service is wonderful and you will want for nothing.
I like that it's a smaller place so you can enjoy the view and not feel like you're in a big tourist area.
Reservations probably needed if you have more than two people.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMBistronomic Never Misses....EverThis was about my 10th time at Bistronomic and I think I like it more each time. It is by far the freshest food anywhere in Chicago and the service is outstanding.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved the varying plate sizesLoved the varying plate sizes - lots of options for sharing or differing appetities. Great to be able to hear each other without shouting. Staff friendly and informative but still professional. An elegant vibe but not stuffy.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMEvery dish was delicious--especiallEvery dish was delicious--especially the beet salad, mussels and black and white creme brulee--and the small, medium and large plate offerings encouraged sharing and enabled us to sample more from the menu. The ambiance was warm and inviting, especially on a chilly, rainy night. The room was full but we were able to dine leisurely, and the noise level never interefered with conversation. The entire staff was friendly and helpful.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMLittle Gem in a Big CityNot fancy nancy dining but well cooked French bistro food with attentive staff in a pleasant welcoming atmosphere. Would definitely recommend to my friends.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMBistronomic is a well priced,Bistronomic is a well priced, high quality restaurant! Loved our meal and had fun perusing the wine list which is extensive and well thought out. My Duck Confit was superb, as was all of our meals (there were 5 of us). The scene is hip without being snobby or too uber. It is casual and fun! Our server was great with a sense of humor and very professional.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMFood & Wine awesomeOur waiter did an outstanding job of recommending specials and wine. I love wine but don't know them. He made an excellent recommendation. We had the lamb roumalade, short ribs and steak and all were excellent. Its small, bit crowded but you don't hit your neighbors, space well used. Food reasonable priced and excellent.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful FindI was searching for a spot for an important client dinner, and found Bistronomic through Open Table. I'm so glad that we chose this spot. The service was outstanding. Our server was just that right blend of excellent suggestions without disrupting the flow of the dinner. The wine list was great -- varied, but not overwhelming and lots of unique labels that were not shockingly priced. And the food was just great. It was a table of 8 "sharers" so we were able to taste quite a bit of what was on the menu. And it was all lovely, especially the chicken liver mousse and the mussels. Thank you for such a wonderful dinner and taking such good care of us.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMSmall, medium and large plateSmall, medium and large plate options give diners great flexibility. Although we did not order wine, our servers were just fine with that. Wonderful food. Main objections are that the noise level can interfere with conversation and tables are a bit too close together.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our first time backThis was our first time back here since shortly after bistronomic opened in 2011. We thoroughly enjoyed everything we ate and also found the atmosphere easier, more relaxed -- last time everyone seemed a little stressed. The highlight for us this time was the duck confit: perfect. Looking for areas that could be improved, I'd start with the dessert menu, which is a little safe and not very French. That is in no way meant to take away from the quality of the desserts that ARE offered, though, which were very competently done. We'll be back next time we're in Chicago.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat restaurant, great chef.Great restaurant, great chef. High quality for money. And great service as well, the team is loyal to the chef and you can see they love working there,
Bistronomic is our french reference in Chicago. It's always a wonderful experience, either with friends or with our 2 girls. They love Martial, the chef, who is such a nice owner and cook. Just go and enjoy, you won't be disappointed and you will be back, no doubt.
Best is always to go for diner but book in advance. The brunch is pretty good as well.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMMy husband and I love Bistronomic! My husband and I love Bistronomic! French toast- amazing!!! Bottom line, we love their brunch menu, all of it:)!!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is the best restaurantThis is the best restaurant in Chicago. The service and food are spectacular. Everything is very fresh.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for brunch and dinner!I had been to Bistronomic for brunch and was curious about their dinner menu. I was equally impressed! It's a perfect place for a date or to catch up with friends.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was outstanding!! ThisFood was outstanding!! This was our first visit, fresh food, cooked to order. We will be back. Nice touch of having the chef visit the table to inquire about the food.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMbistronomic a not-so-hidden gemThird brunch there; we have not yet been disappointed. Easter brunch was prix fixe, three courses, but included all of their regular brunch menu items near as I could tell and was very reasonably priced. And I changed our reservation twice, from 4 to 6 to 8 people, and bistronomic was extremely flexible. I would highly recommend bistronomic for brunch - I look forward to getting over there in the evening soon!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is a gem of a restaurantThis is a gem of a restaurant that has personalized service, is quiet where you can actually hear your table mates as the music is quiet for adults.
