Diner Reviews
  • "We always find Bistro Rollin to be a good, fairly-priced restaurant with fine food and attentive service. It's a very comfortable place to have a relaxed, unpretentious meal."

  • "I took my wife here to dinner for our anniversary and enjoyed the experience. Our waiter was excellent. We got to try several wines before deciding which to go with and we received prompt and attentive service. I would definitely go again."

  • "The new executive chef has introduced some changes to the menu which are delightful. The pineapple sorbet is very refreshing and light. A lovely ending to a great meal. The duck breast with cherry compote adds a different dimension to the always excellent duck."

  • "We discovered Bistro Rollin last year and have gone back several times. The raw oysters are very fresh, and everything we have ordered has been good. The menu is bistro French, it is a pretty restaurant inside and out, and the service is impeccable. We think of it as a special occasion restaurant, but families from Pelham bring their children and come often."

  • "We have not been to Bistro Rollin for a while, and decided at the last minute to go out to celebrate our anniversary. We had a great meal. All the food was delicious. My husband especially loved his duck and I had some tried and true standards which didn't let me down - frisee salad and crab cakes. Both were delicious. The service was also excellent - attentive but not overbearing. We will definitely plan to return in the near future!"

  • "The crab cake appetizer was phenomenal. We enjoyed the lobster rolls, but they didn't measure up to the numerous lobster rolls we had in Maine last summer. If you get on their email list, you sometimes get special offers (which is what encouraged us to go that night). Since the weather was good, we chose to eat outside instead of inside. A very pleasant evening."

  • "We have been going to Bistro Rollin since their opening a few years back when we lived closer in Scarsdale. We now live in Hastings on Hudson and still travel the distance, despite our having some of the very best restaurants right here in Hastings and the other river towns! The Bratones (sp?) could not be more gracious. It's a pleasure to visit them, eat their more than superior food. We continue to bring/meet different friends there and they then become devotees also, in each instance. Our son and daughter-in-law are moving right around the corner from them so by virtue of this writing I advise them to prepare for another onslaught of take-outers! I think that surely tells the story."

  • "The diver scallops were superb! Placed in yellow squash with a touch of lemon, covered with micro greens and asparagus, made the dish unusual and delicious! Can't wait to have them again!"

  • "Typical bistro menu in not so great ambiance. Food was solid including the escargot, salmon, mussels. Mini sliders for appetizer and bib lettuce were very good. We needed Pelham location and this is a good choice since there are slim pickings in the neighborhood! "

  • "Bistro Rollin is a dining delight. The owners extend themselves to make sure you are comfortable in every way- seating, food and wine choices, and ambiance. The food is outstanding, from brunch through lunch, dinner and dessert, and served in as friendly (including kid-friendly) an atmosphere as any in Westchester. Outdoor dining, when weather permits, another plus. The more often you go, the more you appreciate it, and menu variety. Pelham's gem."

  • "Great family dinner here on Mothers Day, the busy dining room didn't stop them from delivering great food and charming service. The homemade chicken noodle soup on the kids menu was a hit too."

  • "My third time here and it never disappoints. Had the easter menu and my group all had different entrees. The bass was perfectly cooked, Lamb was a hit. We had a two year old with us and they are very child friendly, nice childs menu plus menus to color on. Staff is friendly but not overbearing. Fast becoming one of my favorites"

  • "During the recent restaurant week we decided to give Bistro Rollin another chance, having found it only acceptable a few years ago. The first clue that this was not going to be a winner was the menu that offered a "New Orleans style crab cake" appetizer. As an ex--pat New Orleanian, I know that while people there love crabs, they don't fix crab cakes. That's a Chesapeake Bay specialty. The raw oysters were nicely shucked, but my wife's escargot was a glutinous, inedible mess, and our steak frites were a bit overcooked. The evening ended with a ricotta cheesecake that looked and tasted unlike any we've ever had. I suspect that the restaurant simply doesn't know what it wants to be. This is certainly not a French bistro. C'est la vie!"

  • "I had an amazing experience tonight at Bistro Rollin. The waiter (the gentleman with a crew-cut) was exceptionally accommodating, and managed to fulfill our every wish with a smile and a charming manner. My fiancé is a foodie, and she's hard to please. The chef - and wait-staff offered us a delight at every turn. I had wanted to try the house made cinnamon ice cream but I didn't want a full dessert - so the waiter was gracious to let us try a sample. This is a restaurant that puts customer service - and great food - on the same level."

