  • "We love Bistro Vendome for any occasion but especially with good friends. The food, atmosphere, and service is always top notch."

  • "Excellent bourbon cocktail followed by delicious scallops, delivered by professional and pleasant staff."

  • "Our food was not very good. The steak was very tough and tasteless. The taragon dressing on the salad was not good at all. The snails were very average. The service was very good, but the food is more than over rated and you really need to pass eating at this restaurant."

  • "This is the Bistro that ought to exist in Paris on every street corner. While I have tried to find even one over there, I never have. So now I know that I can get a good casual French Bistro right on Larimer Street in Denver."

  • "Wanted a special place to celebrate my sister-in-laws 25th wedding anniversary and Bistro Vendome was perfect. They took such good care of us and the food and ambience was lovely. They even treated us to a free dessert with a candle and a card with two cards for free items on our next visit. I can't wait to go again!"

  • "I have enjoyed dining at Bistro Vendome for Brunch and dinner. The restaurant is close to the theater, parking is easy, and the food exceptionally prepared. The mussels are delicious, the escargot are the best I have ever enjoyed. The outdoor garden area is an oasis, and the service outside is equally as fabulous as sitting indoors."

  • "The food is always exceptional. The service was lacking and very slow. Our waitress didn't seem to have a sense of urgency. Wine, food, and energy was wonderful!"

  • "My wife and I love Bistro, this is our second visit for our anniversary and it was great. The food is amazing, the staff is attentive and helpful without being intrusive."

  • "A nice change from the ordinary restaurant. Good location with a nice ambience. Unique French cuisine. A nice selection of wines and beers."

  • "This was our second trip to Bistro Vendome and enjoyed it just as much as the first time. The first time we went was for our engagement dinner and the staff did a great job to make us feel very special. This time around the service did feel a little slower, but in France a dining experience isn't supposed to be just about eating and leaving. It's supposed to be about enjoying each course and taking time to socialize with your company. My fiance enjoyed our time together and the food was absolutely amazing! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a very romantic night out together."

  • "It's been about 5years since I last ate here. The service was slow, food bland. Bearnaise with steak fries was actually bad. Atmosphere was acceptable. I think they're resting on their laurels. There are a lot of better choices in Denver at this time."

  • "This was my second time here. The first was in the summer time when we sat outside and the ambience and everything was great. Beautiful outdoor dining area feels like you are in Paris. The inside dining room is small but cozy. The service was very good but slow at times when it is busy. I will say the food is a 10 out of 10, absolutely outstanding. Very reasonably priced too almost everything in the 20s with the feel of a 5 star priced restaurant. What a great spot!"

  • "While on business in Denver tried out this French Restaurant in vibrant Larimer Square. Very busy for a Sunday. I had perfectly cooked St. Jacques Nicoise which was a nice twist on traditional sea scallops. Waitress was extremely knowledgable about the wine list. There were some service lapses which I think was due to the packed house. Servers knowledgable with just the right touch of friendliness. It was a wonderful dining experience."

  • "We've been dining here for breakfast/brunch, lunch and dinner since the beginning of the restaurant's days, and it is so nice to have the Bistro remain a top spot for meeting friends and family, always consistently good food, and always surprises along with continued items we enjoy. We enjoyed everything from charcuterie of the day, through mussels, salads, trout, scallops, and the charming lavender macaroons. Honestly, no other restaurant in Denver stays as true to the overall theme of the French cuisine and also keeps the "same" menu fresh and vibrant. We are never disappointed, always enchanted, and can't wait to come back again. carrot amuse bouche was a special taste treat."

  • "The location itself and the decor are reason enough to go to Bistro Vendome. We absolutely loved it, it is very intimate and yet bustling with the noise of happy conversations. The food was not "fusion" French, but real, typical French food. We had an amazing experience and I highly recommend it."

  • "I was so impressed by this restaurant! The food was great and reasonably priced. I had the duck. The best. My husband had the lamb. Delish! The bartender was friendly and informarative while we waited. We will return."

  • "Having lived and traveled extensively in France, I miss the restaurant scene there. Bistro Vendôme captures the look and feel of a real French café, and the food is spot-on. Try the sweetbreads and the duck confit, absolutely Indulge in dessert, but treat yourself and watch them prepare you an Absinthe. C'etait parfait!"

  • "We celebrated our anniversary at Bistro Vendome and loved every minute of it. The food, all of it, was amazing. Our server was terrific and offered spot on pairing suggestions for wine and after-dinner drinks, and the entire staff was friendly and personable. We will definitely be back as often as possible - especially once it warms enough to sit outside in the little courtyard."

  • "We had a great meal before a Sunday Evening show at the Performing Arts Center. The cheese plate was great. The cherry gelee was the perfect accompaniment. We all enjoyed the simple salad before our entries. We had the steak and frets. The fries were amazing, the are seasoned with fresh herbs, garlic, and I think honey (or something slightly sweet). The pumpkin risotto croquette with kale salad with roasted chestnuts. Loved the touch of chestnuts. They do not rush you and the service is great."

