  • "Bistro VG is our go-to restaurant. The food is surpassed by the friendly, knowledgeable and caring service team. Your choice: eat at the bar/high-boy table and enjoy the atmosphere, or dine at the tables in front... you won't be disappointed with either choice. We will be back soon."

  • "I took my office after work and we were able to have a wonderful meal while discussing business. It was not so loud we couldn't hear ourselves think yet the ambience was so that we could relax and enjoy the meal."

  • "Bistro VG has always been one of our go-to places and it never lets us down. The servers are fantastic and knowledgeable, the ambience is my absolute favorite, and the food is solid with the bread being extra special. I wish they had gluten free bread, but watching my wife eat and enjoy it is worth the trip alone. Looking forward to our next visit..."

  • "Food - bouillabaisse & trout almondine - delicious. Dropping a chipotle pepper into the bouillabaisse was an inspired idea. Trout almondine (a tired old standard for so many places) was moist, succulent and delicious. On request, they cheerfully substituted sauteed cauliflower for the pureed parsnips normally accompanying the trout and the dish was lovely. Our server Cindy & the bar staff went above and beyond the call when we asked for a martini with anchovy stuffed olives (don't make that face: try it!) Their standard olives are stuffed with blue cheese, but they converted these by removing the blue cheese and stuffing them with the white anchovies they use in their caesar salads and steak tartare. Wonderful! Best martini ever!"

  • "Excellent service, excellent food. Our waiter sensed we had a lot of catching up to do and was unobtrusive, yet the service didn't suffer. Beautiful setting."

  • "First time for my wife and I. Wow, what a great place! Food was perfect. We had the crab cakes, scallops, white bean soap and gnocci. All was very good. Britney was our waitress and she was absolutly wonderful. Great recommendations and very attentive. Also, Tyler (I think that was his name) did a great job clearing the table, water, etc...give that guy a wait job, he would do great. Thanks again and we will definately be back."

  • "We enjoyed a nice dinner with three friends on a Sunday night. It was a little slow, due to the time change and being Sunday night. We were a table of five, and they gave us a choice of larger tables. The menu was quite varied, and quite fabulous. We all enjoyed our choices. Prices were very reasonable, the service was good. The music was too loud and they turned it down quickly on our request, and we able to enjoy the conversation at our table. We will go again. This is definitely a nicer restaurant in this area, and good for special occasions. It is not pretentious, and not over priced. A good value for a good meal!"

  • "Modern decor - white, cool and understated. Even on a Monday night this restaurant had a decent crowd. The crowd was well dressed, attentive to each other (not chatting on cell phones) and generally 30 or older. We often have a glass of wine at the bar but this evening, we made dinner reservation. Our server was attentive yet let us take our time deciding. I had the pear salad which was very good but needed a splash more dressing. My husband had the red & golden beet salad and it was perfect. For our entree, I had the mixed seafood bouillabaisse which was TERRIFIC - fresh fish, pearl couscous. Just a delight. My husband ordered the special - monk fish which was also terrific. This restaurant is find!"

  • "Bistro VG is the epitome of French dining from the ambiance of the decor to the delicious food to our server Cindy who made our evening an evening to remember. It is not often one finds a restaurant encompassing ambiance, delicious food and a server as attentive and personable as Cindy. Not only did Cindy make certain our every need was anticipated but also her suggestions for entrees, wine and dessert were impeccable. It was our 9 son who chose Bistro VG to celebrate his birthday as he had enjoyed lunch there recently. So it was lovely when the proprietress of Bistro VG stopped by the table to wish him a Happy Birthday! The appetizers are wonderful and the desserts are truly sinfully delicious but then every morsel we ate was delicious."

  • "The Mussels were a superb appetizer. Enjoyed an entree of sea scallops with rock shrimp risotto, wild mushrooms, peppercorn sauce and lobster oil and it was delicious. The decor is very chic and gives an overall fun vibe to this restuarant outside of Atlanta."