  • "The food was light, flavorful and interesting. The wait staff was very attentive but at the same time they didin't rush you--which I love. My husband and I met the owners during our visit and they were delightful. We'd definitely recommend Bistro rollin and plan to go back."

  • "This was our second visit to Bistro Rollin and we were not disappointed. French onion and parsnip soups were fabulous! Entrees of steak and chicken were well prepared and absolutely delicious. The restaurant has a nice comfortable feel that makes the meal even more enjoyable. The waitstaff is very attentive and charming. We will be back!"

  • "Service was ok we sat there for 15 minuets before someone came over and gave us water or a menu. Food was tasty I enjoyed my meal. Price fix menu was a lil high in price for the amount of food I received it would have been $40 each on any normal night. And to charge that price they did it should have been food and sone drink. Oh we'll I'll prob go back just not on price fix night."

  • "We enjoyed a terrific Prix-Fixe dinner. We dined on different dishes but in all cases it was wonderful and perfectly prepared. Not a huge menu but most every dish at the restaurant is a gem. We have been there a couple of times now and will be our choice for special occasions as a couple. We also think that this would be a great place to go with friends."

  • "We have been to Bistro Rollin several times. The French cuisine is delicious and well-prepared. The atmosphere is such that it could accommodate a romantic evening or a more casual night out. Just a great addition to the town of Pelham."

  • "Don't like the winter menu. As a fan of ecologically friendly fish, I hate it when Atlantic Salmon replaces Arctic Char as a special. I loved the dark chocolate cake with sea salt and the chocolate ice cream. I begged for at least one of the two to remain on the menu. None of the current desserts appeal to me, so my problems with this meal were more about my personal taste. I'm also disappointed when, as a regular customer, the owner's wife (or mother?) barely acknowledges us. She talks to other regular customers endlessly. A 30 second "Hi, how are you…" would be nice. The waiters are delightful and work very hard to please us. The appetizers were very good, as usual."

  • "One of my favorite restaurants, have gone for lunch and dinner in the past and the food is always terrific. I've taken friends and family and they remark how good and how fresh the food is. My last visit was for a wine pairing. Both wines and food were wonderful and it was a very fun evening."

  • "The Feb 4 Tertulia Cellars Wine Dinner at Bistro Rollin was a great pairing of food and wine. The food at Bistro Rollin is always superb, and this time was no exception - wonderful swordfish, risotto and lamb dishes. What made this wine dinner even better was the quality of the wines. The Tertulia Cellars wines were interesting, varied, and provided a nice range of prices to choose from. It is always a pleasure to eat at Bistro Rollin!"

  • "Bistro Rollin was always a favorite of mine but the last 2 experiences left me with no Desire to go back. We went with friends during restaurant week and I ordered the seafood Risotto. It was seafood rice soup. I should have sent it back. I could not eat it. And although the mussels were good at the prior visit, there is no vibe in the restaurant or bar. The owners do not greet you when you come in. And they have seen my face before. Better management is needed and the food was so bad I have no desire to go back"

  • "Really enjoyed the new years eve dinner. We did the baked oysters, the warm poached lobster, the creme brulee, some raw oysters and beef wellington. They were all excellent. We really liked the creamed spinach also. The service was a little bit slow at parts as far as getting drink refills etc but overall the food was so good you barely noticed. Also found the drinks to be a little bit expensive compared the the quality of the drinks (Wasn't a huge fan of the french kiss or bellini which were 13-16$ a drink) but the pinot gris they served by the glass was awesome and reasonably priced."

  • "A friend of mine told me to check this place out as she had been there a few times and was raving about it. She's a big foodie and normally tough on restaurants. I really loved Bistro Rollin. I had a bib lettuce salad and mussels, and my husband went for two french bistro staples, onion soup and steak frites. Both meals we exactly what we wanted. The service was warm, one of the owners was on the floor and recommended wine. I hear their brunch is just as good and we plan on going back with our kids some Sunday soon. It's nice to find a place where we feel like we can have a night out and get great food, but not too stuffy, expensive or pretentious, and bring our kids on those occasions we want to eat out as family."