  • "It's amazing in the world today that a top restaurant refuses to provide gluten-free bread. The United States is far behind the rest of the world and this bistro is the most retro in the US. I won't be back."

  • "The food is always not notch in this bistro setting. There is also always something new to try and be excited about. I is one of our favorite stops for dinner before an opera or theater."

  • "Setting a reservation was absolutely pointless. We were asked to wait a half hour past our original reservation time. While the hostess was somewhat rude and unprofessional, the service improved once we were seated. Dinner itself was wonderful and would still highly recommend the restaurant."

  • "Ate dinner for first time this past weekend. Food was of excellent quality. I ordered the seafood special and it was just too small. THe waitress stated it was a 5oz piece of bass, but two nugget pieces of bass does not 5oz make. I'm quite the foodie so I know that portion does not make a dish, but this dish seriously was too small and very disappointing. Considering it was the last portion of the seafood special, I am suspicious I essentially received the scrap leftover.. Not cool.. A restaurant of that stature should know better…. not coming back."

  • "My husband and I had dinner here before we went to a show at the Buell Theater. It was a Friday night and I had just made the reservation that afternoon. When we got to Bistro Vendome, it was quite crowded. A large group walked in right in front of us and then headed to the bar. The hostess saw our reservations and told us it would be just a few minutes while they got our table ready. We went into the bar to get a glass of wine while we waited and the large group was taking up the entire bar; however, the bartender was still very friendly and took care of us. Our table was ready shortly after and we had a delicious meal and great service. Only complaint- drinks from the bar took awhile due to the large crowd in there."

  • "Bistro Vendome is my new favorite dining spot for special occasions and pre-concert or theatre indulgence. The menu is perfect for francophiles and other connaisseurs of excellent, beautifully presented meals. A fresh baguette and herb butter is always a precursor to the meal--delicious when complemented by a good French wine. Diners are presented with a complimentary taste of a seasonal soup before the entree is brought out. The pommes frites (French fries) are the genuine article. I have a particular fondness for the scallops or the salmon as an entree-- always perfectly cooked and delicious. On the several occasions I have dined here, I have been tempted by the creme brulee and not disappointed by my decision to succumb."

  • "Went here for date night -- I heard this place was top notch for french. We arrived and were seated immediately. The hostess poured our water and told us our waitress would be by in a few minutes. Unfortunately, we didn't see our waiter for about 20-25 minutes. When he did arrive, he was apologetic and took our drink order (wine and a cocktail). But... then we didn't see him again for about another half hour. We didn't get to place our food order for at least 50-60 minutes from the time we arrived. We weren't in that big of a rush, so it wasn't a super inconvenience though. Anyways, the food was awesome. We had the steak tartare which was great, and the steak frites (comes with champagne fries!)"

  • "This is one of my favorite restaurants in Denver. The food is always tasty and the service attentive. The servers are very cognizant of any after dinner plans you may have. I highly recommend this for any pre-theater dinner."

  • "We had an exceptional meal at Vendome - and all 4 members of our party thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Save room for dessert- in true French form, it is fabulous!"

  • "What used to be the Russian Tea Room transformed into a quaint authentic French bistro. We ate mussles, crepes, scallops and trout after a Sunday matinee with great wine and impecsble service. Incredible desserts as well...can't wait to retur n <3"

  • "Bistro Vendome didn't disappoint for my birthday brunch. Everything was delicious - from the French pastries we started with (apple was my favorite), to my Croque Vendome. I recommend getting it with the optional fried egg. Delicious! The only thing that I think they could work on was the service. Our server was very awkward. She would come to our table and just look at us for awhile and not speak. And another server that dropped off our pastries barely spoke either. But other than that, everything was wonderful!"

  • "This is a perfect spot for pre theater and pre symphony dining. We have been there 3 times in the past month because it is so special. There is a short walk to the theater complex. The staff is very tuned in to getting us in and out in order to make our shows. The ambience is so welcoming. On Tuesday nights, the restaurant is doing a recipe from a cookbook and supplies the recipe for you to take home. We had mussels in a remarkable broth, about as special as it could be. We asked for spoons to finish the broth. If you like chicken, and I do, try theirs for a succulent surprise."

  • "Walking distance for downtown meetings. My second visit, and not disappointing. I've lived in France, and this is very close to walking into a cozy bistro in many French cities. The attention to wine is well beyond the American average, and the flavors authentic. The details (like the bread and butter!) are well done, and the preparation of the dishes brings out the flavors. Perhaps because I was hungry and the taste so good, I wished for larger portions. Maybe that could be an option? How many places in the US offer Green Chartreuse as an after dinner drink? Wonderful !"
