This time we both had the beef filet special, and it was perfectly amazing! The wine selection is great, the atmosphere is the best, and the food is always excellent. Jenni took great care of us this last time, but all the staff are always friendly and professional. We recommend Bistro Roca to everyone!...By the way, we used OpenTable to set up a reservation on the way there, and we're so glad we did. Honestly, it is worth the drive for the ambience, food and great service. The dishes are different, innovative and delicious and we love the atmosphere. You can get dressed up for a nice dinner or come in wearing jeans and a fleece and still feel just as special. I'm glad we asked the locals how to find it, as it's a block off of Main St. We decided to continue our reservation in the bar as opposed to moving to a table. If it had been wintertime, the inviting fireplaces would have drawn us into the cozy dining rooms. Mussels are outstanding, with a delicious white wine sauce! Enjoyed the friendly conversations with locals and travelers. Our waiter was wonderful, very knowledgeable about the food and drink menu. He made good suggestions to make sure that the entrees we ordered would be cooked for the best taste. I ordered the NC Pork Ribeye and my husband had the Sirloin which was one of the specials along with the Prawns which was also a special. All of the food was excellently put together, the flavors all went really well together and we were surprised by all the unique but flavorful combinations the chef had created. However, I would rate Bistro Roca equal or above all of the other dining experiences. The food, service, and atmosphere were all great. They have some of the best steaks and mac n cheese I have ever eaten. I always order the ribeye and my wife usually gets the lobster mac n cheese. They also have great burgers and really good pizzas. Being adventuresome, my husband ordered the buffalo tongue appetizer. Bobby our fabulous waiter said it was amazing. He was right! It was like a succulent brisket.

It's just great and we feel at home every time we visit. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable. The menu is always highly inventive. I had the lobster roll and a mimosa. Delicious! My husband had a smoked salmon and guacamole sandwich which was also great. They always have a great wine selection and the waitstaff is always knowledgeable and can help you choose a wine you will love. They also have great craft beers on tap. The menu constantly offers interesting specials that are unique and tasty. The service is friendly and competent. The wine by the glass list offers great choices that are reasonably priced. The backporch is open, but you should request to be seated there when you make a reservation on Open Table. The parking can be tricky, but I suggest you park in the village lot and walk down by the lake. It is a quick walk that is especially lovely in the spring, plus you can eat more with a little exercise. Don't let the less than comfortable parking scare you a way from this culinary gem. My sister and I and our spouses came to Blowing Rock for a foodie weekend and this was the icing on the cake before we left town. The service was wonderful and our meal was outstanding. The mac & cheese, which is normally off the list for us was to die for! I had the perfect Cod special and my husband had a fabulous flat bread. My sister and her husband shared a buffalo burger and were equally pleased. We were especially thrilled by the desserts - the chocolate and the lemon - sorry I forgot what they were actually called - but they were both fantastic!! Served with candles and comped too. Their menu has a Southern flair and there is truly something for everyone. The prices of entree's are congruent with the quality of cuisine and presentation...but there is enough diversity on the menu that you could get out of there having had a very scrumptious experience for under 35 bucks for 2. The service is spot on and the ambience is classy and cozy!
