Bistro VendomeBest meal in LoDoBut Rioja was also great. Was surprised to find they are "sister" restaurants. Whoever is running that show is doing a good job. Between these two and The Cru wine bar, I am not sure you need to leave Larimer. Except to walk up to Snooze (at 22nd st) for breakfast.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMLeft very fullWe went thinking they had a muscle and beer special but they didn't have that so we did the 52.80 Tuesday special and it was lovely- so much food we couldn't finish it all. We had the muscles, crepe, trout, gnocchi, and ended with the chocolate dessert. I only wish they had a couple of beers on tap.6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, wonderful ambienceWe dined with friends at Bistro Vendome twice in the last month and both time had a fabulous experience. The wait staff are knowledgeable and accommodating, the food is exceptionally well prepared and delicious, and the ambience in the outdoor courtyard is enchanting.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMmy only complaint was lamb...lstmy only complaint was lamb...lst plate was tough and gristly. I could not cut 3 or 4 or 5 pieces. It was reserved...smaller pieces and much better. Only other problem was my medium rare-I specified pink and both times it came very rare for lamb6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGorgeous evening! Its not often that I find myself excited about a dinning experience. I have had the opportunity to dine at some of the worlds most adventurous restaurants. One of my favorite restaurants, The French Laundry in Yountville, California holds a special place in my heart. However, my first dinner as husband to my beautiful wife last thursday at Bistro Vendome was beyond flawless; it was perfection executed seamlessly. Our server Ian was terrific. Ian took the time to explain what dishes he enjoyed and paced the night wonderfully without being intrusive. We couldnt have asked for a more beautiful first dinner as a married couple. Thank you Ian and everyone at Bistro Vendome for an amazing evening!6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMC'est Magnifique!Denver is a city with so many fantastic restaurants that it was nearly impossible to find one we could call "our favorite"... until we went to Bistro Vendome. We went to Paris a few years ago and have searched everywhere for some place to get that perfect bread that Parisian boulangeries are known for: crunchy on the outside but warm and soft on the inside. Much to our surprise and delight, the meal started with a small loaf and it was perfect. The wine list has something for every taste. We each got the Steak Frite for our entree. The steak was tender and moist with a great flavor. The fries are fantastic with the rosemary, lemon, and truffle oil seasoning. Unfortunately, we had no room left for dessert (though the menu was tempting).6/5/2013 12:00:00 AManniversary dinnerDenver has a number of nice French restaurants. This time, (having never been there, but reading good local dining reviews) we chose to go to Bistro Vendome on our wedding anniversary, hoping it would bring back pleasant memories of Paris. It did; it was a cozy, pleasant experience. We look forward to dining there more often. Only one less than stellar observation: the menu, while good, could have been more extensive. The wine selection was quite ample, and the service was knowledgable, professional, and unobtrusive.6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMBest dinner in 20 years. Seriously. In the early 90's I had the opportunity to dine at Biba's in Boston - then one had to make a reservation three months in advance. That experience stood out all this time as the best meal I'd ever had - until Bistro Vendome the other night while visiting Denver. A now departed dear friend of mine, Jerry Bracey, used to write reviews of restaurants around the country for the Washington Post and other periodicals. I think he would have been quite pleased with the Bistro's efforts. I was awed. The price, I might note, was half what I paid 20 years ago at Biba's. Superb offering at a most reasonable fee.6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food! The mussels appetizer was delicious! I wanted to drink the broth and order another as an entrée!6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGirls brunchAfter my boyfriend took me here for dinner once, I made plans immediately for my mom, grandma and I to return for brunch! This place is the cutest little hide-a-way! You must sit on the patio, you literally feel as though you are in a French bistro! Delicious good, lovely lattes and friendly staff. Plan for a nice, relaxed meal - the ambience pulls you in and before you know it you've been at brunch for three hours! So fun! Enjoy!6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGraduation DinnerI went to Bistro Vendome for a graduation dinner. I was with my boyfriend, my grandparents and parents. We had great and friendly service not to mention she was very knowledgable about the wine list and the menu. Since we were a big group we sat inside which was lively and had a very romantic feel. The patio also looked very nice. The good was delicious and well portioned. At the end of the night I revived a card from all if the staff congratulating me on my accomplishments. This is the perfect place for fine dining and great service.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMTerrific late lunch at BistroTerrific late lunch at Bistro Vendome. We come to this restaurant each time we're in Denver and we are never disappointed. This time we took relatives who live in Denver and have never been there! They loved it and will return!
