Had our first visit to Bistro Z and was pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. The food was very good. My only suggestion would be that the dining areas have better temperature control. On a cold evening the air conditioning was still on but was not needed. In any case, I plan to return to enjoy another meal!

Every time we go to Bistro Z, we enjoy our dining experience. Hotel restaurants can be hit or miss. Bistro Z is definitely a hit. The staff is welcoming and never makes you feel rushed. My spouse has greatly enjoyed the bar's variety of bourbon cocktails. Although I do not drink alcohol frequently, Bistro Z has my favorite white wine. The menu always has choices for different eaters (meat, chicken, fish, and vegetarian), so it is easy to go there with a group. When we ask questions about the menu, wait staff are able to easily answer and make recommendations. The quality of the food is terrific and the portions generous. Going out to eat can get expensive, so we appreciate that you get your money's worth at Bistro Z. It remains one of our favorite local restaurants.

I had a very nice & quiet birthday dinner here at Bistro Z. The ambiance was nice and cozy and the staff were VERY nice! The food was delish but the portions could've been a little bit bigger. But overall, I had a really nice time.

This was our second time dining at Bistro Z. We had tickets to a local show and this paired well with our schedule. We had enjoyed our first experience and I'm happy to say that Bistro Z did not disappoint on our second visit. Our meal was expertly prepared, and tastefully served. The service was attentive but not overbearing. The pace of the service was relaxed. We didn't feel rushed as some restaurants do. We will definitely come back to Bistro Z.

Bistro Z is in the lobby of the Doubletree Hotel. It is also the Hotel's breakfast and lunch diningroom. It is nothing much to look at, although not terrible. The food was surprisingly good as was the service. We were on a last minute trip to see a show at the Tarrytown Musichall and all the trendy restaurant were already booked. We saw a review of Bistro Z and decided to give it a try. Can't say we'd make a special trip to return, but it was a great find for our needs.

Bistro Z was an excellent venue for a large family gathering last weekend. The staff had no problem accommodating our reservation at the odd hour of 4PM and even asked if we'd prefer the lunch or dinner menu. The whole staff was extremely welcoming and too time to make everyone comfortable including my elderly mother. All of the dishes were well prepared and satisfying.

First impression when being greeted is a sign of what is to come. The hostess seemed like it was a bother to seat us. I think it might have been one other table besides us in restaurant when we got there at 1 pm. Menu was printed wrong, but nothing said, I ordered the corn chowder but when it came out it was completely something else, asked waitress and she checked and said no this is the soup of day menu wrong (she knew when she served it not what I ordered) I sent it back. Our sandwiches were very good . However I asked for another glass of water and it took sometime, waitress did not check on us once meal was served and took forever to get our check paid.

Four of us had dinner here on Sunday night. The main restaurant and outdoor space were closed so we ate in a small, dark room across from the bar with no windows. Not a great setting. When the bread was served, we requested butter and when it failed to appear, we asked again with similar results. We ordered an onion soup, which was excellent. For main dishes, two of us ordered pork chop (one), which was small and overcooked, salmon which was ordered rare but was also overcooked and a steak which was ordered medium rare and served well done. The service was adequate. What can I say. We won't be back.

We stayed at the Double tree Hilton and wanted to keep it simple dining at their restaurant. The food was excellent. Homemade chicken soup was delicious for my daughter. I had the burrata and chilean sea bass. Flavors were amazing, fish coked perfectly. Husband had crab cakes and Homemade orrechiete both excellent. Prices are extremely reasonable as is the wine list choices and prices. Desserts were also excellent, a homemade chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwich and apple cake topped off the dinner.

We had a Groupon for four and went with another couple. Basically they give you the dollar value of the deal in this case $200 so we can order whatever we want up to $200 and pay for anything over. This Groupon also comes with a bottle of wine. I like this method much better as it doesn't limit you to a menu the restaurant chooses for you giving you more options. The food was very good although my dish came with too many fingerling potatoes and not enough vegetable. The French Onion Soup is the best I ever had with the Gruyere cheese melted until crispy and the soup was perfect and not salty as many onion soups are. My only issue was the service was a little slow but that was minor.

We were sat in the outside garden, as requested, and then it went downhill. Menu didn't appear, nor did staff. Bread served, no butter, water requested with lemon, no lemon, food ordered, wait time was impossible . When asked for the check, took a very long time, then incorrect. When it was recalculated waiter disappeared. We finally took the check ourselves to the reception area, and paid there. We watched as out waiter looked around at our table, and possibly noticed we were gone. There is no way to recommend this restaurant on any level.

The food at Bistro z was good. However, this is the second time that my wife ordered the shrimp cocktail and the veins were lefts in the shrimp. The first time it happened(last year), the chef came out to say he was sorry and we got a new portion. This time we just got a new portion. Which leads me to believe that this happens often. After we complained about the meal, the service went downhill from there. There were times that we could not find our waiter to get more water/bread or dessert. What should have been at most a 75 minute meal took over 2 hours. They also seemed to be understaffed for a Saturday night.

Appetizers were excellent - we had the crab cakes and the beet salad. Dinner was just a good - we had the NY Strip and the lamb chops. Very comfortable seating and you are not rushed. The drinks are also great - no unnecessary sugar. Definitely recommend!!