  • "Our dining experience was good. As far as menu selection we like Vinnys on Windward so much better. Oyster appetizers were delicious. Our entrees were fair. Dessert was great. For the future I think we'll stick with Vinny's."

  • "We've been to VG several times before -- food is always excellent. Saturday night it was PACKED and WAY, WAY too noisy. Couldn't hear person next to me. Service was very poor -- had to ask twice for everything. .....had to wait a very long time between courses. We were celebrating a birthday -- made that clear when I called the day before. They claimed to note it on our reservation and told us we'd get a champagne cocktail to start. When we tot there we had to ask for it, and waiter brought it, he didn't bring one for birthday girl -- said she already had a drink!! My husband said he won't go back, and it will be a long time before I return. Very disappointed in a restaurant we used to enjoy."

  • "Although the menu leans toward French there are ribs and MacBook cheese on the menu. Steak came out well done instead of medium rare but the staff quickly rectified their mistake. The table was extremely uncomfortable and wobbly. The decor and space are lovely. The dishes came out good but lacked luster in both presentation and taste. My braised ribs were very greasy and bland and although it calls for spicy mac n cheese there was no spice or cheesy creaminess. The desserts were subpar. We had good service and appetizers.."

  • "Food was great so were the drinks. I had a pear pashmina recommended by the staff, Best cocktail I have ever had. Overall experience was good but a little on the noisy said felt like I had to yell at my date. However noise level went down after 9.30p with less groups dinning"

  • "On this occasion we requested a favorite waiter as we were dining with new friends. Unfortunately, due to illness the waiter was not there. They offered to change the date ( we were having dinner that nite) or would another waiter be ok. We stated that we wanted someone who could take good care of us. We got a new waiter, and while pleasant, the service was extremely slow. When they brought the check over, it was not our check. The fries were greasy with little Parmesan on them. The gnocchi were overcooked, and burnt on the underside and not very tasty. The lettuce in the Caesar salad was wilted, not crisp, and the salmon was tasteless and onions not caramelized. One of our guests ate one bite of the short ribs We were quite disappointed."

  • "We dined for a birthday dinner this past weekend. The service was outstanding. We could tell our waitress did not think we had chosen a good bottle of wine. So, she brought us a sample of the one we ordered as well as an alternate one in the exact same price range. She was right - hers was better. All of the attendees enjoyed our dinners and desert. We will definietly be back."

  • "Had dinner here at the request of the honoree (who had dined here before) and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Our waiter, Bill, was absolutely outstanding. We started with cocktails, then a cheese/meat appetizer board, and then our entrees. We had the monkfish, beef short ribs, scallops, and skatefish dinners and all were well-prepared, beautifully presented, and delicious. The staff brought a special birthday dessert, along with champagne toast for everyone. Highly recommend Bistro VG!"

  • "We always wanted to go to Van Gogh's when we were living closer to that area, but found it difficult to get reservations. After visiting Bistro VG, we can see why. It was one of the best dining experiences we have had in Atlanta. The menu was varied and interesting with many tempting choices. Dishes did not seem dated, or overthought, just wonderful harmonious pairings of complementary flavors and interesting combinations. Well done."

  • "We often visit Bistro VG on special occasions. We have always been impressed with the quality of the food and this visit was no exception! We selected the lamb chops and crab cakes and both were outstanding - both in taste and in presentation. The service was particularly remarkable as our service team, led by Erica, was always there when they were needed but never hovering. Thanks again to Bistro VG and their employees for another wonderful experience!"

  • "The restaurant is lovely, and the ambience is very nice. I ordered the scallops and they were divine. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable and he did a great job of taking care of our party of six."

  • "The service was fantastic!!!!! Short ribs and all veggies we ordered were great. Ravioli app also very good--great sauce. The draught beer was hot--not warm- hot! And the wine list was incorrect--they listed a wine but they had the winery's less expsnsive label instead. Finally the chicken livers were raw."

The Segewick Group knows how to create dishes and present and serve them in a manner that have you returning time and time again. If you want to treate4 your palate, visit VG's."
