I have been here many times and never been disappointed. The ambiance is wonderful, as is the food and service. Tommy was our server and did a fantastic job being attentive, accommodating, and fun for our large group. I enjoy that bistro VG is perfect for a romantic date, but can also accommodate groups well. Love the crab cakes here (lots of crab), as well as Tuna Tartar, the snapper (when they have it), the short rib, and the spicy Mac and cheese is my favorite Mac of all time!

  • Fun birthday lunch place

We enjoyed a girls lunch to celebrate birthdays here. The decor is chic but cozy and very comfortable, like being in someone's well-decorated home. The lunch menu is just the right size - plenty of options but not overwhelming. 4 of the 5 of us ordered the spinach salad with seared scallops and shrimp and it was outstanding - blackberries, mango, lightly fried goat cheese, and a dried cherry balsamic dressing. I'd go back just for that salad. Our server gave us just the right amount of friendly and professional attention. This is a neighborhood staple that is fun to rediscover for a nice meal when you don't want to drive too far.

The food was delectable and the service was impeccable! I don't think you can go wrong with their menu, as there is something for everyone! The Artic Char was different, but simply amazing! My husband ordered a Filet and it was cooked to perfection. Both had a beautiful presentation. If you have not already tried VG, you must!

We recently celelbrated two birthdays at Van Gogh's. The staff was attentitve and observant. The food was deliciouusly prepared and was presented beautifully. Everryone was verry impressed with the food and the overall experience. Of course it was a birthday so we had the Beignet's FIRST!

I took a friend to lunch recently for her birthday and could not have been a happier camper. From the moment I stepped into the restaurant I loved it. Purely happentance that the weekend before another friend's daughter held her wedding here and I could see why. The rooms are almost ethereal, the food was wonderful and our waiter was devoted to us! All in all a very pleasant experience and I would definitely go back.

I have been a long time VG diner (18 years I believe.) I had lunch there this week, our food was not good. I ordered the trout which said it came with a parsnip puree, it was mashed potatoes...over mashed at that! I questioned it with our waiter, who wandered off only to wander back and say the chef was on the phone. I sent him back, he took his sweet time. Returned to tell me that it was parsnip and I obviously don't know what parsnips are! The restaurant was almost empty, our food was poorly cooked and service was very slow and sloppy. There are too many new restaurants opening in the Alpharetta, Roswell area for me to consider returning here for lunch.

From the moment we were seated near the bar, a cold glass of water was poured for us and the bottle was left at the table. The server was very helpful in choosing a cocktail and the hostess sat the four of us at a beautiful table even though the other couple was late in arriving. The atmosphere is lovely, the food was served hot and was delicious, and the service was perfectly timed. Such an enjoyable place to spend an evening!

This hidden gem provided the perfect setting for a wonderful evening. This high-end bistro is in an unassuming location, but don't be fooled. The food (with a French flair) is delicious. My husband had scallops which were outstanding. I had the halibut special which melted in my mouth. The desserts are absolutely sinful- just think banana chocolate bread pudding. Our server, Kaitlyn, was friendly, attentive, and helpful in making suggestions. We would definitely recommend this restaurant and will definitely return.

One of the few restaurants where every course is a true delight. Also has an upscale eclectic setting that we love. It has been a little while since we last dined at Bistro VG and we noticed a very new and fresh menu which would be great for late night dining or special occasions. My wife and I would love to go back just for cocktails and appetizers. The menu provides lots of great options for special occasions or just a late night evening.

This restaurant bills itself as "French, tapas." That's odd. But the menu IS varied, the wine list a cut above, and the prices reasonable. My biggest complaint is the server who continued throughout the meal to inquire about our experience, intruding in our conversation to be reassured. Such neediness says something about the individual and the restaurant itself. Believe me, everything is better than OK.
