This was our first time at Bistro Rouge. It was our 10th anniversary and we had a lovely time. The staff was attentive and friendly but not overbearing. We requested a quiet table with a review and the hostess met our request. The food was delicious. I highly recommend the mushroom and brioche and the sticky toffee pudding. At the end of our meal, our server brought us over each a complimentary glass of prosecco for our anniversary. We will definitely be back!

I don't know what the nay-sayers on Trip Advisor are on about! If I listened to half of them instead of my friend, we would never have tried Bistro Rouge. The food and the service have the four of us vowing to return when we are not a bit rushed as we were on Saturday with a concert to start before 8:00. We arrived at 5:30 and got a table at the window no problem. We managed to fit in appies, mains, dessert and coffee within a 2 hour time frame because of our waiter, who worked diligently on our behalf. We shared the cheese plate and tapenade to start, then all ordered different things which were all very well executed. For dessert, there was the caramel bread pudding, chocolate mousse and creme caramel. They were all divine. All of the dishes were plated very professionally. The water glasses were refilled, extra bread was offered without asking, everyone completely on their toes and helpful. We thanked them all as we left. It was a real team effort! We will certainly be back. But since the restaurant was completely full when we left, we have learned also that a reservation and early booking are advisable.

We tried the 4-course chef's menu and loved it! Our meal started with a rich Lobster velouté, followed by delicious lamb agnolotti, then arctic char, and finished with a fresh and tasty vanilla cake topped with a white ball containing a blueberry surprise inside. Overall, the meal was tasty and well worth it!

Food was wonderful, and the ambiance was lovely! The service however, left much to be desired. We actually had to flag down the waitor 3 times to ask for things. He never came back to ask us how our food was, and he was very snobby! We will come back again, hoping that the poor service was an anomaly!

The food and wine were exceptional. Very good service as well. My only problem was the seating. Being stuck between two other tables / couples was a bit uncomfortable. Didn't make it possible to have a private conversation. It would have been easier to pull our tables together we were so close to each other and make it a table for six. Next time I will ask for a quieter location in the bistro. One of the couples next to us was very nice.

We enjoyed our dining experience at Bistro Rouge. The food was comforting and innovative; the bistro burger tasted homemade accompanied by heavenly pomme frites! The atmosphere was vibrant amid a well decorated space. The only downside, however, was when our server continually interrupted our conversation. By the end of the evening, this habit became annoying and unfortunately discolored the memory of our evening.

I'm afraid after my dinner at Bistro Rouge this past week I would say that the experience was not as good as when they first opened. Although our food was ok it was nothing special. The portions were very small- my small scoop of risotto was laughable- and very expensive. I remember thinking when the restaurant first opened that the prices were fairly reasonable- there were wines on the wine list for $8.00 and up. Now the cheapest wine is $12.00. I think possibly the popularity has gone to their head- but unfortunately they are not keeping up the high level of food and service.

Food was ok. Service terrible. Very slow. Moved to 3 tables. Our server left half way through our meal without saying anything. It took quite a bit of time to have the hostess finally take over as our server. The food was ok but for the price and lack of service, not worth it.

We have often dined at Bistro rouge, which is near our home. The food is always excellent and the service attentive and friendly but not invasive. It has become our go to spot for special family get-togethers such as a dinner to celebrate our daughter's engagement. This Thursday we took my sister for a birthday dinner and it was just so much fun! Among the 8 of us we ordered 5 different meals, and each was perfectly prepared. This restaurant is also perfect for a romantic dinner or for a visit with another couple. The ambience is neither too subdued or too loud for a conversation.

Because of the price and the fact it's a spin off of Rouge Restaurant we expected good food and good service. The food was sub par and our service was disappointing. When you go out to a locally owned "upscale-ish" restaurant you have certain expectations. For instance, the server should have decent knowledge on the wine menu and dinner menu, that wasn't the case with our experience. It was for sure a let down, won't be going back.

Walked in to beautiful table overlooking the city, lighting was excellent. The cocktail was tasty and was a perfect before dinner drink, service was prompt, polite and helpful in helping my aged parents select their food in coordination with their dietary needs. The wine was excellent and the food. My own appetizer was the mushroom brioche it was excellent and we all stared greedily at my sisterinlaws apple beet salad. The entrees were excellent and i freely admit I stole some my fathers fries, after I devoured a tasty risotto. To top it all off they delivered two chocolate mousses that were decadent. Everyone was happy with their food and had a great time. My only complaint was they had run out of my favourite kind of tea.

The Bistro Rouge provided us superior service with each course coming and going with perfect timing. Check-ins were minimal while not interrupting our table conversation when clearing the table or to refill beverages. The food was very well proportioned, presented and perfectly prepared. We tried the chef's surprise which was four course. There is nothing but pleasant surprise as you find-out what each course is when it arrives.

I have had exquisite prime rib at Bistro Rouge. My family has had a birthday dinner there with all meals beautifully prepared. On the other hand, I have twice tried to have a pleasant wine and share plates evening with a friend. On both occasions, the service was reluctant. The waitresses avoided serving us until flagged. They were completely helpless with wine lists, and they felt no need to return to refill wine glasses. Charcuterie plates were sad - bland meat and cheese selection, all in very small portions. Other small plates were uninspired as well. All in all, we were made to feel unwelcome. Not a good feeling for a restaurant - especially not a restaurant carrying the Rouge name.
