Four of us had dinner here on Sunday night. The main restaurant and outdoor space were closed so we ate in a small, dark room across from the bar with no windows. Not a great setting. When the bread was served, we requested butter and when it failed to appear, we asked again with similar results. We ordered an onion soup, which was excellent. For main dishes, two of us ordered pork chop (one), which was small and overcooked, salmon which was ordered rare but was also overcooked and a steak which was ordered medium rare and served well done. The service was adequate. What can I say. We won't be back.

We stayed at the Double tree Hilton and wanted to keep it simple dining at their restaurant. The food was excellent. Homemade chicken soup was delicious for my daughter. I had the burrata and chilean sea bass. Flavors were amazing, fish coked perfectly. Husband had crab cakes and Homemade orrechiete both excellent. Prices are extremely reasonable as is the wine list choices and prices. Desserts were also excellent, a homemade chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwich and apple cake topped off the dinner.

We had a Groupon for four and went with another couple. Basically they give you the dollar value of the deal in this case $200 so we can order whatever we want up to $200 and pay for anything over. This Groupon also comes with a bottle of wine. I like this method much better as it doesn't limit you to a menu the restaurant chooses for you giving you more options. The food was very good although my dish came with too many fingerling potatoes and not enough vegetable. The French Onion Soup is the best I ever had with the Gruyere cheese melted until crispy and the soup was perfect and not salty as many onion soups are. My only issue was the service was a little slow but that was minor.

We were sat in the outside garden, as requested, and then it went downhill. Menu didn't appear, nor did staff. Bread served, no butter, water requested with lemon, no lemon, food ordered, wait time was impossible . When asked for the check, took a very long time, then incorrect. When it was recalculated waiter disappeared. We finally took the check ourselves to the reception area, and paid there. We watched as out waiter looked around at our table, and possibly noticed we were gone. There is no way to recommend this restaurant on any level.

The food at Bistro z was good. However, this is the second time that my wife ordered the shrimp cocktail and the veins were lefts in the shrimp. The first time it happened(last year), the chef came out to say he was sorry and we got a new portion. This time we just got a new portion. Which leads me to believe that this happens often. After we complained about the meal, the service went downhill from there. There were times that we could not find our waiter to get more water/bread or dessert. What should have been at most a 75 minute meal took over 2 hours. They also seemed to be understaffed for a Saturday night.

The food was excellent and the service was great. We did not know what to expect but thought we would give it a try. We will definitely go back. Appetizers were excellent - we had the crab cakes and the beet salad. Dinner was just a good - we had the NY Strip and the lamb chops. Very comfortable seating and you are not rushed. The drinks are also great - no unnecessary sugar. Definitely recommend!!

When one thinks of a hotel in a restaurant, one normally thinks the food will just be okay. At Bistro Z, that was not the case. The Short Rib pasta dish and the steak was very good. WE took our friend and his family here for lunch. they live in west chester and thought this would be a good place to meet. We had a Burger, Crabcake sandwich, Cuban sandwich, salmon, turkey BLT and two soups for lunch. Food quality was great, everything tasted good and wer well made. Nothing extremely imaginative or "new", basic and well done!

We had thought about Bistro Z ever since it was built (into the hotel). We kept seeing ads...soooooo...finally we went. Although, it's kind of a typical hotel restaurant, the food was really outstanding. We might go back for a drink on the outdoor patio when it opens. Too noisey for us....but a good bet if you're staying in the area.

We have been to Bistro Z many times since last summer. The food is consistently fresh and well-prepared. The bread is delicious (and addictive). We also greatly enjoyed our drinks (the wine I had was crisp, fruity, and perfect for my taste). Bistro Z is much more than a hotel restaurant. We look forward to coming back again soon.

Usually a very quiet place. Tonight a big crowd. Food and presentation still beautiful and delicious. But the waiter was overwhelmed once the crowd hit and the restaurant was not even full. They were understaffed even with the greeters pitching in. And we waited over 15 minutes before having to track someone down at the greeters/cashiers' desk (no one there) to pay our bill. That's never a good end after an excellent meal. Attention must be paid to patrons looking to leave. We will be back for another excellent meal.

We have eaten here many times. Over the last 6 months everything has become less enjoyable. We were there Fri and the hotel was having several functions, They obviously took almost the entire restaurants staff and used it for functions. We would have been better off at a diner. They have hit bottom. Never again.

Great food. We had sweet potato soup, salad, NY strip steak, orchiette, even side dishes were very tasty. Kind of stingy on the glass of wine though. Service was excellent, attentive but not hovering. We had a great time. We also had a coupon to lower the cost some.Would definitely go back again if we had a coupon. Without it, we'd have to think twice .Prices weren't outrageous, but were a bit high.

I was very surprised at the quality of the food here. Generally, hotel restaurants (unless a chain such as Ruth Cris) have poor to adequate food, but Bistro Z was a very pleasant surprise! We were a group of 8, and everyone's meal was very good - so good that two of our party made reservations that evening for Easter Sunday. The service was a bit slow, but they were all very pleasant. If I hadn't been with a large group that I hadn't seen in awhile, I may have left. I am hoping this was just a problem with the evening I was there.

This week, my wife and I have been to 5 lunches for Hudson Valley Restaurant week. This was by far the tastiest. Excellent soup, wonderful stuffed chicken, and a tasty/weird dessert. We looked at the regular menu and we were not overly impressed. Our very old Zagat's rated this place a 20. We have just eaten at several 24+ and this was clearly better. How much information can one glean from a single data point. I don't know, caveat emptor. We're going to return
