A word from Bistro Turkuaz
Join us at Bistro Turkuaz for an evening of authentic Turkish food!

From its roots in Central Asia, the Turkish cuisine became rich and varied, a reflection of the journey to Asia Minor and the great expanse of the Ottoman Empire. At our bistro, you will experience a flavorful culinary tradition with elements of Greek, Persian, and Middle Eastern dishes.

Bistro Turkuaz also tells the story of a valuable Persian gem that was traded in the bazaars of Turkey in the 16th Century and then sold to Europeans by Venetian merchants. The French mistakenly named this blue-green gem turquoise, meaning Turkish.

We invite you to share the colorful history and flavors of Turkish food with your friends and family in the warm atmosphere of the Bistro Turkuaz.

I haven't been able to stop talking about this place for days - everything about it was wonderful. The food was all delicious - my wife and I cleaned every plate that came to the table from appetizers through to desert, all paired with fantastic Turkish wines. The experience is made better by how intimate the space is. I don't think it seats more than 30 people, and it was full through dinner service - so best to make a reservation. We'll be heading back there for sure.

Food is good, nicely spiced, though a little over priced in my opinion. The amount of pita you get with the turkuaz plate is sad though, always have to ask for more (at $1 each time). Friendly staff. Place is pretty small, would not recommend for a large group, but it makes it nice and cozy.

My friend and I had a great time at Turkuaz recently. She ordered the eggplant appetizer, while I treated myself to their Turkuaz Special. Would highly recommend both! We wrapped it up with sutlaç (rice pudding) and baklava.

Took my wife here for our anniversary.Great quant cafe. Fantastic old family recipe Turkish meals. Having been to Turkey many times to visit family I felt like I stepped off the plane to Izmir. The staff is very attentive and a delight. Make sure you drive yourself or have something arranged. Getting a taxi is near impossible.

We love this place. The food, the friendly service and the ambiance are all terrific. We have been several times and chose it this year for our anniversary dinner. I particularly like their lamb dishes and we both love the Turkuaz Platter for an appetizer. Their honeyless baklava is the only baklava I eat. Others are too sticky sweet.

The food was delicious -- we had fish and the "pasta" dish. We also ordered the beets and baklava, both of which were very good. It was a little pricey for what we ordered. The wait staff was nice, and the restaurant was cozy, although the door constantly opening made it cold.

The food is authentically Turkish and tasty as we know from travels there. Portions are petite though, and rather high priced for the quantity composition and accompanying ambience. The dining room is also extremely compact and very noisy when full. One needs to raise their voice almost to a shout to be heard across the table at such times. On cold evenings, diners near the front will be blasted by cold drafts when people enter or depart the restaurant, which is frequently.

I had the shrimp entree which is really a kind of slightly spicy soup. Delicious with pita and comes w/a salad. My partner ordered lamb kofta. We both said we would order it again. For dessert we recommend both the rice pudding and the baklava. Small restaurant so reservations might be in order, although only about 4 tables were occupied on the weeknight we were there. So now we have found 2 exceptional restaurants in the same general area thanks to Open Table: Turkuaz and A la bon franquette.

The food was absolutely delicious and the service was lovely. Very inviting and warm place. The owner came over and talked with us about Turkey (we desire to visit!) and offered to give us guidance when we're ready to visit. Wine list is very modest. If you're really into wine, you may wish to bring your own, though the limited selection available was decent. We will definitely return!

The only negative was the kibbeh appetizer. It was obviously microwaved, warm on the inside, cold on the outside. In a restaurant as expensive as this, food should be prepared fresh. Otherwise, the service was good and the entrees full of flavor.

I really enjoyed the intimate and inviting atmosphere -- I was lucky enough to get the front table in the sun. My friend was late so I was at the table a long time before I ordered -=- never felt rushed and the server was great throughout. The food is healthy and tasty. The serice is spotty at best. And there is some what of an attitude or a my way or the highway vibe going on here. We came in one evening to see a very large take order being made up to go. And when we gotour orders we notice that we had been shorte on some items (missing all together)the portins we did get were much smaller. And there was no ajustment offered. I was going to write them off my list but my wife talked me into returning only to find they had one serving of soup. The thing that I was looking forward to the most. Spotty service is a killer for me we'll wait a while before we return. Maybe they will have their act together in six or seven months.