Terrific rose on the wine list - and the croquet monsieur rivals France!6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic all around!Been here many times and everything about it has been phenomenal. Highly recommend.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMSpecial Anniversary DinnerThe wait staff was extremely attentive and made our anniversary night very special. Food was delicious and the atmosphere was lovely.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food as usualThe food was great as usual. I was glad the scallops went back to the savory versus the sweet.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent top end bistroBistro Vendome defines high end bistro. Great food, terrific outdoor setting, top flight service and wine.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMA Trip to France w/o Leaving DenverDelicious food, reasonable prices, and nice ambiance. Get a seat on the garden patio if you can--and the weather is nice enough.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMFavorite Brunch SiteBefore the matinee at the Denver Center we always have brunch at the Bistro. It is a big part of avery enjoyable outing.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Brunch! We had an awesome brunch at Bistro Vendome recently and will definitely be back. The food was over the top excellent that we had and our martinis were delish! The outdoor seating is very cozy on a nice day.
The only two complaints that I had is they were already out of their Crepe Du Jour at noon and had no crepe option at all. The male waiter we had was less than friendly and I had to ask him to smile. Luckily we had a very friendly female waitress that was backing him up.
Overall, great experience and we will be back!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMA Piece Of EuropeThank you for bringing a piece of Europe to Denver!! I felt like I stepped into France with this amazing gem of a resturant!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Anniversary Dinner Ever!We were married in Paris so we decided Bistro Vendome would be perfect for our first anniversary dinner. The ambience and decor was just like being back in France! Our waitress was great and so attentive and kind enough to give us a free dessert for our anniversary. It was a perfect experience and we will be back so many times!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMimagine you're in ParisWe had been wanting to try Bistro Vendome for awhile so we made plans to have a birthday dinner there and were not disappointed. The atmosphere was lovely. The menu was creative, within the abilities of the chief and executed with artistry. The service was very personable. It was never too much and left us feeling very comfortable. If you're going, and want to sit in the courtyard, here's a tip--make your reservation for just when the theatre crowd is leaving as the restaurant does not take specifications for a courtyard table--it's just based on availability at the time.
We will definitely be back.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMgood for datenightMy wife and I went out here for our first night in the city for a weekend away and liked it. It was not overly amazing but it was very nice. The food is small plate style but full of flavour. Make sure you are aware of the style of plating before you walk in, watch Food Network lol. But the food is great and it gives the feel of being in a bistro with a garden in the back that you forget w here you are and can almost see the yourself in Paris.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat wine, good food, beautifulGreat wine, good food, beautiful patio in a courtyard, and the perfect atmosphere for conversation5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous!Even my incredibly fussy husband was pleased by every aspect of our celebration.
God made ingredients for the chefs at Bistro Vendome to prepare, and wouldn't be disappointed . Exceptional flavors with unexpected, but not too weird, combinations. Perfect service. Try the scallops or the gnocchi. Perfect French martini.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMAnniversary CelebrationWe went to Bistro Vendome to celebrate our anniversary, though they initially did not know why we were there. We arrived early for our reservation and they were able to seat us right away. Our server, Rick, guided us through the menu and we were not disappointed. They comped our dessert, then we received a Congratulations card signed by the staff that included cards for a free dessert and free glass of wine at our next visit. We will definitely go back!5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely little cafe hiddenLovely little cafe hidden in the middle of Larimer square. The food was prepared perfectly and with beautiful presentation. One caution though, is that the portions are somewhat small so beware if you are dining with a very hungry young man as I was! The serving team on the whole is very attentive without being obnoxious. We very much enjoyed our meal.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMAs always Jen nails it!Huge fan of all the Jennifer Jasinki joints, but Bistro Vendome is SUCH a treat. The patio, the service, the escagot, the reasonably priced French wines, the food, oh the food, the decor....you feel as if you are in a Parisian cafe. The patio is hands down one of the best in Denver -- not on the noisy, stinky street.5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMDining at Bistro VendomeMy experience at Bistro Vendome was excellent. We sat outside in the lovely garden and enjoyed the ambience of a garden atmosphere in the middle of the City. The service was very good. Attentive servers who knew the menu and could recommend good selections. We were both happy with the Tuesday price fix selections (although most came at additional charges). We ordered a bottle of wine which was good, but not the selection we had wanted and the waiter was able to correct that without a problem. The dessert was wonderful. A very nice evening. I would recommend Bistro Vendome especially for outdoor dining.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect celebration!I was celebrating my graduation and they were so thoughtful--made me feel like a queen!5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMlove this place!I love Bistro Vendome it is always good will keep going back!!!5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Brunch I've ever hadThis was truly amazing - each dish was actually so beautifully plated that I had to take a picture of it first! And they tasted even better than they looked, if you can believe it. I started with the Salade Campagnarde and the house-made bacon was perfect. But calling what it was topped with a "fried egg" doesn't even come close to doing it justice. This was an egg that Fernand Point would have been proud of! I kid you not, this could have come out of his kitchen.
