Bistro SaisonsWorth a try!Went to Bistro Saisons after getting a Groupon for it. I went with my fiance's mother and best friend and him. The four of us dressed up and we were more formal than the other people there but we didn't feel inappropriate. The food was INCREDIBLE and I am so pleased with it. Prices are a little higher, more along the lines of a fine dining place. The menu is very limited with only about five or six appetizers and five or six entrees and three deserts. The one thing we really really didn't like was that the server had that nose peircing in the middle that cows have. It was super unattractive and unprofessional and I am very suprised that management allowed this. However she was a very sweet server and did a great job. Overall amazing time!10/4/2013 12:00:00 AMPleasantly SurprisedWe found the restaurant to be a little gem within walking distance of our home. The food was very good, especially the appetizer. My husband really enjoyed it too.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMTasty foodDespite the fact that this is a French restaurant, they don't skimp on the portions like a lot of others do. We had two appetizers, two entrees and one dessert for two people and I was stuffed. The food was great...highly recommend the steak frites. Whatever they seasoned that steak with was incredible. Pleasant service as well. I'll be back.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMPleasedMenu has variety, chose the special monkfish dish which was packed with flavours and filling.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat a gem!Food that is fresh, food that offers both classic and novel offerings, then you have come to the right place. I have dined five times at Bistro Saison and each time I have discovered something new that I really enjoyed. Best to have dinner reservations as this little spot fills up quickly-especially on Friday nights.
Delighted6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat potentialFood was wonderful, even though it came out at different times. Service was rushed and inconsistent, but sure all this can be worked on. Need to sort out the ambient music. Will go back.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMOliver GemBoth the food and service were excellent. Friendly staff and ambiance. The decor of the restaurant is lovely.5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMMeeting with a FriendMy friend and I wanted a good restaurant where we could catch up and this was it! It was lovely...good wine, good food and a waitress that gave us time to visit. Thank you so much. It was wonderful!5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWorth a second lookFairly new place with an interesting menu and daily specials (always a plus)
Service was pleasant and attentive.
Comments on the dishes sampled - Salad - not so great - raw beets tough and dressing just OK
Gnocchi - a standout - great combination of flavors.
Special - stuffed lamb - a little overdone for my taste but a superb au jus. The accompanying fiddleheads were nice but the roast beets were outstanding. Creme caramel was excellent.
Not a knock your socks off first visit but good enough to plan a return visit to try the other interesting menu items.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMA very pleasant experienceOur party of four arrived on a Saturday evening to a warm welcome by co-owner/chef Sandra Ards. We were seated in a small windowed alcove providing a sense of privacy and were introduced to our waitress who explained the evenings specials, educated us on the menu items and entertained us throughout the evening. Though the menu is short it has a very interesting selection and among the four of us we tried three different appetizers (Duck Fritters, Gnocchi de Parisienne and Pate de Campagne), three main courses (Alberta Bison Short Rib, Lamb and Steak Frites) and three different desserts. Everything was very nicely prepared, well presented and was very tasty. My stomach was still smiling the next day so a big hats off to head chef Scott Ards.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMHold the SaltOverall the food was very good. I had the mussels to start and they were huge, extremely well cleaned and the broth was very good - but a bit salty. For the main meal I had chicken with gnocchi and while it was good there was really too much salt. The overwhelming saltiness almost ruined the meal for me. It was a bit too one-note. I had the lemon tart for dessert and it was delicious. The pastry was lovely and flaky and the lemon filling the perfect mix of tart and sweet. The service was very good - attentive without being too intrusive.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food changes seasonally. The food changes seasonally. I order the lamb, which seems like it is made differently every day, the lamb was amazing though the potatoes almost seemed too creamy after a while. The dessert, Chai Creme Brulee, blew it away. I would love to visit this restaurant again.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat a lovely restaurant!!!!What a lovely restaurant!!!! The food was incredible!!!!!2/4/2013 12:00:00 AM
