Parking Details: Bistro West offers both valet and self-parking. Self-parking is available in the private lot surrounding the restaurant and in the underground parking lot beneath West Inn & Suites, accessed through the driveway at the north end of the property. There is plenty of handicap parking directly in front of the restaurant. Valet parking stand is in front of West Steak and Seafood, 75 feet from the Bistro entrance.

"I loved the overall feel of the restaurant. It was romantic yet worked lovely with a group. The food was amazing. The flat iron steak was to die for. I love the idea of using your own locally grown fruit and vegetables. Friends suggested Bistro West and I am very happy they did. That is our new date night place to go."

"Four of us had a wonderful meal and were able to enjoy each others company as the noise level was such that we could easily carry on a conversation without having to yell at each other. We have been here before and will definitely return again in n the future.
The food was very well prepared and presented and the servings were very generous."

"What a great find! This casual restaurant next to the West Inn Suites in Carlsbad is a gem. Hubby and I started our meal with 1/2 salads hubby had the wedge and I had the mixed greens. Both were tasty. The hot fresh baked rolls that come with the salad are amazing!! Our entrees came out in a very timely manner, I ordered the halibut special.. it was deeelicious. My only issue with is was that there were a few very small bones still in the filet. I liked that substituting the rice for the potatoes was not a problem.

Hubby had a filet, and it was cooked perfectly and cut like butter. It was a very good quality steak and the peppercorn sauce was a nice compliment to the meat.

We did not have dessert, but we did order a cappucci"

"We were looking for a special place to celebrate Easter, and had hoped for a special menu for dinner, but it appears only brunch is celebrated here. Service was good and we were seated right away. I was not impressed with the chef special of halibut, with veggies and spinach. The veggies had no flavor, nor did the spinach. Considering what we paid for our meals, I did not find great value in the food."

"Wait staff wasn't as outstanding as on previous experiences, didn't pay attemtion to detail, forgot our deserts until we asked again about them, didn't refill water glasses until asked, felt a little rushed. Our previous experiences with this resteraunt have been with dinner, this time we had Sunday Brunch. Food was excellant as always."

"Bistro West is a Carlsbad Gem. The service is top notch and their "wine wall" is quite impressive. The menu has something for everyone from fresh fish to delicious salad entrees to hearty pot pies and meatloaf. I highly recommend it for a girls night out or a dinner for the whole family."

"The young lady that waited on us wasn't the best she stood at the station talking while we could of used drinks and bread. Your appatizers you should have more simple ones as we had a taste for some goodies before we ordered and finished the beers. Your salads we could over hear the people behind us saying that you should of had a six dollar house salad to go with the pastas."

"I am a vegetarian and ordered penne with vodka sauce. I received fettuccine with pink sauce that tasted as fishy as the original dish for which the pink sauce was made. It was totally bland. A side order of veggies came, which nobody ordered but I took them and they were also bland. My kids had pizza and the rest of my group was so tired they just ate their meals and didn't say a word. I would not come back."