Then on to the main course Porc Braisé et Epinards Crémés. This was simply the most incredibly Eggs Benedict ever - using pulled pork instead of ham is sheer genius!
Another of Jen's Jems! Beth Gruitch is shining too!5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat hidden spotAfter booking the reservation and seeing the address I couldnt picture the location, after walking to the address it is tucked away a bit and the resaurant is beautiful, the food was delicious - the only small problem was the attentiveness of the waitstaff, it was Saturday so I understand but if you have a table of 6 obiously done with their dinner - please bring the check out or at least ask. Great place5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of my favorites! As always enjoy all elements of this restaurant. Open table worked out great for my reservation.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMA wonderful new findNever knew it was there until OpenTable. Very glad we found it!5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMAuthentic FrenchI enjoyed everything about this restaurant. The food, wine and coffee were wonderful!
The staff is very friendly and efficient. I also thought that the prices were very
reasonable. Would love to go back there on my next trip to Denver.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of the best in DenverI can't remember the last time I had such a wonderful meal! I wanted to go back again the next day and repeat it - can't wait to go again.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Mother's Day bunch!Great Mother's Day bunch! I took my mother there for brunch on Mother's Day, and we had a lovely time!
Adam took excellent care of us. We enjoyed the ambiance and the food immensely!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMServer was great and had goodServer was great and had good food and drink recommendations. However, the host was unhelpful as he gave away our table that was reserved to a walk-up party as we waited for him to find a highchair. Then, we had to wait another half hour for a table to open up.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways GreatWe eat at the restaurant before every play we attend. The service is always excellent as well as the food. The mussels were as large as we have seen them, and the fries always delicious. Always a wonderful dinning experience that should not be missed.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMA Special TreatThe patio is lovely, the service was perfect- attentive but certainly not overbearing. The brunch menu was a nice selection with variety and really interesting dishes. The French pastries were unbelievable! Entrees were delicious.
This is one of those memorable meals.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAnniversaryThis was the second anniversary we have eaten at Bistro Vendome and each experience was to shelf. The wait staff were all very friendly and the service was excellent. We had the Duck and it was outstanding. The recommended wine was perfect for our meal and we recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves French Cuisine and a very lovely evening out.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Scallops ever!A hidden gem with the best scallops and great wine! First of all, the outdoor garden is beauty and makes you feel like you are in France. Our server was really knowledgeable about wine and we were really satisfied with the two bottles of wine we ended up getting. We ordered the duck leg confit, pan-seared scallops, steak and halibut. Everything was cooked perfectly and we had a great time. The mussels, appetizer, was fresh and I would say the best mussels I've had in Denver. The scallop was my favorite because it was so perfect that it melts in my mouth. I thought Linger's scallop was perfect but this is better. I would definitely come back and I would love to try their brunch menu on a weekend afternoon.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMNot enough of a good thingBistro Vendome is excellent. It's been a while since we'd been, and I wanted to treat my wife to a special Mother's Day Brunch. This was just the right place. Food was even better than we remembered it - just wasn't enough. The French Toast is out of this world.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMCrowded, good food & atmosphereNot much room at our table but great ambience, good food (best fries ever) and good wine list.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMA rare treasureBistro Vendome continues to be my favorite restaurant in Denver. It feels like you've walked in to a French upscale café. The food, service and ambiance is extraordinary.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat ambience, deliciousGreat ambience, delicious meal, excellent service, it was a delight5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMNever disappointed at theNever disappointed at the Bistro Vendome, consistant good food, wine and service.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMNeed Vendome frequent-flyer cardI need a frequent-flyer card for brunch at Vendome. Just too nice to sip a French 75 on the patio and enjoying lovely Colorado days.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was one of the most excellentThis was one of the most excellent dining experiences I have ever had! The food was amazing, but the impeccable service took the night over the top! The server we had was very knowledgeable of the menu and had great recommendations. Our appetizers, meals, wine, and dessert just kept getting better--I don't think I could even choose a favorite thing that I ate. Well worth the money and a well deserved five-stars for overall experience!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AM
