Great find in Pelham but very convenient for lower Westchester residents...Everything we ordered was delicious...Pass on the escargot which they serve out of the shell and therefore takes away some of the fun. One nice distinction is that you can taste the wine before you order a full bottle.

The food was great! Ambience was good. The only negative comment I have is that the wait staff was constantly trying to clear our table even though we hadn't finished with our main course. They should wait and allow people to eat at their leisure.

The service and attention were very special. We loved the flowers and in general the decor and ambiance of the restaurant are lovely. Maybe a little too bright for a super romantic dinner but still a fine dining experience and great without the kids at night. We thought the menu was very interesting thought the BLT salad was different than expected. We would have liked some "lighter" options for dessert. Overall a special experience at a reasonable price for excellent food. Congratulations.

The food was delicious, the chicken grand-mere is heaven! The service on the other hand was spotty to say the least. We had to keep bothering other waiters/waitresses to help us when we needed something because our waiter was M.I.A., however the other waitstaff graciously obliged. While my chicken was fantastic, my fiance ordered the steak frites asking for his steak medium, it came out (very) rare. He sent it back and needless to say I was done with my dinner by the time his returned, I hate that!! I still recommend this restaurant, it's lovely inside and the food is delicious, they just need to work out the kinks in the service.

  • Chicken gran mere pan dripping
    OpenTable Diner Since 2011
    Dined on 5/22/2010
Chicken gran mere pan dripping gravy was overly salty and could have used a side of mashed potatoes with it. 4 teeny potatoes which accompanied the chicken were the size of marbles. Rabbit special was unremarkable. Tomatoe paste, wine reduction was one dimensional. White meat on the rabbit was stringy, overcooking probably. The best dish was the veal stew over noodles. Texture, flavor, color/presentation nice. Pleasant decor and roomy inside. Obsequeous, inexperienced waiters. Don't come over 4 times to ask if everything is ok. Perhaps some people want this attention; I look at it as an interruption of a good conversation. A good waiter watches from afar and is there in a flash when you look up.

We made a reservation here for brunch on Mother's Day only to find out when we arrived that they we're not serving their brunch menu, only the dinner menu. I think this is a little crazy, considering brunch is the most popular meal to eat on Mother's Day, and at 11:00 am, most people aren't in the mood for rack of lamb. Additionally, there was only one kid-friendly meal on the menu. Thanks goodness my children like egg noodles. In the end, the food was pretty good, but we were very disappointed that they choose not to serve brunch.

Food is great but it is one of the worst organized restaurants around. There are long waits for taking orders and bringing food with no communication. Yet, the staff and owners could not be nicer or more accommodating. They need to bring in a strong manager and the restaurant would be great.

Where do I start....very disappointed. Heard so many good things and we were not impressed at all. Our waiter was very inexperienced. My husbands dinner was wrong (ordered duck breast and he got duck confit, which fine mistakes happen). I had to ask him to take mine back to the kitchen to keep warm while they made his new meal. I thought the waiter or someone would have offered us a glass of wine while waiting....had to ask for that ourselves to and no one had the decency to comp them for the mistake. I ordered steak au poivre and I could have bought a better piece of meat from Stew Leonards and cooked it myself. The fries were great and so was the wine. Thought we'd try someplace new but should have stuck w/ our first choice at X2O

The overall experience was good. I started with the 7 lettuce salad and unfortunately found that one of the 7 was not washed properly, was sandy , and was graciously removed from our check. My duck confit was excellent although for my taste, the gravy or sauce was a little too salty. Potatoes that came with it were barely cooked. My wife had the blanquette de veau and it was not as flavorful as ones she has had in Paris, specifically in the Brasserie Lipp. Add to that, some parts of the veal were tough.

This is a marvelous French bistro. The food is unfailingly fresh, well-prepared, and seasonal. The salads are outstanding (my favorite is the bacon lettuce tomato salad, although the goat cheese and beets with greens is also excellent.) The entrees are no less wonderful - the roast chicken grand-mere is comfort food par excellence and the moules frites (choose one of three broths for the mussels) are some of the best I've had. But truthfully, we haven't had a bad meal yet. Barbara and Arthur Bratone have done an outstanding job. We love this place and get there frequently.

Warm, comfortable, welcoming, congenial feel. Tasteful, low-key, authentic decor. Delish French bistro standards, seasonally adjusted: onion soup, escargot, ceasar salad, beef bourguignon, roasted 1/2 chicken, pan-roasted salmon, rack of lamb, etc. etc. Nice wine choices and good house selections. This is the kind of restaurant you like to frequent as a regular.

Bistro Rollin was terrific. The food was excellent bistro favorites. The best mussels I've had in years. A great place for a date night with your spouse. The tables were intimate, service excellent, not rushed. Also could be a great spot for dinner with friends or family. I think we'll try it for brunch with our children next. In fact, we recommended it to friends who went the next evening and they loved it too. A welcome change from our Larchmont neighborhood bistro.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2010

Bistro Rollin is a welcome addition to the basic Italian restaurants that litter the streets of Pelham. It is unique in atmosphere and the owners are local residents and well known in this small hamlet of Pelham. We went for lunch and the restaurant was not that crowded, most likely due to the school vacation "mud" week. The menu was varied for lunch and the wine by the glass was excellent. I have been there for dinner, when the restaurant was full. My only complaint is that I found the noise level to be a bit too loud when all tables are taken. Whatever you order, make sure it includes a side of fries - they are excellent.

This was my first time at Rollin and I was very disappointed. I had read a number of reviews that had all raved about how wonderful it was to have a real French restaurant in Pelham plus a good review in the Westchester Magazine. Unfortunately it did not live up to expectations. Four of us went so we were able to sample a number of different dishes but, with with the exception of a very nicely prepared duck breast, the cooking was lackluster with inadequate seasoning and was as far removed from French Bistro cooking as Pelhamn is from Paris. The only accurate review I had read was one that commented on the slow service and the extensive time between courses. Their wine by the glass matched the food - bland and over priced.
