This is a consistently good spot in an otherwise restaurant desert. It is not a gourmet restaurant but they know how to serve good fresh food well . The menu is not huge but is varied and has choices for most tastes. the wine list is quite adequate for the menu. I have used this place for both lunch and dinner and it has never let me down.

Busy place on a Friday night, had to wait for a table. While waiting, I made our open table reservation, and we sat at the bar. When we sat down it did not take too long before we placed our order. And when the food (the salmon, the orecchiette, the kale, the green salad) came it was delicious...except for the mushrooms which had no salt. The molten chocolate cake was amazing!

I found the acoustics to be great, people held casual converations without voices carrying across the room so you felt ok to speak freely which was exactly what I like. Some seating looked like it could be better than other tables, but I enjoyed my experience. I think our waiter was new or in training, there was a little bit of a wait after we sat down before somsone came to order drinks and initially, but then after that the service was pretty good. All the food was very good, the hanger steak entree was cooked perfectly and its bourbon glaze/sauce was really nice. I would of personally preferred maybe a garlic mashed potato or something esle as a side than the fingerling/potato wedges, but they were very good too.

the scallops were fabulous. the service how ever was subpar. never checked on our food, nor asked if we wanted another drink. i had to ask the bus boys and hostess. the phone would ring until they hung up because the hostess was hardly at her station. a couple next to us had to speak with the manager because the girls turkey burger was too pink for her tastes. although turkey meat is known to do that. instead of apologizing and getting her something different, the manager argued with her stating she saw it cooked at the right temperature etc. then came back arguing again. absolutely horrid service. the steak was meh. was expecting more.

We saw that they had a special all heirloom tomato menu, with all courses featuring tomatoes. We took all 5 courses and it was excellent - except that the tomato sorbet scheduled for dessert was not available as the chef was not happy with it and chose not to serve it. We have been here several times think it is a quite good place.

The food wasn't terribly good or bad; it pretty much just was. The restaurant wasn't all that crowded, but if felt like they were understaffed or our server was just lax with her duties. It was a pleasant enough experience but I wouldn't go back.

I took my boyfriend here for his birthday and we absolutely loved it! The food was excellent - -- You can really taste the love in the food :) - - The salmon literally melted in my mouth and I could not stop saying how delish it was. The drinks were amazing and perfect. The service - Impeccable. I am so happy that I found this deal on living social and tried something new in an area that I don't usually go to. My boyfriend and I will most definitely go back to try something else on the menu and to see what other delish drinks the bartender can mix up.

Lovely spot in the Columbia/UWS area with a varied, creative menu. Moderate noise level allows for conversation (why else would you dine with a friend?) and decor is soft and comfortable. We enjoyed our roasted beet and goat cheese appetizer. I love mussels, and Bistro Ten 18 was able to cook them to the just-barely cooked point I requested, where the flavor is most intense. My companion's roasted beet gnocchi were flavorful. A great spot in the area!

The food was decent but not great. I had the pork shoulder and my friend had lobster bisque and the burger. Nothing objectionable in the food although it was overpriced. The service was lacking. Staff seemed bored and had no personality. We were served bread before the meal but never asked if we wanted more. After the meal was served, we never saw our server until we asked for the check....nothing. It's a cute little restaurant and with a little more work on the food and a good wait staff this place could rock.

I'm a fan of Bistro Ten 18… I usually get their burger and love it. The hostess was very friendly and welcoming, but our more positive experience didn't go much beyond her. Our waiter was distracted, inattentive, and hardly spoke to us. The bistro has great potential...it's rustic look on the inside and bistro-style tables could really work. They don't cram the tables in, so you can still have a private conversation and still feel you are out for the evening with energy of others around you. They did allow us to split a main course (we had a few apps and drinks first), which was nice of them. Still, it was lacking something given the extensive wine list and other positives.

Dinner prior to an event at the Cathedral of St John the Divine was super. Friendly, attentive -but not intrusive - staff was great as always. Two of us enjoyed a great meal composed of a couple of starters. Scallops were tender and cooked just right. Who knew there were so many different types of beets? Desserts were rational in size and delightful in taste. Bistro Ten 18 is a true neighborhood gem for both lunch and dinner.

This is restaurant that has great food and 99% of our food was great. An accompaniment to one entree was awful. The server apologized and provided a replacement side dish. The restaurant also bought us a round of drinks and offered dessert on the house. However, we were never offered bread--we had to ask for it. Everytime we wanted something from our server, we had to ask that someone find him. Then our server informed us that he was at the end of his shift and left during the meal. After that, we sat for as much as 15 minutes with no one available for us to ask for anything else. Although everyone was very pleasant, the lack of attention was a big disapointment.

Second time, filled mine while ignoring my wife's emptllljust not the expected level of attention. We were seated in the windowless room which lacked any acoustical treatment....got extremely noisy at its peak. Next time I would look for table in front room or eat at the bar.p

I had a Groupon for two, come here to celebrate my sister in law's birthday, my brother also came. My brother had the striped bass in which he said,"this is sublime". My sister in law had the fresh made fettuccine with a sea food combination, in which she described as good. I had the salmon with the butternut squash. I could have eaten a whole bowl of the butternut squash it was delicious. The portions could have been more the fish was such a tiny piece and only one butternut squash come with my dish. The menu is pricey disappointed with the portions. I'm glad I had a Groupon.