the food is wonderful and is probably one of the best gems in Chicago. Great food at reasonable prices.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMOverall, wonderful diningOverall, wonderful dining experience. My husband and I are both foodies who own our own gourmet food store and we were extremely impressed. The mushroom sauce on the gnocchi had us digging into the bread to ensure we didn't leave behind any of the decadent mushroom reduction.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGREAT RESTAURANTWe decided to go to bistronomics on the spur of the moment and we won the jackpot. Everybody at that restaurant was very professionnal and friendly. The food was out of this world. E3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, more upscale butGreat food, more upscale but not too crazy. Very friendly staff.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMWe tried Bistronomic for brunchWe tried Bistronomic for brunch and were pleased. We expected the traditional "stuffy" French bistro scene and this didn't match that at all. The staff was very friendly, the decor was pleasing and the food was very good.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMOOOO LA LA! Bistronomic wasOOOO LA LA! Bistronomic was sooo good! Five of us ate there during Chef Week & everyone commented on how fresh and intensely flavored all the dishes were. We told Chef Noguier this when he came to our table to personally deliver one of the dishes! We were happy to find that despite ordering from the $44 fixed price menu, all of the portions were generous. My salad, entree(flat iron steak) & dessert(napoleon) were all delicious! I will definitely return.3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMOverall, this was the bestOverall, this was the best dining experience we had while in Chicago this trip. The only thing I would fault is the wine list...I found the wine list a bit intimidating. Why so few domestic wines? I'm from California and would have appreciated some wines by the glass that I was familiar with. When two people are ordering wine and one drinks white and the other red it is ridiculous to order two bottles of wine. I realize that Chicago may have an international clientel but there also must be a fair amount of us that live and travel in the US that are not familiar with wines from out of country. When I am in Italy i expect to have to ask for a recommendation but I shouldn't have to in Chicago.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had an excellent 3 courseWe had an excellent 3 course meal with great wine. Classic French cuisine in a very comfortable setting. We'll definitely be back!3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMThe best service!!! FoodThe best service!!! Food was excellent!! Our server was outstanding!!! We had a wonderful evening. Thank you! We will return! :)3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMVery nice for dates or small,Very nice for dates or small, quiet groups. Scallops were excellent although the mussels that accompanied were just so-so. The duck was very nice as was the bone in pork chop they had on special. Good size portions and nice dinning atmosphere. I would definitely go back.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, great serviceGreat food, great service. We will go back to this restaurant the next time we are in Chicago3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat spot for any occasionBistronomicss is one of my favorite dining spots. Because the menu hash all, medium and large plates, listed as such,I can scale my meal to my appetite and the amount of time I have to spend. The country pâté, tuna tartare and beet salad are among my favorites as well as the duck presentations.3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMI'm a pretty tough grader;I'm a pretty tough grader; almost gave this a 5 overall. Very happy with our experience and the quality of the food and will definitely come back.3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMCasual but elegantRecently I had to make a reservation for a pre-Opera dinner. I wanted someplace in the Loop less than 15 minutes' cab from the theater, something stylish and elegant but not fussy, someplace where we could get a good glass of wine and and excellent meal without wading through multiple courses and over-the-top "service." Bistronomic was the perfect choice. The staff was casual and friendly but prompt and professional. The menu was divided into "small," medium," and "large" plates that we were able to mix and match into a 3-course meal that was the perfect pace and size for our appetites and time frame. Wine list is very well-curated, with a broad range of styles and price points. ). It was a great experience and we highly recommend it.3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had an excellent meal theWe had an excellent meal the other night. Outstanding cheese flight. I had an amazing beet salad with truffle oil. The scallops were good, but not nearly as notable as my husband's filet. We would definitely go back.3/11/2013 12:00:00 AMMussels are the best ever! For the lasts 3 years we have eaten at Bistronomic just because of the fantastic Black Mussels. We love Mussels and these are by far the best. We also had lunch at Bistronomic and the food again was excellent. So when you are traveling to Chicago go to Bistronomic.3/1/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was imaginative,The food was imaginative, innovative and delicious. If it's available, the deviled egg with smoked salmon is not to be missed--such an interesting blend of flavors. The haricort vert salad is a delight, as are the scallops and fish soup. We enjoyed the opportunity to put together our own tasting menu. We will definitely be back.12/18/2012 12:00:00 AM
